  2. Thank you for joining the Games For Life community. In case you didn't know, we have quite a few game servers in a variety of games that you get free perks on just for being a member in the community. The main games we have servers on are Garry's Mod (GMOD Server links here), CS:GO (CSGO server links here), CS:S (CSS server links here), and many others. As a member you also get perks in a variety of our discord servers (official discord links here) such as the ability to send images, links (not sure about this tbh, haven't been non member in a long time), and much more. If you have any questions feel free to message a member acceptor in the linked list here(member acceptor list here).

  4. for someone who doesn't understand:
  5. 1) Figure out what the problem is.
  6. 2) Determine the best course of action to help them.
  7. 3) Follow the course of action you have determined will best help the individual.
  8. examples of possible issues:
  9. 1) They applied for member despite already being one
  10. 2) They can't find their steamID
  11. 3) They can't apply because they don't have an account (shouldn't ever happen on forums because guest posting is dissabled iirc, most likely to happen in game servers or on discord)
  12. 4) They've forgotten their password and can't login or recover it (shouldn't ever happen on forums because guest posting is dissabled iirc, most likely to happen in game servers or on discord)
  13. examples of possible solutions:
  14. 1) Inform them that they are already member and that they do not have to make any more applications
  15. 2) Point them to one of the many sites that will give them their steamID if they give it their profile url
  16. 3) Point them to the account registration/creation page (there is a link to this in the member app section if you are not logged in when making the member app iirc)
  17. 4) Ask for their forum account name and ask a director to send them a password reset email and inform them that they should check their email (including spam folders) for a password reset email from gflclan.com

  21. someone who keeps registering for member despite already having it (like shark does):
  22. 1) Inform them that they are already member and ask them to please stop making new posts to not flood the member application section.
  23. 2) If they continue despite being asked, tell them to stop politely and inform them again that they are already member and are just wasting the time of everyone that's involved.
  24. 3) If they still do not stop despite telling them to stop multiple times (at least 2 or 3 times incase they are just confused) warn them that if they continue to make applications you may be forced to escalate the situation to a forum moderator due to them essentially spamming.
  25. 4) If they still do not stop:
  26. a)Forum Moderators: tell them what the punishment is for spamming member apps (can be determined generally or as a case by case in the future).
  27. b)Non-Forum Moderators: inform them that you are upgrading the situation to a forum moderator and report the relative post or conversation.
  28. 5) Done, the Forum Moderators or higher ups will determine what needs to be done from here, if they continue to spam applications after this, then just inform forum moderators or higher ups.

  31. the member acceptor role duties in order of importance(according to motorsteak)
  32. 1) accept or deny member applications that the bot does not (ie, for bans on our servers or whatever).
  33. 2) answer any questions a new member might have or point them in the right direction to get the answers that they seek.
  34. 3) anything else that the current team leader(s) deem we are responsible for (this is subject to change as gfl is constantly changing things but member acceptors have a very narrow area of responsibility).
