Background: Moon Areum was born in Chelsea, England and stayed there fro no longer then two months. Her parents put her up for adoption when she was only a few days old. Her adoptive parents took her to Busan to live a long and happy life, so they thought.At the age of 10 her adoptive father died of lung cancer. Her adoptive mother quickly developed mental issues and started taking alcohol and drugs, whilst also abusing Areum. Her mother was diagnosed with insanity due to grievance and was taken into a mental asylum whilst Areum was taken in and out of foster care institutions. Her once bright smile and eyes full of hope where replaced with fear of her adoptive mother’s insanity and a blank stare.

Personality: Areum was very extroverted and was a social butterfly in her childhood. But after her adoptive father’s death and her mother’s mental health issues, she quickly became more introverted and eventually stopped talking to others. She doesn’t trust anyone or befriend them in fear of being left behind or hurt. She’s very quick and witty and awfully sarcastic, but has a hidden sense of humour that not many people get. Due to her not speaking or socialising, she became more involved in her academics and is almost usually in the high rankings when it comes to exams and such. Whenever she’s faced with a social situation she uses her sarcasm to get herself out. This makes people think she’s cold and plain rude.

                  When they first meet whilst walking to a small corner shop and SCHOOL LIFE tries to start a conversation. Areum gives her a cold stare and carries on walking as if nothing happened.

                     Changbin tries to ignite a conversation with Areum, for the fact that he thought that she was lonely. She replies almost instantly with a sarcastic response and Changbin is taken back. He likes her quick responses and is quite impressed about how she replies to him. He gets this odd satisfaction from her and gradually bothers her more and more just to hear her nonchalant tone of voice.

                Without realising, Areum finds herself socalising more with others, especially Changbin. Changbin and her have a heart-to-heart conversation about each other’s past, which results in finding out their love for each other.



Reasons for phobia: After her adoptive father’s death, her adoptive mother went through many stages of grieve. She turned to alcohol and drugs and her mental health started going downhill. She quickly became insane and aimed her pain, frustration and confusion at Areum. She abused her physically, verbally and emotionally, to the point where Areum had depression and no longer wanted to go home. After months and months, social services came and took Areum to foster care institutions whilst her mother was put into a mental asylum.

First Impression of Love Interest: “Ugh, why is this clearly crusty-looking boy trying to talk to me smh.”
                                   “I’m being 100% real when I say that I’m close to back-handing this guy.”
                                   “He’s low-key cute tho. Wait what?”


Interactions: Their interactions will grow over time. First with a small hello and smile (mainly from Changbin) and Areum will slowly break out of her shell and stop ignoring him. More and more they’ll converse until they have a heated argument after one of them push the other’s buttons just a little too much.This is when their heart-to-heart conversation comes in and they quickly realise their feelings for one another.

Relationship: A very shy-version of them first appear when Changbin first approaches her when everyone was in the auditorium for lunch. She replies sharply since she didn’t want to be bothered, especially when she had a mouthful of pizza in her mouth. More often Changbin will try to converse with her until she broke out of her shell and genuinely conversed back.Areum started realising that her highlight of every day will be talking to Changbin. That one day where they both push each others buttons and have a heated argument and a heart-to-heart conversation is when they both realised their love for one another.
