  1. Explanations for endorsements in the year 2021, as of October 5th:
  2.
  3. On October Ninth, Louisiana holds four separate referenda:
  4. 1. SB-87: Yes. This will standardize hurricane protection taxes to ensure that levee taxes stay more or less consistent statewide.
  5. 2. HB-487: No. This will authorize emergency dumping of hurricane funds on any budget deficit the state legislature may decide to pass into law.
  6. 3. SB-159: YES. This will reduce state income taxes.
  7. 4. HB-199: Yes. This will reduce the number of approvals necessary for an independent online seller in Louisiana from 64 to 1.
  8.
  9. The following referenda are on election day in November:
  10. Colorado:
  11. 78: Yes, empower the GOP legislature.
  12. 119: Yes, tax pot to fund homeschooling.
  13. 120: Yes, reduce taxes.
  14.
  15. Louisiana:
  16. 1. Yes, streamline tax bureaucracy.
  17. 2. Yes, cut taxes.
  18. 3. Yes, impose a limit on levee taxes.
  19. 4. No, JBE is abusing the virus emergency.
  20.
  21. Maine:
  22. 1. Electric transmission restriction: NO, the construction of electric utilities being outlawed in the Phippsburg area sounds like some corrupt bill made for a local electric company to set up a monopoly.
  23. 2. $100M debt: NO, this is ridiculous.
  24. 3. Right to farm: YES, this is good.
  25.
  26. New Jersey:
  27. 1. Sports betting: Yes, complete legalization of sports betting sounds fine.
  28. 2. Raffles: Yes. This allows religious and patriotic groups to use raffles instead of just senior citizen and veteran groups. I'm surprised the home of Atlantic City didn't already legalize this.
  29.
  30. New York:
  31. 1. Redistricting: NO, this is just Democrat gerrymandering.
  32. 2. Environmental rights: NO, this is just mindless regulation.
  33. 3. No-excuse absentee voting: NO, this is just a fraud vector.
  34. 4. Same-day registration: NO, they're really desperate.
  35. 5. NYC Civil Court: Some random crap about a small claims court which shouldn't even be in the state constitution.
  36.
  37. Texas:
  38. 1. Prohibiion on limiting religious services: YES. Prohibits local govs from banning churches with the lockdown measures.
  39. 2. Homestead tax limit for disableds' widows: Yes, this is a tax cut for elderly widows over the age of 55.
  40. 3. Residency requirements for judges: Yes, this would make sure judges have been active lawyers in their jurisdictions. Not a very strong "yes" however.
  41. 4. SCoJC expansion: YES, this will purge corrupt frauds.
  42. 5. Homestead tax limit for soldiers' widows: Yes, this is for the widows of soldiers killed in action.
  43. 6. Rodeo raffles: Yes. This makes it legal for a rodeo to raise money using raffles.
  44. 7. Essential caregivers: YES. This will make it illegal for medical staff to deny family access to a patient in nursing homes.
  45. 8. Blight bonds: No, poor urban districts don't need more municipal debt.
  46.
  47. Washington:
  48. 36-38. These are just non-binding tax votes. Protest your legislature and its frivolous taxation.
