- Explanations for endorsements in the year 2021, as of October 5th:
- On October Ninth, Louisiana holds four separate referenda:
- 1. SB-87: Yes. This will standardize hurricane protection taxes to ensure that levee taxes stay more or less consistent statewide.
- 2. HB-487: No. This will authorize emergency dumping of hurricane funds on any budget deficit the state legislature may decide to pass into law.
- 3. SB-159: YES. This will reduce state income taxes.
- 4. HB-199: Yes. This will reduce the number of approvals necessary for an independent online seller in Louisiana from 64 to 1.
- The following referenda are on election day in November:
- Colorado:
- 78: Yes, empower the GOP legislature.
- 119: Yes, tax pot to fund homeschooling.
- 120: Yes, reduce taxes.
- Louisiana:
- 1. Yes, streamline tax bureaucracy.
- 2. Yes, cut taxes.
- 3. Yes, impose a limit on levee taxes.
- 4. No, JBE is abusing the virus emergency.
- Maine:
- 1. Electric transmission restriction: NO, the construction of electric utilities being outlawed in the Phippsburg area sounds like some corrupt bill made for a local electric company to set up a monopoly.
- 2. $100M debt: NO, this is ridiculous.
- 3. Right to farm: YES, this is good.
- New Jersey:
- 1. Sports betting: Yes, complete legalization of sports betting sounds fine.
- 2. Raffles: Yes. This allows religious and patriotic groups to use raffles instead of just senior citizen and veteran groups. I'm surprised the home of Atlantic City didn't already legalize this.
- New York:
- 1. Redistricting: NO, this is just Democrat gerrymandering.
- 2. Environmental rights: NO, this is just mindless regulation.
- 3. No-excuse absentee voting: NO, this is just a fraud vector.
- 4. Same-day registration: NO, they're really desperate.
- 5. NYC Civil Court: Some random crap about a small claims court which shouldn't even be in the state constitution.
- Texas:
- 1. Prohibiion on limiting religious services: YES. Prohibits local govs from banning churches with the lockdown measures.
- 2. Homestead tax limit for disableds' widows: Yes, this is a tax cut for elderly widows over the age of 55.
- 3. Residency requirements for judges: Yes, this would make sure judges have been active lawyers in their jurisdictions. Not a very strong "yes" however.
- 4. SCoJC expansion: YES, this will purge corrupt frauds.
- 5. Homestead tax limit for soldiers' widows: Yes, this is for the widows of soldiers killed in action.
- 6. Rodeo raffles: Yes. This makes it legal for a rodeo to raise money using raffles.
- 7. Essential caregivers: YES. This will make it illegal for medical staff to deny family access to a patient in nursing homes.
- 8. Blight bonds: No, poor urban districts don't need more municipal debt.
- Washington:
- 36-38. These are just non-binding tax votes. Protest your legislature and its frivolous taxation.
