Karel vs Sasaki Kojiro - Incomplete

Karel
Takes her health potions. "Why, thank you! I'll be waiting over there if you need me. I think I could do something reading right about now until the next fight. Speaking of, whose up to fight? Anyone?"

Sasaki Kojiro
Sasaki found himself a seat in the stands, a tiger plush tucked under an arm. His day with Akane was pleasant enough, and he'd even gotten a souvenir. A few, actually. But as he looked around, he noted things definitely seemed quiet. Perhaps no fights tod- Oh, it seems that was about to change. Rising to his feet, Sasaki set the plush down with great care, before leaping down into the arena in silent answer for a call to battle.

Karel
Hopping down into the arena, Karel gave a deep breath. That time of the day again. Still, if she wanted to get stronger, the only natural means of things was to keep fighting. Walking in, she took a read from her spellbook one last time before stepping into the arena, blade at the ready.

Sasaki Kojiro
As his opponent had elected not to modify the arena, he chose to take the liberty upon himself. Beneath then, the stone warped and molded, before raising up several feet, and then slanting sharply. Moments later, a grand staircase formed, with several intermittent flats, with stone benches on either side. At the top of the staircase was a temple gate, and surrounding the stairs was a thick bamboo forest. They were presently level, but had the option of moving either upstairs or downstairs. "Come at me like you mean to kill me, because I'm going to try and take your head."

Karel
"What is even the deal with all these people here?!" Karel gave a sigh as she heard his statement. She appreciated the arena's modifications, as it really brought a nice break from just the sands. Taking her steps up the stairs, she called out to him, readying her magical shield and keeping her blade ready. "I am sure whomever spawned you is proud you would take a child's head."

Alexander Russo  	The emperor watched yet another fight involving one of his favorite new competitors: Karel. The passionate little spellsword's endeavors were a consistent delight to watch, and each sign of progress she made against tougher and tougher opponents made him eager to see more. She was facing off with Kojiro, another interesting contestant, but one that seemed to eclipse her in experience. Even worse, he'd warped the battlefield into one benefiting his long weapon... Perhaps a boon was in order. "Karel!" He called out after rising from his seat, raising a hand and gathering a mass of gleaming dark metal from the Vantablack. As if sewn into being, the mass wove itself into a weapon accurately mirroring Karel's prized blade, which he sent firing into the battlefield to land beside her. "Let's see what you can do with two!" He shouted, dusting the excess metal from his hands before settling down. Normally it were against the rules to interfere, but he was the emperor and neither party had launched an attack yet- in short, let him spice things up.

Sasaki Kojiro  	Kojiro watched as Alexander threw the blade to Karel, but instead of crying foul simply tipped his head. He too had been watching this young spellblade work her arcane arts into every brush stroke of her sword. There was promise there. Sasaki wouldn't admit it, but he honestly expected great things. However, that wasn't going to stop him from very promptly stepping in with the monohoshizao, quickly moving to a high stance, and bringing the blade down for a crushing blow. No reason to pull punches, they'd already danced once before.

Karel
Karel picked up both swords. Admittedly, she had spent plenty of her previous fights simply just shooting spell after spell, rather than augmenting what she was already good at. Perhaps she was trying to be good at too many things at once? Perhaps a change in strategy was in order, watching as her opponent came down upon her. Dual wielding was still new to her, yet one blade tip began to hum with a faint-white light. Diving out the way of the crushing blow, Karel had a feeling she'd be on the offensive more now that she couldn't quite use a shield. Leaving little pause, she launched herself at Sasaki, both blades stabbing forward right for the chest.

Sasaki Kojiro
Kojiro deftly evaded to the side, keeping his high stance before bringing the sword down from her flank. She'd made the mistake of over-committing to the lunge, and now he was going to make her aware of the lesson to learn. Without mercy the sword descended, poised to punish her. How would she respond?

Karel
Watching the sword blade coming down upon her Karel threw herself forward into a roll, feeling the blade nick the side of her cheek. A trickle of blood spilled down from her face as she regained her footing, the graceful little fighter keeping both blades pointed at her opponent. Waiting, she slowly circled him. Hmph. First blood went to him.
