  1. Idea:
  2. - Helper age limit changed to 14+
  3. - New Helper Application criteria
  4.
  5. Description:
  6. So this suggestion is mainly targeted for Application team and the entire recruitment process for Helpers.
  7.
  8. My first suggestion is raising the age limit. I do agree 13 does sound like a good age but we are looking for mature and responsible staff members. 13 is the age when a person is technically a considered teenager and their behavior and maturity are not as mature or professional that a staff member should have. Now there are people under 13 or 14 who are very mature, for example, SunSetGameZone. She achieved Helper at age 12 which is very impressive so if the change is made, applicants under 14 may still apply but exceptions are made if they are mature enough. The reason I am recommending this is that I've noticed some immaturity from a few staff members who are 13 or who cannot handle the stress/toxicity of being a staff member. (Such as being lashed on by community members and all) This would make our job easier and less stress for young users who decide to apply.
  9.
  10. As for the second suggestion, I feel like the knowledge criteria for Helper needs to be extremely buffed up. I am seeing Helpers getting accepted who know nothing about MCC or about Minecraft in general. To prove my point I need to include usernames sadly. Scxorpio has a very poor knowledge of MCC. He has and still is asking questions that he should've known the answer to before he got staff. He asked "Is scamming allowed on Prison" or "How to use plot chat" or "Is scamming allowed on Skyblock" like how is he suppose to help other users if he does not know simple MCC knowledge? Even if they don't play all the sub-servers, they should still know some knowledge of them and how they work as we don't want false information to spread.
  11.
  12. Also, the users should be known throughout the community. I have NEVER heard of SlimeyRiley ever in my history on MCC. Compared to me, before I was staff when I joined I would get called out in chat and people knew me but when we accepted users who were a member of MCC for only like a few months, it makes us look very unprofessional. At least a requirement that they have to be ACTIVE for 30 Days PRIOR applying so it cannot be like "I'll join once and never join again until I apply and say I joined months or years ago" as in reality they never played the server and most likely know nothing about MCC.
  13.
  14. My solution for this is simple, add a new requirement saying that they must be active for 30 Days prior to applying. They also need to be well known (I know the requirement is on the form but I do not see it being used). Another change is adding more knowledge questions into the interview and not allowing them to use any forms or threads to help. Such as during the interview, they cannot have the rules page or anything open to help them as this technically counts as cheating. Also a more strict observation system. I am not on the Apps Team so I would not know how it works but make it to where they need to be observed for a minimum of 10 Days before able to get an interview and at least 7 days after the interview to see if they stay active or if their knowledge still stands highly.
  15.
  16. When I was applying back in 2015 and 2016, the criteria was much stricter. If you were not known by staff // a randy, that would be an instant rejection, no exceptions and if you like did not have at least 500 forum posts, you would not get Moderator. (This was told to me by A1m_Ninja when she used to deny me a lot when applying for Moderator was a thing) So why can't it be this strict again? The staff team represents the server and I am not trying to be mean, I am just stating my opinion and that is, our staff team at the moment is not the best and not representing the server in a good way. Lots of people hate us because they think we are biased or we are not working hard but that is not true. I am simply pointing out that we need staff members who are well known throughout the community, and who have a BIG knowledge of the server, not users who have played for a few months and think they know a lot about MCC.
  17.
  18. My suggestion is close up Helper Apps, try to change and improve the recruitment process and reopen them brand new with a "fresh start."
