  1. Report #692 Skillset: Paradigmatics Skill: New
  2. Guild: Templars Status: Unsubmitted
  3. Problem: Paradigmatics warriors can't actually make use of their tertiary instakill (Illumination) because their primary method of attack, warrior moves, do not actually help build up any insanity, unlike Illuminati, which have ents and madfly in addition to the Paradigmatics attacks both classes share.
  4.
  5. Solution #1: Chaos Aura, a 10p defense that adds temporary insanity build up on weapon attacks and transmology hands (claw/crush/flay) attacks. It will do 1 pennyroyal's worth of insanity for 1h weapons and hands attacks, and 1 focus mind's worth of insanity for 2h weapons, keeping in mind that 1 revelations (standard insanity attack in Para) = 2 pennyroyal = 1 focus mind. Defense lost upon logout, but not on death.
  6. Solution #2: Same as above, but at a 50% chance to build insanity per attack and costing less power.
  7. Solution #3: Provide a solution here.

  11. I'm fine with this as long as it follows along with deathweapon - stat-reduction for additional temp insanity on hits

  13. Keep in mind that it takes a total of seven revelations on someone who isn't curing at all to reach massive insanity. (the level required for illumination)

  15. I support this report. For a templar, they're getting 1 revelation of insanity per attack combo, which is fine. Illuminati using gauntlets are exchanging 20% of their insanity offense for some damage or a random poison, which is also an acceptable tradeoff.

  17. I personally don't believe this is needed (and if it were, I'd be going with equivalent % to proc as deathweapon has to give an aff, which I believe hovers around 15% at max deathmark charge? - certainly not as high as being proposed here), but if it does get implemented I would like to see an equivalent implemented for Timequake for fairness.

  19. Ixion was able to make warrior sac work with a specific knight spec and a specific setup and under certain conditions. That has since been nerfed and he's the only warrior I've ever seen to pull off a tert kill as a warrior unless you count inquisition. I'm all for on-hit procs like deathweapon although like Raeri said the percentages in here would need to be toned down. Especially considering that a templar's passives are way more potent than an ur'guard's as it is. In short I'm not against weapon strikes adding temp insanity or some other effect as an idea itself (although I would want a timewarp version if implemented like Raeri said and for the percentages to be equivalent to deathweapon) but Sentinels and Templars already have the most powerful passive afflicting out of all the warrior guilds. Also just as a general design thing I don't think warriors should be able to passively build someone to a level that a guardian has to dump sometimes 15+ power of well timed abilities to achieve and instakill.

  21. Keep in mind that neither Night nor Moon have any kind of instakill associated with them, and the Crow instakill on warrior is pretty unattainable as well (25% mana, need trees that the warrior can't make unless he has an auction artifact). So it's not necessary that Templars be able to hit illuminate for the sake of balance or anything, That being said, I definitely think any solution that enables tempinsanity/timewarp building needs to detract from the weapon stats of the warrior to compensate and definitely support giving them more options than just hacking away to build wounds
  22. ---[Iytha on 9/12 @ 19:00 writes]:
  23. @Raeri: Insanity building is more an analogue of building the deathmark itself than it to getting an affliction out of deathmark. That said, the point that sentinels should get the same with timewarp if this goes through stands. I expect that Ilyssa will envoy that for her guild should this report go through. @Wobou: With Solution 1, a templar using this ability and focusing his offense on insanity building inflicts a revelations worth of insanity per attack combo plus what he's getting from greywhispers and/or visionflux. The Illuminati is getting the same (a revelation of insanity from using revelation directly, plus greywhispers/visionflux) and then insanity from homunculus/morrible/madfly on top of that. There's no risk of the templar outpacing the illuminati there. Likewise for the sentinel version trying to outpace the timewarp from rubies.
