- ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
- Most of these have a page on the Dragons Dogma Wiki, but no ones gonna read an
- entire site page by page. They won't even know if it's important information
- or not. So here's a collection of gamefaqs trolled info, I have the links to
- the source on some of them.
- Feel free to change use and abuse the information as you wish, it's sourced
- from Gamefaqs so I take no ownership. I've tried to keep end-game stuff near
- the end and stuff you'll encounter near the beginning. Important stuff such as
- the DLC area maps and Automatic vocation ranking will be mentioned earlier
- because it will help put people minds at ease with trying to gain all vocations
- the hard way. Apologies if any of the information is out-of-date or irrelevant.
- ======================
- DLC Area (Bitterblack Isle) maps:
- Very handy, in fact necessary loot-wise:
- http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Bitter_Black_Isle_Map_Pre_Daimon
- Page also has a video to the collectables.
- ======================
- Vocation ranking:
- Do you know anything about how the vocation ranking works? Is it the same as
- how DCP works? I've maxed out all the vocations, but when I was leveling it
- went a LOT faster when I was just killing a bunch of low level enemies that
- gave around 100xp rather than killing a bunch of high level enemies in Everfall
- that gave around 1k+
- ^
- The amount of 'Job Points' you get (as in, exp for vocation ranks), is the same
- as how many Dcp you gain. That explains why <100exp monsters are faster. Not to
- mention, smaller enemies are always easier to find in groups and faster to
- kill.
- ^
- Pretty weird system. Rewarded for killing weak enemies. =/
- ^
- The amount is same because they are, in theory, one and the same.
- ======================
- Automatic vocation ranking.
- Does anyone know any good spots to grind for Vocation ranking?
- ^
- Basically, choose vocations (mage/assassin etc.) based on which stat gains you
- want to get until about level 50 or 60. Then go back and max out vocations for
- the augments using the NG+ trick.
- This trick is after beating the dragon and talking to the duke about the
- treason, go near the church and climb on the any of the walls, let your pawns
- kill the guards, profit.
- Royal quarter in Gran Soren:
- Get sorcerer pawns,
- Jump up on a wall (have a Wakestone with you just in case)
- Go out/sleep/whatever irl,
- Come back,
- Have maxed vocation.
- In the automatic vocation farming scenario you need hire sorcerer pawns which
- have no affinity spells - since the guards won't attack them. Having your own
- weapons magic-boosted with an affinity spell cast from pawns every so often
- will waste time when they could be casting only the two specific spells.
- 1. Recommended party is 3 sorcerrors with high end aoe spells such as hi bolide
- and hi maelstrom.
- 2. Aggro all the guards in the royal area of Gran Soren.
- 3. Stand on one of the walls near the cathedral.
- 4. Wait and collect your exp, gold, and dcp.
- 5. This method is very slow but great for leveling vocations without actually
- leveling up as much.
- Additional tips:
- Oraku52389 suggests to bring one mage with healing spells as well as bringing a
- wakestone just in case either you get knocked down or a guard gets knocked up
- to your level. This will keep the method from backfiring.
- I also noticed that once you obtain the double jump ability or the levitate
- ability you can use it to jump off the high drop wall in near the cathedral so
- that you can change direction and hang from the wall well above the guards. The
- guards even if knocked to the ledge cant get to you, and the guards below
- wont be able to reach you. Since youre in town you have infinite stamina.
- ^
- also a nice thing to note if u go for sorcerer or assassin for stat gains if u
- max those 2 out some of the more generic attacks they learn can be passed on to
- the next vocation u work on
- for example playing as an assassin to rank 9 would unlock hundred kisses and
- six-fold flurry which are both staples for strider as well so going back to
- strider these would already be unlocked and ready to use
- but this only applies to classes that share weapons and skills(for example
- assassin's sword skill gouge wouldnt carry over to a fighter since the fighter
- cant learn it on his own)
- ^
- But if you die when you aren't near the game, you won't be able to level up
- anymore. This guy last night clued me in on a good spot. On top of the stairs
- that lead to the merchants quarter there is a ledge where you find the skeleton
- key in the chest, jump and hang from that ledge. Soldiers have never landed up
- there and you never fall from a hanging position, therefore keep gaining dcp
- and not wasting a wakestone you can sell for loots.
- ======================
- What are skills/sigils
- Skills are purchased with Discipline Points, and can be bought and managed at
- the Union Inn in Gran Soren. As a character gains experience, levels up and
- gains more proficiency in its vocation, it can gain access to even more skills.
- Once a skill is purchased it is unlocked in other vocations that have that
- skill, even if it is from a higher vocation level.
- ======================
- Kick the ox during Hydra Head Escort
- I did find out that spring water can be used to heal the ox about half a kick
- per vial. Pretty sure Herb Ales heal more than Spring Water.
- ======================
- What's at Gran Soren?
- Three new notice boards in the Inn, Alehouse, and Pawn Guild.
- The only place in Gransys where you can change the vocations of yourself and
- your main pawn. Other is Bitterblack.
- Caxton's shop, which will allow you to enhance weapons and armor in addition to
- having a well-rounded supply of gear.
- Barber shop, to make basic character edits in exchange for gold.
- The Black Cat, which will allow you to forge copies of items.
- ======================
- Hard Mode differences:
- To sumerize real quick
- The arisen takes 2x damage over Normal Mode, only you not your pawns take more
- damage.
- Your item droprate stays the same, but gold droprate is increased (mobs
- frequently drop 10k pouches)
- Rc drop is increased (clusters, fragments, ...)
- Stamina burns out way faster.
- Xp is doubled. Note that there is an item that doubles XP on top of the
- existing XP rate, so using Blessed Flowers during hard mode would give you quad
- XP. Blessed Flower explained below.
- ======================
- Earliest I change vocations?
- As soon as you can get to Bitterblack Isle. You can also change vocations at
- Gran Soren inn.
- You can get to bitterblack by visiting the Pier at night. A mysterious woman
- that appears on the pier of Cassardis will ferry you to Bitterblack Isle.
- Before she appears you have to reach the Encampment for the first time. Once
- that is done, go back to Cassardis and she will be on the pier at night. Note,
- you have to be a minimum of level 10 to change to an Advanced or Hybrid
- vocation. Before level 10, you can only change into the basic vocations.
- ======================
- What is this cursed items and stuff at bitterblack?
- http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Purification
- ======================
- Something I just discovered:
- In the Enable Skills menu pressing left/right acts like Page Up/Down.
- I've been scrolling the long way, like, forever.
- ======================
- Manual saves and last checkpoint:
- So you rest at an inn and set out.
- You make a manual save before facing a monster. You die.
- If you select retry, you'll retry from your last manual save. If you select
- retry from last checkpoint, you'll go all the way back to the inn. If you
- accidentally select the latter, your progress is not lost. Just quit to the
- title screen and reload from there and it'll take you to your last manual save.
- ======================
- Where do I get more portcrystals?
- You can buy portcrystals from the Black Cat in new game+ (not post game) for
- 200k each, and can have up to 10 placed on the map. I think PC version has
- more.
- More on Port crystals:
- For a new guy starting out though this is probably one of the best items to
- have.
- You can't have very high gear when starting out because of stamina drains or
- something else negative. But you can have Port crystals with a max of 10 to
- place on the map. Port crystals only appear in NewGame+ if you haven't been
- gifted any. Will save a lot of time straight from the start. When you do an
- escort quest you don't have to travel just port crystal everyone there.
- Basically get someone to gift you some port crystals.
- ======================
- Where do I check how long I've been playing?
- Press start and go to the last tab in the History menu.
- ======================
- Reynard the mobile merchant:
- You may encounter him in the encampment, best interact with him with the
- following ASAP since he will move away and appear in other areas and be hard to
- track down.
- http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Search_Party
- Buy 10 Gran Soren Rubble From Reynard
- The trick with that guy, unfortunately, is that you have to buy something from
- him something like 10 separate times before he'll give you a quest. So buy 1
- item from him at a time, completely exiting his dialog box each time, until a
- "?" pops over his head.
- Personally, I like buying the Gran Soren rubble from him, as you can turn it in
- later to fulfil a Gran Soren Notice Board quest in the "post" game.
- ======================
- Buy skills
- Well, I somehow got to level 21 without realizing I should be BUYING SKILLS. NO
- WONDER THE GAME SEEMED SO HARD.
- ^
- You buy them with discipline points iirc.
- ======================
- Protip: Equip each pawn with a lantern and curatives if possible.
- Protip 2: Always explore dungeons thoroughly.
- ======================
- How to go Solo.
- Throw your main pawn into the water for the Brine to eat. There, you're solo.
- ^
- Actually, it is very easy to travel alone. Just pick up your main pawn and toss
- her off a cliff. Pawn dies and you get to go at it alone. As long as you don't
- touch a Rift stone, you are effectively solo for the rest of the game.
- When you want your main pawn back, go to the Rift.
- ======================
- Yes, you can still level vocations after maxing character level, and gain
- discipline points.
- ======================
- Max inventory items:
- You can only have 999 of any one item. I have well over 2000 items in storage
- and nothing's disappeared.
- ======================
- Equiping High Level Weapons/Armor
- What you might not realize is that all DD weapons/armor have hidden minimum
- levels... this is why the game releases equipment slowly as you progress. If
- you equip weapons/armor that is too advanced for you (more than "a couple"
- levels greater than your current level) then you can experience possibly
- phenomenal stamina drain fighting (including basic attacks) or even running.
- It's even possible to go from full stamina to 0 and huffing/puffing with just
- one attack. In evaluating pawns at the request of other players, I've seen
- those pawns with higher-level weapons/armor equipped have this happen at the
- start of a battle. They died very quickly and I returned them to their Arisens
- with poor battle rating. :(
- ======================
- Master Thief on any wandering pawn
- I use Master Thief on any wandering pawn I find. It worked everytime and I
- usually got some nice loot. A gold sword, for example.
- It also works better/has a higher chance when enemies are blinded, paralyzed,
- or your pawns are holding them, IIRC.
- Personally this is useless so don't bother.
- ======================
- Griffin Bait
- I'm about to fight the gryphon and can't find the bait...? Any help would be
- appreciated :)
- ^
- Run a ways past the bait drop area, there are a few goblins chilling on the
- rocks. Pick up a dead one and carry it back to the bait area and drop it there.
- ======================
- Grimoire
- I found that grimoire thingy on top of the castle tower. Does something bad
- happen if I forge it? A rift pawn is telling me I aught to.
- ^
- Actually there is some use in actually giving him the real grimoire. There is a
- quest involving a Griffin (unless you beat it in the first encounter) that
- makes him appear. So I suggest giving him the real one.
- ======================
- Combining items to make other items (curatives)
- The game has a lot of things that you can combine. These however are only
- really useful at low levels except for a few end-game (such as large fish for
- liquid vims, maybe rancid bait meats, and even then that's not necessary).
- Don't worry too much about collecting random items for combining, as with most
- games, money will be plentiful end-game and the high end items (curatives and
- so on) will be easily accessible.
- Here, however some material combines that might be useful at low level
- (remember you can also always forgoe something if you really need it but it
- takes a whole day):
- Miasmite shard + firefly stone = Miasmite
- Septiscopic crystal + moonstone = Veterans periapt
- Septiscopic crystal + rubicite = bankers periapt
- malecryst + black crystal = veteran periapt
- iron blade piece + blank scroll = sundering spear tome
- alluvial yore ore + pretty stone = ancient ore
- Alluvial yore ore + ancient ore = leaden globe
- burst rock + necrophagus loin = throwblast
- burst rock + ember crystal = throwblast
- burst rock + sconce = dragons spit
- burst rock + flammica = dragons spit
- ======================
- Spring waters at low level
- Oh and spring water is AWESOME. Buy a ton of empty flasks and fill them up at
- healing spring. Distribute to entire party.
- Every time somebody uses one(and they will when they're in bad shape) the other
- three characters get a bit of healing as well.
- ======================
- Refilling Spring Water
- Pawns will fill up empty bottles at Healing Springs by themselves up to 10
- times. After they have 10 full bottles, they will stop. To get around this,
- transfer the full bottles to yourself and give them all more empty ones. After
- you are at your full weight limit, you can them distribute the bottles among
- the pawns and continue filling bottles on your own. This makes the process go
- much, much faster.
- ======================
- Gold at low levels:
- For those having trouble getting money, I put the one Port Crystal you get from
- killing the Griffin outside of Bluemoon Tower. Every three or four days the
- money respawns, which happens to be around 100K to 200K depending on what the
- enemies drop. A Fairy Stone costs only a few thousand gold, like four or five
- (cant recall which). So this is a very cost effective way to make money fast.
- ^
- I could kiss you. I had no trouble getting money for a while. I always had a
- good 400-500k and a piece of armour cost maybe 20k, then suddenly after a few
- story quests everything was bumped up to 200k+ and I just couldn't keep up.
- ======================
- Easy Gold method:
- Back on the topic of easy gold. You can also do it legit if you have a ferry
- stone in your inventory. You can steal lots of gold from the dukes treasure
- room at night when the guard take a break outside. For those that haven't tried
- it you should at least for the fun of it. It's really funny to see the guard
- laying on the ground outside. I forget how much you get in there, it's around
- 90,000 and you can repeat it. It also prevents you from having to give the
- wyrmking ring to the king just to get what's in there. I took some pictures of
- it too just because it was funny.
- ======================
- Best time to use Moldy Pumpkin / Kep Moldy Pumkin:
- Another tip for low levels: eating the mentioned takes up alot of stamina but
- gives decent health back.
- So when low on health use it when stamina is also low.
- Can do this in battle after using special skills or when running and reaching
- low stamina whilst also needing health back as you'll be out of stamina anyway.
- ======================
- Double XP from Quinas Blessed Flower:
- U can forge the flower quina gives u in this quest - gives double xp.
- If you keep it in storage it doesn't wither, basically just do this:
- Get the flower, rush to the black cat and forge it, when it's available to pick
- up from Black Cat shop take them to the inn and place them into storage. You
- now have two, if you keep adding more blessed flowers through forgery they have
- the same wilt counter as the one you originally placed into storage. So
- basically infinite flowers (double XP) as long as you have one in inventory.
- Keep a minimum of 2. 1 for inn inventory one for forging.
- So just have a bunch of them in storage. You don't need too many, just enough
- to level up as much you want, you'll eventually reach L200.
- ====
- More on Blessed Flowers:
- ====
- Blessed flowers last two game days and grant the user 2x xp ("weal") during
- that entire time. They expire at midnight.
- The trick to them is to periodically reset that two-day period by placing them
- into inn storage with at least one other Blessed Flower. They are expensive to
- duplicate- 180,000 gp.
- ^
- A good tip for keeping track of your blessed flower is to pull out your lantern
- the moment you get your flower. When your lamp goes dim, you have about half
- the time until it goes out to put your flower back in your inventory. I've used
- this method for keeping track of blessed flower time when I grind levels on my
- alts.
- ^
- The Blessed Flower is part of Quina's quest, Talent in Bloom. One cannot
- initiate this quest unless Witch Hunt has been completed and, earlier, Lost and
- Found; it's all part of a sequenced chain of quests. Quina is found at the
- Abbey... this is when Clarus initiates A Parting Gift, too.
- ======================
- Most efficient distance travelling:
- Over short to medium distances, normal running is better.
- over long distances (i.e. all your stamina depleting - gale harness is better).
- Running from cassardis to encampment entrance (straight away from exit):
- 30 frames a second.
- 1 - 960 frames (gale harness taking into acount charge time).
- 2 - 1002 frames normal running.
- About 1.3 second faster with gale harness. . . so it will benefit more the more
- the longer distance you run. Doing a lot of climbing and stuff, gale harness is
- also faster. 4-5second start up time won't really see any benefits though if
- simply travelling from noble quarter - over the wall - to inn even if the
- climbing speed is increased.
- Speedrunners spam gale harness alot.
- ======================
- Ferrystones are sold by The Black Cat at Gran Soren for 20k each, or Fournival
- at the Noble Quarter for 10k each.
- They are neither rare nor that expensive IMO. You can buy them from the
- merchant in the noble quarters in Gran Soren for 10,000 gold, which is usually
- how much you'll get from completing a side quest.
- ================
- Sinew and leg strength:
- http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/626515-dragons-dogma/66631913
- Although Leg Strength doesn't create some imaginary "super light" status at
- very light status it does consume 15% less stamina at very light status.
- Sinew grants a flat 20kg increase in total carry capacity. (squished into the
- very light weight class)
- Leg strength is great when you really need the speed boost in combat or for
- running long distances. It's not a big deal breaker in most cases. Maybe best
- suited as a strider to get around faster in combat perhaps?
- Although Leg Strength doesn't create some imaginary "super light" status at
- very light status it does consume 15% less stamina at very light status.
- I created an alt and leg strength with the athleticism augment really helps
- running through stages to get somewhere. Augments seemingly pointless such as
- athleticism have no use to me at level 200 but when boosting an alt account
- certain strategies become viable at the beginning with these.
- ======================
- Farming and forging Ambrosial Meat
- Go to the Ancient Quarry on the Gran Soren side and break the crates where you
- met the first ogre. One of these should have Sour Ambrosial Meat. Take your
- Airtight Flask and create Kept Sour Ambrosial Meat.
- ---
- Actually you can just keep farming it from that one crate. Crates respawn
- quicker than chests.
- Three nights stay in Gran Soren costs 1,500 gold. Three days seems to be the
- lower limit on chest respawns.
- I find forging things at Black cat kind of annoying, whereas I find looting
- fun.
- ---
- Oxen, does and boars only have a 1% drop rate for Ambrosial meat. On average
- that means killing about 500 total and looting them. Then aging them.
- Go into mine, break crate, put loot in air-tight flask. Repeat x5. (I'd also
- loot the whole place, but that's me)
- ---
- Actually you can just keep farming it from that one crate.
- Crates respawn quicker than chests.
- ---
- You can also transform Unspeakable Meat into Ambrosial Meat by using
- Frozen Holywater on it.
- I think Reynard also sells 2 frozen holywaters at a time.
- ======================
- You can purchase replacement WrymKing rings!
- I'll shoot you 3 WK rings... but not until tomorrow. I gots to get me some
- sleep. :)
- ^
- It's not a big deal at all, because once you have 1 (or 2 or 3 or...) you can
- purchase replacements up to the number you've gifted to other pawns at the
- black cat.
- The Wyrmking's Ring Shortens all spell casting time by 15%.
- http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Wyrmking's_Ring
- ================
- DLC quest items appearing in the shop:
- If you do a quest which gives a DLC item it will then appear in the black cat
- to purchase.
- For example if you get a Keen Dragons Wit, it will be for sale in the Black Cat
- afterwards but not before doing the quest for it. It's also infinite stock in
- the shop, but costs alot at low level.
- ======================
- How to lower affinity with Madelein:
- Unequip your weapons and then punch her in the head. Just one punch is all
- that's needed -- you don't wanna kill her because it'll take like 7 days for
- her to respawn. That's what I do to Asalam when he starts to get a bit
- friendly. You'll end up in jail though. Just carry a few skeleton keys with you
- so you can get out for free. :)
- ======================
- "Time Wasting tips"
- Want to advance time without sleeping at an inn (iow that's lame). Here are
- something you might want to do.
- ---
- - got to Jail.
- Punching Madeleine or Asalam (Gran Soren Innkeeper):
- 1 this lowers their affinity for you if you don't want them as lovers.
- 2 advances time when you get sent to jail.
- Unequip your weapon and punch or kick them once only.
- You then let yourself get caught by the guards and go to prison, this advances
- time 12/24 game hours*?
- *I don't know for sure, but it advances time nonetheless. Falcon punch / pimp
- slap as DLC?
- ---
- - Search for seeker tokens / war bugles throughout Gran Soren.
- Check all the chests and pick-ups in the city / Dukes demnse. Seeker Tokens and
- War Bugles are a quest item the Alehouse board will want mid-game.
- Once you complete the Alehouse Board fetch quest "Foreign Service": 20 Seeker
- Tokens you can:
- 1 Also use any spare Seeker Tokens as gifts for rented pawns.
- 2 You will still need them for subsequent playthroughs anyway - assuming you
- care about that quest.
- ---
- - Get a Sour Ambrosial Meat from the crates in the Ancient Quarry.
- Yes you can forge them too, anyway go Ancient Quarry and get the meat from the
- crate in the first Ogre encounter area.
- Once you complete the Alehouse Board fetch quest "Epicurean Delights": 5 Kept
- Sour Ambrosial Meats you can:
- 1 Also use any spare meats as gifts for rented pawns.
- 2 You will still need them for subsequent playthroughs anyway - assuming you
- care about that quest.
- 3 Use them to make Liquid Vim (Pickled Mushrooms + Ambrosial Meat / Sour
- Ambrosial Meat).
- ---
- - Go Dragon hunting (Drake/Wrym/Wyrvern).
- Equip your Ice/Whatever setups and port to get some drops and dragon forged
- chance.
- ---
- Boost affinity
- Find your love interest and give them items that will boost their affinity.
- Give Gran Soren Females Loneflowers.
- Gamefaqs has an Affinity Guide by ChibiLeen
- ---
- If you're desperately bored:
- - Fish and meat collecting nearby. Fish locations are always the same and re-
- spawn over time. Make them go sour to improve their curative properties.
- - practice spells and skills you haven't tried yet on the cows outside.
- - farm the Ancient Quarry for metals. There are so many ore locations you will
- come across by default anyway during quests, best do this when you happen to
- pass by.
- ======================
- Not a time waster:
- At low levels, you may choose to make certain curatives go sour to gain a big
- boost in their effectiveness.
- Make curatives go sour the "hard way":
- Instead of spamming inn sleeps with curatives equipped to make sour (which you
- should do (imo) when you have to sleep anyway).
- 1 Carry fresh pumpkins/fish/grapes/apples/meat with you on quests or whenever
- they will turn sour.
- 2 Carry the appropriate means to make them kept or improve the curative
- properties. Flasks for pumpkin/fish, water for grapes/apples and scythes for
- beast/scrag meats.
- 3 Don't bother with berries/carrots/whatever small curatives. When your pawns
- accidently pick them up, eat them straight away on the road.
- Given this is an RPG, inventory management is necessary, I personally don't
- find it "un-fun", which is enough for me to do it. Luckily Capcom doesn't make
- it feel like a chore - of course you don't have to do this and be reasonable
- with your weight management so you don't become over-encumbered.
- ======================
- Gold IdOL:
- http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Gold_Idol
- A Gold Idol reduces shop prices by 30% - discounts are given at all shops, both
- in Cassardis and Gran Soren, and by travelling vendors.
- ======================
- 2nd Metal golem:
- When you go into Witchwood to face Metal Golem again AFTER 1ST time you killed
- him. His purple actuator targets are already lit up Before you wake him up !!
- It is easy to destroy at least a few of them and when he wakes up he can be at
- half his starting health or less !!
- ======================
- Increasing rare drops
- just remembered that if you carry a Drake Tear, Wyrm tear, and Wyrvyn tear,
- your drop chances increase-I never paid much attention until Karathrax
- mentioned it helps in the Everfall while farming-Went there with my alt
- recently and I swear I got the drop i wanted (it was the 5% Flame skirt for my
- pawn) in like 5 minutes- now 5% is not a 2% but I believe it works-it even
- mentions this in the Brady guide so bring the tears now-it will save alot of
- crying later!!!
- Not to be contradictory, but I'm not positive it increases treasure chest
- rates. It does, certainly, increase the drop rates of ferrystones, rift
- crystals, wakestones, and creatures'rare material drops.
- ======================
- The Secret of Metamorphosis
- Can be purchased from Johnathan at The Encampment for 10,000 rift crystals,
- just before the Arisen accepts the quest to face the dragon (end game boss) or
- post game. The item allows the player to edit their Main Character and their
- Main Pawn as if they were created anew. Complete with build, name and facial
- changes. The item is similar to Art of Metamorphosis in all aspects save that
- it has unlimited uses.
- Using Secret of Metamorphosis:
- In order to edit your characters and use this item you must exit to the Title
- Menu and then go to the Main Menu. The purchase of this item adds an extra
- option to the Main Menu called "Character Edit". It is never displayed in your
- in-game item menu. When you agree with the changes you made the Character Edit
- option will be remain in the Main Menu.
- When is Art of Metamorphosis available:
- Johnathan at encampment sells Art of Metamorphosis after you get your party hat
- and talk to the Duke the first time.
- Art of metamorphosis:
- This is a one-time-use only item, which you can buy at a rift shop for 5,000
- rift crystals (single use). You can adjust everything including name, voice,
- looks, and build of your character and main pawn as if creating them for the
- first time.
- Using Art of Metamorphosis
- In order to edit your characters and use this item you must exit to the Title
- Menu and then go to the Main Menu. The purchase of this item adds an extra
- option to the Main Menu called "Character Edit ". It is never displayed in your
- in-game item menu. When you agree with the changes you made the Character Edit
- option will be removed from the Main Menu.
- If you select Character Edit and do not wish to change anything exiting without
- editing is an option. The pop-up will state that the Art of Metamorphosis will

- Dragon respawn times:
- I know the Wyvern in the Bluemoon tower, the Wyrm in the Watergod's Altar and
- the Drake in Conqueror's Sanctuary take 21 days to respawn. The others are
- either 10 or 14. I'm not sure.
- ======================
- Red health notes:
- Fastest and least tedious way to red health yourself is from that cliff in GS
- near the stairs to noble quarters.
- Red health is when you're in red health and your attack damage goes up with a
- certain augment enabled.
- ======================
- Everfall tip:
- BE WARNED! When you enter the Everfall you will be given a quest to collect 20
- wakestones and bring them back to a certain person. From the moment you turn in
- the wakestones you have entered a point of no return towards the end of the
- game. After you turn in this quest your only option is to beat the game then
- start a new game+, so if you want to farm the Everfall delay turning in this
- quest.
- ======================
- Torn Grimoire Preface + Torn Grimoire Appendix = Decayed Grimoire
- Good for low level players, definitely useful for sorcerers to hold a few if
- you need some extra daamage. Enemies that are cursed take 40% more damage from
- spells (+50% if you have magnitude).
- Upon use, casts the spell High Perdition.
- ======================
- Getting loads of wakestones:
- Is there any way to get the 20 wakestones fast for the quest in Everfall?
- ^
- 1 Do literally any of the everfall chambers. Each chambers bosses drop 1-2
- wakestones.
- 2 Fight the offline Ur dragon and he drops 20 upon defeat.
- ^
- Boss monsters in the Everfall always drop around three or four. Small enemies
- also have a chance of dropping wakestones, but shards are more common. You can
- also find them in the chests scattered around, but most people like to farm
- these for rare items instead. Overall, I'd say your best bet is to explore the
- Everfall, level up so that you can beat the bosses, and enjoy the challenge.
- ^
- Kill the offline Ur Dragon.
- I think I have about 150 wakestones at the moment from it + the absurd amount
- this game gives you just killing stuff in everfall.
- ^
- This.
- Kill it offline.
- Sell any Wakestones you get (600,000 for 20).
- Once you can down it in a round it's by far the easiest way to make money. I
- make 5-6mil in an hour of offline Ur farming between the Wakestones, duplicated
- weapons, and his material drops.
- Honestly just going through a couple chambers of the Everfall will get you many
- more than 20.
- ======================
- Rewards for killing offline UR
- Every offline Ur kill gives you 20 wakestones, 1 holy weapon (Ascalon sword,
- Heavens Keys daggers, or Volant White staff), and usually a couple ferry stones
- and/or seekers tokens and/or panaceas. It's nice because if you sell everything
- you can get over 1M gold per Ur kill (over 2M if all 4 party members have
- suasion equipped at the time of selling).
- Good way to build up your bankroll. :)
- ======================
- Damage cap on online UR:
- About 29 to 30 million in damage in one round triggers the damage cap.
- No "Accessing server..." message? Then your round does not count.
- ======================
- Seeing fournival without waiting.
- As most of you know, if you want to see fournival straight away in post-game
- without waiting till mid-day you can rest till morning and go to his house and
- buy whatever you need. You will have to have found him innocent of course. You
- can also have him as your love interest and he will always be in your house.
- If you completed "A Warm Welcome" quest and have the guards spawn in front of
- his house so everytime you approach his house he goes into run away animation,
- meaning you will have to wait till mid-day when he naturally walks down to
- black cat.
- Usually it isn't a problem since you only really need to buy many items from
- him once and never need to see him again for a long time. However if you need
- makers often for enemy xp speedrunning bb, get your arisen to suck the guards
- and it will avoid them attacking you.
- Using vortex trail it sucks them far enough away from his house so you don't
- trigger their attacks. Then you can go to fourny and buy makers everytime I
- need without waiting till mid-day. The eternal ferrystone helps a lot in little
- situations like these. Use it after visiting Fournival, use it to reset the
- guards if you've accidently triggered their attacks.
- Normal bow class is the only one that can kill death "in one go" with blast
- arrow knockown stun loops, coupled with normal bb running you can stroll
- through segments of BB and never fear death, in fact it becomes beneficial to
- have death show up for that xp. You use the makers to cut down time dealing
- with big health enemies per "segment".

- Combat:
- Probably old news but you can hold down heavy attack to get a follow up attack.
- You can also stagger the second hit of light attack chains to get a variation
- combo.
- Adds a little more depth to the combat, very nice.
- ======================
- Charge Focus Bolt (sorcerer/mage) without doing initial attack:
- You should charge the shot as soon as you jump in the air.
- This cancels out the first shot animation entirely. The timing takes a bit
- getting used to but once you get it down, you can fire those bad boys off
- pretty quickly.
- Focused bolt 20% more damage:
- So if I enable Ferocity augment it adds 10% to focused bolt since it's a core
- skill. Why would ferocity add another 10% when jumping and releasing it mid
- air? Or did you mean Eminence?
- I don't know why Ferocity does that, I suspect that it's mathmatically
- considered a c-c-c-ombo of two core skills.
- ======================
- Articulacy gives you 9% faster cast time.
- Equanimity is 20% magic boost.
- Exhilaration is 50% strength boost.
- ======================
- Stacking charms:
- - Use strength or magic boosting periapts (effects are 4x stackable per stat)
- Demon's Periapt

- Silverwhite Paste (it stacks)
- ======================
- Instant Reset:
- Instant reset was fun to play around with ... cutting winds - instant reset
- just before you swing - repeat. Cover crazy ground so fast. So strong already
- for a strider. Just cuttin stuff.
- Some useful shorcuts with instant reset:
- When running and you jump - to avoid doing the roll when you land - instant
- reset in air.
- Do the barrel roll off a ledge then instant reset.
- Trigger open doors then reset for a shorcut.
- Cutting Wind then reset at end then keep running for a boost. Liquid Vim plus
- this looped makes for faster travelling.
- Then there are the obvious Weapon/Attacking shortcuts.
- Magic Archer Super Jump:
- With Instant Reset and the Sunflare skill it's useful to get some items:
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE2EAipl9Wo
- ======================
- Strider/Assassin/MA can use Hundred Kisses when climbing
- I also learned recently that I can use the hundred kiss move when I mount
- enemies with my Dagger class characters.
- ^
- Was practicing this back in the demo for days... You can do almost anything in
- the air.
- climb up cyclops... mount face and gouge till bloody ... press jump and tag
- said cyclops in the face with an explosive arrow on the way down. feels... so
- ... gud.
- ======================
- Strider:
- I have been playing Assassin, but switched back to Strider to get double jump,
- dodge roll and the stamina augments. Makes a tremendous difference when you
- get:
- Dexterity- Enables you to clamber up cliffs and other terrain more quickly
- Endurance- Increases maximum stamina by 100
- Grit- Halves the recovery time when you run out of stamina
- Arm Strength- Halves the stamina consumed when you cling to objects or climb
- Leg Strength- Renders you one rank lighter for purposes of moving
- ======================
- Drake - Ice is its weakness. Also hit it in the chest till it cracks open then
- keep wacking there
- ======================
- Mystic Knight's a beast?
- Mystic Knight's a beast. Magick Cannon and Great Cannon are crazy effective
- ranged attacks and Ruinous Sigil is practically a death sentence for any big
- monster as soon as it goes down. If you just keep spamming it they'll be
- knocked ass over teakettle as soon as they manage to get back on their feet,
- then you just keep spamming it. You basically stunlock them to death.
- Then on top of that you've got a selection of Mage skills, you have Levitate
- for mobility if you need it, you can enchant your own weapon without having to
- worry about having a pawn do it for you, and you can kill enemies just by
- blocking.
- Of the classes I've used so far it's easily the one that feels the most
- powerful.
- I need to know to make Mystic Knights effective?
- ^
- Invest in an enchanted elemental weapon/shiled as well as a mage's staff that
- works with MK's. Levitation is always useful as well as a basic healing spell
- or one of the higher damaging electrical spells.
- I wouldn't spend to much on leveling up skills for your staff, just pick the
- few that suit you and level up the one that makes your bolts more effective,
- invest in Magick Cannon and Great Cannon (this spell is a monster) Magic shield
- counters are very very effective, they each have different strengths and
- effects and work mostly during a perfect parry/block.
- Just go with the flow and you'll be on your way to being an unstoppable
- wrecking machine.
- ======================
- So what's your standard Mystic Knight moveset?
- Burst Strike/Ruinous Sigil/Great Cannon
- Fire Enchanter/Holy Enchanter/Fire Riposte

- Ur Dragon in 90 secs as sorcerer

- Augments:
- Equaminity
- Attunement
- Impact
- Acuity
- Bloodlust
- Autonomy
- Items:
- Demon's Periapt
- Silverwhite Paste (it stacks)
- Ditch every pawn; change vocation to Sorcerer. Put your health bar in the red.
- This can be achieved by jumping off cliffs, healing self, jumping off again,
- healing again and so on. Rest till nightfall.
- Kill the three dark pawns. Wait for the Ur-Dragon to arrive. Cast Holy Affinity
- on self. Charge your attack by pressing the Square button. Fire it, and charge
- it again. Circle around the Ur-Dragon until dead.
- With this method, you can take full two bars off the offline dragon with one
- charged attack. The quickest I've defeated the dragon was 50 seconds.

- These are Pure physical damage items:
- Longsword: "Dragon's Bite" - Obtained by defeating The Dragon with a Longsword
- equipped.
- Longsword: "Wounded Heart" - Bought from Joye in the Chamber of Remorse, in
- post-game of The Everfall for 1,326,000 Gold.
- Can be found in a chest in the following chambers in the Everfall:
- Chamber of Estrangement (2%)
- Chamber of Tragedy (2%)
- Chamber of Resolution (2%)
- Chamber of Hope (2%)
- Also probably somewhere in Bitterblack.
- Warhammer: Dragon's Repast - Obtained after defeating The Dragon, with a

- Part 2
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdIjBKDr0gs
- Yeah, I stay near that west hill alot when solo (and even with pawns), it's
- fairly safe and keeps me from having to run around. There a nice neutral zone
- where he can't really stomp you or use his dark-fire breath.
- It's alot funner with pawns though and they can distract him and let you roam
- about more freely (plus it's nice to have the company and see crazy spells
- going off). You do lose out on autonomy of course but with 3 sorcerer's and
- salomet's secret to buff them things tend to work out nicely.
- You can also stay up on a hill for most of the fight. He will continually
- barrage you with holy furor and then a spell but with good timing you can buff
- yourself when needed and lay down cannons in time to riposte. It's basically
- constant riposting.
- ======================
- Certain spells take a phsysical stat:
- Very interesting that Gorgoron and Draken (when a Sorcerer) will spam
- Conqueror's when paired and chaining bolide together.
- I remember some post about certain spells taking a physical stat aswell as a
- magic. . . very nice way of finding out. Wonder what other spells do that
- seism?

- corset after crossing first big bridge.
- Floor Spawn - 27 The Blighted Manse: opposite the above where there are loads
- of pink mushrooms and water nearby on the floor

- quests.
- Airtight flasks:
- 1 Cassardis beach somewhere near the shore.
- 2 Unusual beach on/near the middle incline going up from the beach.
- 3 Blighted Manse in one of the side rooms going up to aelinors chambers.

- Cronus Pro Macros and macros in general:
- I'm sure someone on the cronus max forums has made macros for this game, if
- they haven't they will.
- Useful ones to make yourself or download with cronus:
- Autofire on the start button - sure does help skipping cutscenes and holding
- down b to breeze through annoying dialogue is a godsend.
- Approaching and opening doors is also a breeze just hold down b autofire and
- then tap RB and it will do the door opening shortcut with minimal timing-
- execution required. Little things like that all add up saving thousands of
- button presses in this game.
- For dialogue I already read just hold autofire. . . for cutscenes hold start
- autofire.
- I've saved myself thousands of button presses, and my poor thumb to the point I
- would seriously consider taking a hiatus on the game if my controller with
- extra buttons was out of commission.
- Gameplay Macros:
- I'm sure there are gameplay macros like the Magic Archer Super Jump. 1 button
- Masterful Kill macro so on and so forth.
- You really need a custom controller with extra buttons for cronus to program as
- unique buttons though.

- PAWN stuff:
- ======================
- Don't use Neutralizing elixir:
- You shouldn't use that elixir anyway,it makes your pawn stupid,it's like a
- memory wipe.Think of how good of a droid R2D2 is because he never has had a
- memory wipe,your pawns the same way,if you want to change inclinations
- (Karathrax solution),just use 15 for your third,15 for your secondary,and 15
- for your primary(in that order),if you don't have the RC,then just use a few
- less,or as many as you can get.doesn't have to be 15,but that's a good number
- to prevent your pawns inclination from changing while traveling with other
- pawns.
- ======================
- Who hired my pawn?
- Under the History tab is a list of pawns I've hired in the past but I don't see
- anything about others who've hired my pawn. How do I find out?
- Search -> Pawn your main pawn knows
- For online players: Pawn history
- Just hit start, History and right bumper all the way to where it says Adventure
- Log then use left stick and go down one click to Pawns. And you will see that
- information under the headings of:
- "Times Main Pawn Was Hired".
- And Also if you are intrested under the heading "Times Main Pawn Gained
- Knowlege" you can also find that information to.
- Hope that helps. Oh, it only gives ratings after a good nights sleep in the Inn
- if they even bothered to rate you.
- You can see the total rating that you have under Start, Status and all the way
- down to the bottom with Left Stick under Review. You woll be rated on
- Appearance, Battle and Helpfulness Ratings.
- ======================
- View pawn inclinations
- Why on Gransys do people outfit their pawns with offensive magic and then give
- them the guardian trait? I just wasted another 15K RC on another shitty mage
- pawn. I just wish there was a way to see their inclination before you picked
- them.
- ^
- Talk to them and select "details"?
- ======================
- Inclinations for Mage pawns
- For those with Mage or Sorcerer Pawns, I recommend buying the Utilitarian's
- Elixir at the Rift Shop. I think it's the best inclination for spell casters
- since that trait will have them casting spells nonstop.
- Having the Scather's Elixir as a secondary trait makes your Pawn target the
- strongest foes too.
- ======================
- Sprint past and come
- As you sprint past keep hitting down on the directional pad to spam the command
- to come to you. They'll leave off attacking quicker if you do that. Once
- you're in the woods it's no prob to heal up a bit.
- ======================
- Enchanting and healing
- My pawns heal me, but not always as quick as I'd like, so in those cases I'll
- tap the D-Pad to get them to heal me a bit quicker. The AI can be a bit slow at
- picking things up sometimes.
- I also have to mash the D-pad to get them to enchant me. They'll heal me first
- when I use it, and then after when I hit it again they'll then enchant my
- weapon. If they have multiple enchants, though, it's always up in the air as to
- which one I'll get.
- "They're weak against fire!"
- *gets ice*
- ^
- Make sure your pawns only have one affinity boost (not fire and ice both),
- otherwise you'll get whatevers.
- ======================
- Getting to UR dragon in NG+ quickly.
- I started NG+ a couple of hours ago and as soon as they wanted me to escort the
- hydra head again I knew I was done with the game. No more fun to be had there.
- Too bad I never tried the Ur Dragon, though.
- ^
- You're not quite done with the game yet. Go to the beach in the starting town
- and on the far right side there's a separate part of the beach that you can go
- to which has a portal to the Ur-Dragon.
- Enjoy.
- ================
- Hold D-Pad to make pawn attack
- Use the D-pad for awhile, start attacking an enemy and then hold up on the D-
- pad till she starts to cast a spell; hold the button down, don't press in
- repeatedly.

- Spell Mirroring
- - If a character starts casting one of the AOE spells, another may walk into
- the circle and start casting the same one. Character 2 will immediately reach
- the same progress as Character 1.
- - Spells don't combine or transform. However, they will go off at the same
- time.
- - Character 2 must at least touch the circle, or the progress bar won't synch
- up.
- - When Character 1 is done charging up, the circle will disappear, even if he
- doesn't release the spell right away.
- - 4 sorcerers casting High Bolide: death to everything onscreen.
- For sorcerer pawns: Utilitarian/Challenger inclinations are good for spell
- mirroring.
- ---
- If you're planning on doing spell syncing, then you want Utilitarian/Challenger
- as your inclinations for both pawns.
- If by "priorities" you mean inclinations, the general consensus on this board
- is that the best inclination for a sorcerer is Utilitarian/Challenger. That
- allows sync'ing of spells with other sorcerers and focuses on
- bosses/ranged/magic enemies with priority. When you are in a multiple sorcerer
- party all with Util/Chal inclinations and similar spell set ups, it is a
- devastating sight to see. :D
- ---
- I was using all sorcerer party for a long time - I can toss something into this
- discussion- when the Ur Dragon perches on the top of the tower - run over to
- that edge and immediately set off a maelstrom - a pawn will step in to join and
- will actually sling theirs up to the top the tower so it erupts directly under
- where he is perching and knock him off
- something I also noticed with bolide and maelstrom is the pawns can drop those
- just about anyplace on that battlefield regardless of where they are standing,
- if it is part of a combined spell - as an example - let's say I sling a
- maelstrom and during the setup Ur jumps to the other side of the battlefield -
- if a pawn was part of the setup, their mealstrom will erupt under Ur clear on
- the other side of the battle field
- finally.. by about lv 160 (probably much less), a group of 3 sorcerer pawns
- with gicel and bolide on all 3 can kill offline Ur in under one round by
- themselves without any help from the main character other than pickups if
- someone dies (which shouldn't happen at that level anyway) - I only tested this
- using Scathers, since I found the other inclinations useless for big damage
- dealing - maelstrom is a nice to have for this situation - bolide deals with
- topside/wing hearts - gicel take care of the rest - the pawns can't sort
- knocking him off the tower tho, that would throw it - but they can knock him
- out of the sky

- Rent trolling doesn't work:
- It's been my observation that RC count is also a factor in rank advancement.
- The best rents in terms of advancement are high RC count and a high review, the
- lowest is a negative review with no RC. Some of my main pawn's rents have hit
- the cap of 1M RC.
- That said, the few rents I've received from rent trolls have made me laugh
- because, obviously, a zero RC count means the review of the pawn's performance
- is worthless, and a subjective review of the pawn's appearance is just that,
- subjective. When a pawn has received hundreds of highly rated rent/reviews,
- rent trolling still advances the pawn's popularity and has no impact on the
- pawn's reputation, so the rent-trolled pawn actually gets more benefit from
- such a rent than otherwise.
- ======================
- Rift Crystals:
- Number of Rift crystals, are based on the exp earn't. Credit goes to Asgard and
- the ps/3 board.
- The maximum RC that can be retrieved at a time is 1 million.
- FROM: PS/3 board (Asgard)
- Any enemy has a base xp value. The following multiplier is then applied 3
- times, once for each pawn:
- Base xp * [1 + (0.01 * x)] where x is equal to (Arisen LVL - Pawn LVL) to a
- minimum of -25 and maximum of 25.
- (Basically, the xp you get is multiplied by a number ranging from .075 to 1.25
- depending on how much higher or lower your Arisen's level is compared to the
- pawn)
- A missing pawn seems to count as being 25 levels below the Arisen, though I've
- not sure how it would work with an Arisen who is below level 25. (For example,
- if you are traveling alone, you'll get 3 maximum modifiers: 1.25 * 1.25 * 1.25
- = 1.953 times the base xp for the enemy defeated).
- The belief for a while now has been that the modifier caps out at a 20 level
- difference, but the tests showed it to be at 25.
- Also, pawns seem to use the same formula to determine RC earned. The same
- formula can be used, but it must be calculated from the Pawn's perspective
- rather than the Arisen's. This means if you don't already know the Base xp
- value of the monster you'll have to work backwards from the displayed xp figure
- (which is what the Arisen earns), THEN calculate what the pawn earns given the
- base value. The number of RC earned seems to be 10% of Base xp (or Base xp *
- 0.1).

- Pawn Foe Knowledge and stars.
- The stars are triggered by 'talking' points on the map. Your pawn has to hit
- them all two times, once by day and once by night. They have nothing to do with
- locations discovered.
- One of them is up on the hill where the grave crypts are, just northwest of the
- catacombs entrance in Deos Hills.
- The Dripstone star includes walking into the entrance at Manamia Trail, killing
- everything in thevStation Room (sometimes spiders, sometimes bandits) and
- walking up to the barred door. This is openable from the other side, and that
- is where the boxes with the snakes are. If that bar is broken from the snake
- side, the location does not trip. The pawn will say, it will be easier
- searching this area, or I have become more familiar with this location if
- successful.
- The talking point in the Miasmic haunt is in the water a little northeast of
- the wight. One of your pawns will comment on the butterflies in the swamp and
- how the swamp is harmless in their presence.
- ======================
- 100 pawn limit rents during inactivity.
- A pawn's save file has limitations in the number of hires it can store during
- inactivity. It is 100 discrete GTs. Any rents accumulated beyond the initial
- 100 are lost.
- ======================
- What inclinations to use?
- Eh, it depends on what you want your pawn to do. (All inclinations are listed
- Primary Secondary (hidden tertiary). Note that these are my oppinion. To check
- your hidden inclination, sit them down in the chair and they will ask you to
- switch between 2 and 3.
- Healer/buffer - utilitarian, medicant (chalanger)
- Buffs weapons first, heals when no buffing required, takes pot shots at archers
- and mages
- Tank - scather, utilitatian (challanger)
- Goes after the strong and taunts the weak (if fighter), will take potshots at
- archers or mages
- Ranged DPS - challanger, scather/mitigator, (utilitarian)
- Goes after mages and archers first, so minimazes running around. Mitigator
- works well on a ranger if you have a tank like the one above. Tank will focus
- on big guys, ranger will tackle the mages and the weak without running atound
- to much. Scather works well on a sorcerer who will takr out mages then focus
- fire on the big guys, then buff weapons if needed.
- Climber - utilitarian, scather (challanger)
- Will be more prone to climbing big guys.and wikk takr potshots at ranged
- attackers. Excellent for a Strider.
- There are others, but those seem to work the best. And try to avoid challanger
- on a fighter or warrior... they'll run about to much and waste time they should
- be using to kill.
- And interesting combo might be
- Arisen sorcerer
- Main pawn ranger with challenger mitigator (guardian)
- 2 sorcerer pawns with guardian utilitarian
- If you make sure that 2/3 sorcerers have wyrmking kings and all have the
- augment to reduce cast times. As well as having similar spells (high bolide and
- high maelstrom are a must) the pawns should copy your spell. But because 1 is
- slower, you should be able to quickly pull of a 4th spell while tjr slownone
- finishes.
- 4 high bolides is a thing to behold (as are 4 maelstroms)
- ===============
- Best inclinations for warrior pawn:
- Note: this is Sein's post not mine.
- for me:
- 1 best - Mitigator/challenger/pioneer (normal)
- 2 - Scather/challenger/pioneer (bbi)
- 3 - Mitigator/utilitarian/pioneer (throws more flasks and shit)
- Equip AoV
- mit/chal/pio is usually my goto setup for the vanilla game, but sca/chal/pion
- is what I use for BBI due to all the strong enemies. That is sca/chal/pio is
- better because when there are goblins, a gore chimera and 2-3 garms running
- around you definitely want your fighter/warrior to focus on and aggro the
- garms.
- For sca/chal/pio it seems challenger as secondary decreases how often a pawn
- will try grabbing onto/climbing or holding down enemies; which scather inclines
- them to do more.
- I think I prefer mit/chal/pio over mit/util/pio . Utilitarian works fine but in
- my experience pawns seem less aggressive,are more prone to prioritizing
- throwing poison flask, skulls, throwblast, and rocks over using their weapon.
- On occasions I've even seen pawns with utilitarian get locked up trying to
- equip one of these items to throw it , but then the equiping or throwing
- animation gets interrupted by an enemy attack, and the pawn proceeds to keep
- trying until it can finally equip the item and throw it.
- If you add utilitarian, manage your pawns tool inventory ,making sure to
- discard any throwable items like the above items is sometimes necessary.
- With challenger instead, Ive rarely if ever had this issue. And challenger
- seems like a far more passive inclination when set to secondary. My pawn will
- still focus on the stronger enemy in the room even if there is a magic user
- nearby. Overall, contrary to the popular consensus, my fighter pawn just seems
- smarter (or rather less stupid) with challenger instead of utilitarian. That
- goes triple for my warrior.
- Mitigator also seems to make them even less stupid, but again , in my opinion
- is less effective for BBI, simple because of all the strong enemies thrown at
- you simultaneously.
- ^
- Also Act of Veangeace makes warrior pawns 2x-3x more aggressive. They rarely
- actually charge it up fully, yet it almost completely keeps them from jumping
- around to avoid attacks. Instead, with AoV they'll usually stand their ground
- and fight (which is what you want them to do).
- ^
- Also War Cry and any charge move (with the sole exception of Act of Veageance)
- are not that useful (if not completely useless) for pawns. Some may disagree,
- and its just my observation based on extensive trial and error.
- ^
- Finally, pioneer as a 3rd inclination, gives you the the slight benefit of it
- without it's notorious primary function. That is you want your fighter and
- warrior pawns to be able to distance themselves from you beyond the default
- active battle radius so that they can more effectively aggro enemies and stay
- on them, while distancing them from your mage/socererer/ranger/MA Arisen and/or
- pawns.
- Hope this helps :)

- 3-star Beastiary:
- Pawns have their own invisible kill counts. A total of number kills from kills
- they witness while hired by someone else or with their owner.
- So at least some enemies (and possibly all enemies) one of the requirements for
- getting 3 stars is for the pawn to witness a certain minimum number of kills
- for that enemy.
- No. of kills for pyre Saurians:
- When I was at 187 Pyre Saurians killed in my Arisen's History, I would get my
- third star upon reaching 191 kills no matter how I killed them. So your arisen
- needs to be 191+ kills on pyre saruians.
- No. of kills for Banshees:
- 168+ kills.
- When I was at 163 banshees killed in my Arisen’s History, I would get my third
- star upon reaching 168 kills no matter what techniques I employed to kill them.
- I godsbaned several times and always got the third star upon reaching 168
- kills.
- Keep in mind that some players will reach the invisible kill count requirement
- before completing the other types of requirements; while others will complete
- the other types of requirements before reaching the invisible kill count
- requirement.
- ---
- Kill counts are likely only BBI monsters (or certain ones)
- I have well over 500+ hydra kills and use same pawns who are still at 2*'s for
- several of bosses.
- ^
- The fact that many pawns might be sitting on 2 stars for a monster having
- participated in killing that monster a huge number of times doesn't disprove
- the theory in this thread that kill count contributes to monster knowledge.
- ---
- Seneschel 3 stars: perfect blocking his aoe
- I'm not looking forward to this guy. I hear his star is rather random, just as
- the Gransys star is.
- I read through alot of topics a few weeks back, and collected what little
- knowledge I could. There was alot of opinions and ideas, so I saved them all.
- Glad I still have it saved on my laptop. I'm only on my 2nd play-through, so I
- can't test any of this, but I do know it will take more than a few play-
- throughs.
- 1. Grapple Seneschal, and let your pawn deliver the finishing blow.
- 2. Let pawn grapple Seneschal, and delivering the finishing blow.
- 3. Kill Seneschal, but not Seneschal's pawn.
- 4. Get hit by AOE attack / Perfect block AOE attack.
- 5. Drag the fight on, and let Seneschal finish talking before killing him.
- ^
- you only need to do his perfect riposte (mystic knight) his AOE. At least it
- worked for me.
- The Seneschal fight has three requirements plus a number-of-fights requirement.
- A) You must perfect block or riposte (the MK's elemental version of a perfect
- block) the holy bolt the Seneschal throws.
- B) You must perfect block or riposte the holy burst the Seneschal 'throws' when
- grappled.
- C) Both of you must grapple the Seneschal once.
- D) Two fights, minimum.
- These seem to be the common denominators I've seen mentioned over the last, um
- year. All that said, I got it on my fourth fight as an MK, perfect blocking
- everything, and then my pawn grabbed it once while I was blocking, and then I
- grabbed it for my pawn to kill.
- ---
- Hydra 3 stars:
- To make it open its mouth, normal bow arrows seems to do the trick quite easily
- without cutting its head off (unless you're too strong, use a weaker bow).
- Just tried it a few times and after a certain amount of damage with the bow, it
- did the "open mouth stun" where it will lower its head for quite a long time,
- with a gaping mouth. It's not always successful, but the chances were quite
- high.
- ^
- I cannot for the life of me get that stupid barrel into the Hydra's mouth. It
- doesn't help that there's only ONE and whenever you pick it up it swipes its
- tail at you and the thing explodes in your face.
- ^
- To get the hydra and archhydra to lower its head you have to shoot a arrow into
- its eye. It is not based on damage so just use a very weak bow and you can get
- it to lower the head with the first shot.
- ^
- There's 4 or 5 barrels in the Shadowfort Hydra area:
- - 1 barrel sits right to the left of the stairs you walk through to get to the
- arena
- - Right besides that first one, there's a haystack with a barrel in it
- - To the far right, there is a wooden structure. There's a barrel to the right
- of it, near the wall
- - There's another in a haystack near that area, probably near the small gate
- containing the Darkened Glove chest.
- What I do is that I pick all of them up and bring them back to the stairs, so
- that the Hydra won't touch it. I make sure to put them quite high because the
- hydra can clip into the wall and destroy the barrels even if they're quite far
- inside the cave. Then, I pick a barrel and try one at the time.

- Trade Ban notes:
- Ok, not to hijack your topic here, but I've been doing A LOT of testing on my
- own and here are some stuff I can clarify:
- 1. Personally, to trade stuff properly, all you need to do is go to a Rift
- stone, hire, exit, equip, release, sleep at inn to access/update server. The
- key thing is that while you're in the Rift, make sure the pawn you're releasing
- disappears and you get "Accessing Server" before you exit the rift.
- 2. There is no such thing as a 1 item ban (in my experience); a trade ban where
- you can only give out rocks for about 24 hours happens when you access the
- server with an older save. i.e. You save onto a USB and give everything off
- that save file; then later when you load back from your hard drive and access
- the server, it detects you using an older save and gives you a trade ban.
- 3. No one has ever mentioned this, but based on my experience trade bans are
- tied to your console. I was not able to gift anything from a second GT after my
- main GT was trade banned.
- 4. Some people have theorized that by going loading up an older save in offline
- mode, saving and reconnecting to the servers, you would be able to bypass the
- trade ban. I've tested this in a few ways for 3 days (3 cycles) and I've been
- banned for about 12 hours each time.
- Short version:
- 1. You can gift in just 3 steps
- 2. No such thing as 1 item ban. You get banned after loading up an old save in
- online mode.
- 3. Trade bans tied to console id
- 4. There is no work around. So if you intend to reload an older save and get
- temp banned, make sure you give out everything.
- Trade profit duplicating:
- 1 Finish everfall farming:
- 2 then make inventory of the stuff you missed
- 3 backup save
- 4 trade for items you need on forumz
- 5 give the items you received to account 2
- 6 verify you received items in account 2
- 7 go back to account 1 backup save, continue playing as normal until 24 hours.
- Test the server with account 2 to see if account 1 can earn RC's (which means
- trade ban lifted)
- 8 profit
