Q: What are you trying to do?
A: Beat the game as fast as possible without using savegames in any way, known as a single-segment speedrun.
Q: But there is no SS category on the leaderboard only NoWMnoQS?
A: When I started the category I was running was known as SS (single-segment) and did not allow any saving mechanic. I chose to stick with that ruleset because I want to. I will submit my SS runs as "NoWMnoQS" (what a mess of a name) on the leaderboard as my runs do perfectly comply to that specific ruleset.
Q: Why Skitty and Squirtle?
A: Skitty gets the multi-hit move Doubleslap and Attract, which makes boss fights a lot easier. Squirtle is a good partner due to Bubble.
Q: What are potential run killers?
A: Running out of Reviver Seeds and dying is a bad plan. Not having Max Elixirs is bad either, because then I need to waste a Reviver Seed for extra PP. Running out of PP means having to relink the moves. Then there are a few Pokemon that also have multi-hit moves that can oneshot me multiple times wasting multiple Reviver Seed. The most dangerous one being Aerodactly who also has a nasty Wing Attack, gets Agility and has Pressure, which doubles the PP used against it.
Q: Why do you do extra missions?
A: Between some story elements you are supposed to do these. Ideally I also get Reviver Seeds and Max Elixirs as rewards here.
Q: Why does Attract work on genderless Pokemon...and how did you just hit a Ghost type with Tackle?!
A: I don't know why this works either, but lets just pretend I'm genderless too and Squirtle and I have Scrappy, fine?
