1/5/17 Protest

UPDATE: Following feedback from the community, the duration of the event has been adjusted, and there is more clarification regarding log on bonuses and Elite subscriptions.

     Before beginning, it must be known that the purpose of this post is for TERA to grow. This is not intended to antagonize En Masse Entertainment, or Bluehole Studio, in any way.

     A happy community is a profitable community. Please take a look at Tonka’s presentation about the importance of Community Management <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJe2MESvdms>. Whether you’re a developer, a publisher, or both, it is absolutely important to focus on your community just as much as the profits, because the community is the source of the profits.

     What EME and BHS focus on the most, are revenue, and player populations, so we need a community effort centered around those two things. Starting on Tera’s 5th Anniversary, May 1st, at 5AM PDT, we will stop playing TERA, and also stop buying TERA products for 7 days. Just to clarify, this also includes Elite subscriptions and log on bonuses. Cancel your Elite subscriptions, and do NOT log on to Tera for any log on bonuses. If there is still no response from EME and BHS by the end of these 7 days, the duration will be extended to the entire month of May. There’s a good chance that EME and BHS will offer something to encourage people to log on throughout the month of May. It is imperative that NO ONE logs on. We have to use our ability as consumers to tell EME and BHS that we want them to take action on issues that have been ignored. Issues such as:
More transparent communication between EME, BHS, and the community
Optimization

Character Desynchronization

     We will be following in the footsteps of another community that has done this successfully. <https://youtu.be/VumE84dxOFE>. This community boycotted a game for 24 hours, and they did it against Ubisoft, a company that is FAR larger than EME and BHS, and has several other games they make a profit off of. EME and BHS mainly make a profit off of only Tera. If the For Honor community can do it, this community can do it, too.

     Tell as many of your fellow TERA players about this event as you can. This will only work if people participate. Feel free to spread this around anywhere people will read it, like Reddit, Facebook, Discord, or private chat rooms. Thank you for your time and support.
