Wonderland 4.9

[Sissel is walking along the side of a busy motorway with the ghosts of Zach, Goldberg and Kenzie. The side of the road is covered in grass and bushes, with the left of them all being a large hill with trees on the other side. Kenzie and Zach are ahead, Zach gripping tightly onto his throat, while Sissel is staying next to Goldberg.]

Sissel:		Are we nearly there yet?

		[A few cars drive by, drowning out Sissel. Goldberg looks to him in confusion.]

Goldberg:	[shouting] What did you say?

Sissel:		[shouting] Are we nearly there yet?

Goldberg:	[shouting] Hey angel lady!

		[Kenzie turns around.]

Goldberg:	[shouting] Are we nearly there yet?

		[Kenzie turns to Zach and asks. He shakes his head, making Kenzie look to them and give a thumbs down.]

Sissel:		[groaning] Great.

		[Sissel turns to Goldberg.]

Sissel:		[loud] Is she still following us?

		[Goldberg turns around. In the distance, Liv is quickly moving towards Sissel. Goldberg sighs, looking to Sissel.]

Goldberg:	[shouting] I think that she’s about to tackle you.

		[Sissel groans, holding his head in the air.]

Sissel:		[shouting] Okay, you guys go ahead and find the Rabbit. I’m gonna deal with her.

		[Goldberg gives a thumbs up, running up to the group as more cars speed by. He gets their attention, talking to them but completely drowned out by the traffic. Sissel takes a deep breath and blinks, the three vanishing. Behind him, Liv very quickly moves up behind Sissel.]
Liv:		[shouting] Hey!

		[Sissel turns, screams and punches Liv across the face. She falls to the side a bit, Sissel holding back a smirk before returning to a shocked face.]

Sissel:		[shocked] Liv! What… you scared the crap out of me!

Liv:		[angry] Oh fuck off!

Sissel:		[shouting] What?

		[Liv quickly turns to Sissel, punching him in the face. He falls onto the floor.]

Liv:		[angry] That’s for lying to me!

		[Sissel starts pulling himself onto his feet, but Liv suddenly grabs him by the shirt and pins him to the floor.]

Sissel:		[shouting] Hey!

Liv:		[shouting] What are you hiding?

		[Sissel looks at her confused. The cars clear up slightly, but a large lorry drives by honking its horn.]

Sissel:		[shouting] What?

Liv:		[shouting] What?

		[Sissel pushes Liv off of him, walking away from the road and upwards of the hill.]

Sissel:		[shouting] Can you leave me alone? I don’t want you following me!

Liv:		[shouting] I don’t want you hiding shit from all of us!

Sissel:		[shouting] I’m not!

Liv:		[shouting] Oh really?

		[Several cars go by, drowning out Liv as she attempted to speak. She screams and turns to face them.]

Liv:		[screaming, echoed] Go away!

		[The traffic appears to clear up after she screams, the road getting quiet. She turns around and sees Sissel looking at her, concerned.]

Sissel:		[worried] Did you just scream at cars?

Liv:		[annoyed] I’m just…! I don’t know!

Sissel:		Look, are you gonna stop following me? I’m gonna sort something out, I don’t want to have someone up my ass while I’m doing it.

		[Sissel starts walking along the top of the hill. Liv runs up next to him.]

Liv:		I will leave when you tell me exactly what is going on with you! Because, honestly, I can hardly put up with any of this right now!

Sissel:		I can tell, you were yelling at cars.

Liv:		Sissel, shut up.

Sissel:		Oh, you want me to tell you something but also to shut up? Smart!

Liv:		[angry, echoed] Sissel, quiet!

		[Sissel starts to speak but goes quickly silent, closing his mouth. He frowns, Liv sighing.]

Liv:		Thank you.

		[Sissel tries to talk again, but seems to be unable to make any noise. Liv doesn’t notice, walking slightly further ahead.]

Liv:		[annoyed] Look, I… I don’t want us to suddenly be on good terms right now because I’m still pissed. But we can’t be keeping secrets, you know that. Not with a serial killer after us.

		[Sissel tries to say something and get her attention, but can’t speak. He groans quietly.]

Liv:		[annoyed] Which is why I want I’m just a little upset that you’ve decided not to tell me what your cantrip is.

		[Sissel looks at her confused. She quickly turns to face Sissel who stops.]

Liv:		So you’re gonna tell me what your power is. Because if you don’t then I’m going to make sure the group knows and I doubt that they’re going to trust you very much with a secret like this.

		[Sissel groans again. Liv sighs.]

Liv:		[faux-calm] Seriously? What, you’re doing the silent treatment now?

		[Sissel mouths words.]

Liv:		[annoyed, echoed] For God sake, say something!

Sissel:		[quickly] I can’t talk!

		[Liv frowns in confusion, Sissel holding his throat and looking panicked.]

Liv:		[confused] Um… okay. Didn’t think you’d take that route-

Sissel:		[panicking] What the hell did you do?

Liv:		[confused] What? I didn’t do anything!

Sissel:		[panicking] I couldn’t talk!

Liv:		You can’t be serious. If you’re trying to change the subject-

Sissel:		[panicking] I’m not, I couldn’t talk!

Liv:		Seriously?

Sissel:		[panicking] Yes! How the fuck did you do that?

Liv:		Wha- Hey! I didn’t do anything!

Sissel:		[panicking] Why couldn’t I talk th-

Liv:		[echoed] Will you calm down?

		[Sissel takes one large deep breath, sighing.]

Sissel:		[calm] Right… okay, I’m fine. We’ll… deal with that later. Excuse me.

		[Sissel moves past Liv, who’s a little wide-eyed. Sissel walks off as Liv looks around, now noticing that there are no cars.]

Liv:		[excited] Okay… yeah, okay.

		[Liv turns and follows Sissel, chuckling slightly. She faces him excitedly, but he looks confused.]

Sissel:		What?

Liv:		I have a question. Just a small question.

Sissel:		What is it?

Liv:		What’s your cantrip? Because I know you have one and you’re hiding it from me and, just to remind you, I will punch you if you lie to me.

		[Sissel stops and sighs.]

Sissel:		You want to know a… cantrip?

Liv:		[echoed] Yes. Honestly, what is it?

		[Sissel hesitates for a moment.]

Sissel:		[slowly] Okay… okay, I-

		[Kenzie suddenly appears directly in front of Sissel, only centimetres away from his face.]

Kenzie:	Found him!

		[Sissel screams, stumbles back and falls over. Liv quickly moves through Kenzie and starts picking him up.]

Liv:		[confused] Oh my god, what was that? Are you okay?

Kenzie:	[nervous] Erm… s-sorry.

Sissel:		I’m fine! You’re fine!

		[Sissel swats Liv off of him.]

Sissel:		[hesitant] What… um… well-

Kenzie:	We found a motel. We think the Rabbit’s staying in there, Zach and Goldberg are spying on em. You coming? With her?

Sissel:		[hesitant] Yeah…

Liv:		Who are you talking to?

		[Sissel gets up, brushing himself off.]

Sissel:		It doesn’t matter.

Liv:		[echoed] Who are you talking to, Sissel?

		[Sissel groans, turning to Liv.]

Sissel:		A… an imaginary friend, that’s all it is! Come on!

		[Sissel turns and starts running down the road. Liv scoffs, walking behind.]

Liv:		[quietly] I can get used to this...
