  1. So, I've been here all of two months, and while I have no idea of the past, let me paint you a portrait in storyland.
  2.
  3. The world is barren, where people fight amongst themselves for scraps of whatever pleasure they can get. It's not just about survival anymore, it's about the need to trample anyone underfoot who stands in your way. The law is useless and spouts propaganda, making you feel like you're on the right side of things, or that there are simple fixes to your everyday problems that can be resolved with a bit of tough skin. The rules are meaningless, as martial law has been declared in many parts of the world, as people roam in packs and stand up to anything that doesn't fit their notion of the new society and hierarchy. Leaders are nowhere to be found, as the changing nature of wars and problems have made calls for a new government and a stronger sense of what's right and wrong fall on largely deaf ears. Meanwhile, those pockets of sentient life that have survived against the chaos are struggling to emerge as a utopia for all people, mistreated or no; they find it an uphill battle with no end in site.

  5. Pretty nice world, huh? /ridi Welcome to LTC.
  6.
  7. People don't agree with others, that's true. But let's look at facts, as pulled from LTC's website.
  8.
  9. You have one site owner. A set of only 3 moderators beyond that, one of which has been absent since before I joined in May. Then a collective of 6 moderators for tinychat, of which 5 are from the US. While I agree that most people have lives outside of LTC, the simple fact is that there is a very thin spread group for a site composed of thousands of people.
  10.
  11. And LTC is in what is probably yet another state of flux, with people having various differing opinions turning into flat out trolling/flamewar/bitchfests. You go into videochat and get harassed and/or treated like meat by various lurkers/trolls, even regular members. And the simple solution is just to 'hug it out', or ignore the person. After all, it is 'not their job'.
  12.
  13. If you don't treat it like a job, why bother doing it at all? Various other forums and sites stand on a stronger foundation than what you see here. I'm sure that you were offered this position and told that it wasn't paid from day one. And yet, you took it then, but now it becomes a job requiring payment? -shakes head-
  14.
  15. Here are my simple fixes for the problems that I see going on. If you don't agree, the reason for this post is DISCUSSION. I want opinions and feedback, since I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'm just the only one who's vocal about it. /inb4CMPunk Voice Of The Voiceless reference.
  16.
  17. NUMBER ONE: MORE MODERATION NEEDED IN BOTH THE VIDEO CHAT AND FORUMS. You ask three people to handle a site of thousands, and during the overnight hours in the US, they sleep. Same goes for video chat moderation. This is a global site, so allow the world to get a piece of help. I can think of a few very respected and trustworthy members, whether new or old, who are in various parts of the globe who can allow for nearly 24/7 assistance for forum issues, or chatroom drama. It's not a job, but it's something to take pride in because you love doing it.
