  10. Trackpad TerranToday at 6:40 PM
  11. How do you enforce your wage council then
  12. butthole entertainmentToday at 6:40 PM

  23. Trackpad TerranToday at 6:45 PM
  24. And I only added Elon musk because you failed to account for the fact that ceo types will still make it to places of power such as your wage council

  45. Don’t worry about it
  46. You’ve got a lot on your plate
  47. Like appointing the rest of the wage council
  48. Hood Reparations GangToday at 6:50 PM
  49. but anyways, so let me get this straight. you want to reorganize society such that there is a horizontal economic hierarchy because profit is exploitative. and in order to do so, some how CEOs should be paid less and workers should be paid more by an unknown metric. and all of that to achieve a society in which people can become self actualized. did i misrepresent your view khoi.
  50.
  51. butthole entertainmentToday at 6:56 PM
  52. Would you guys be okay if wages were set by the coop as a whole
  53. Hood Reparations GangToday at 6:56 PM

  63. butthole entertainmentToday at 6:57 PM

  69. Hood Reparations GangToday at 6:59 PM
  70. on the one hand he is a leftist and i require my bernie votes and on the other hand his arguments arent even valid let alone sound

  91. did ur parents take ur hood away khoi
  92. ill check the doquang files at the vatican just in case
  93. butthole entertainmentToday at 7:11 PM
  94. If it makes you guys happy I think I agree for the most part in being pragmatic to achieve short term goals but I think the discussion about how we structure society in the long term still needs to be had
  95. Hood Reparations GangToday at 7:12 PM
  96. what do u mean for the most part. are u hinting at being an accelerationist
  97. butthole entertainmentToday at 7:14 PM
  98. no
  99. I dont know enough about accelerationism to really say for sure but based off of what I do know i would say no
  100. Trackpad TerranToday at 7:14 PM
  101. Khoi just wants to reserve the right to criticize those who defend the status quo while offering no real criticisms that cannot be resolved in the current system and not even offering the inkling of an alternative system
  102. I’m sorry that was mean
  103. Where is @inc'est la vie
  104. We need his moderative powers
  105.
  106.
  107. butthole entertainmentToday at 7:19 PM
  108. I can criticize the status quo and point out the issues with it without having a complete bullet proof solution to replace it. If I say general things like more horizontally organized or less motivated by profit I'm just trying to point us in a direction that we should generally work toward
  109. When i throw out Ideas like coops Im just testing to see what sticks and you guys can point out the flaws and issuse with whatever im saying I dont mind that. I just want you guys to throw out ideas as well so im not always the one getting grilled
  110. Hood Reparations GangToday at 7:25 PM
  111. ALRIGHT DAWG. heres the thing tho. if your coop memes or other commie memes get criticized and obvs flaws are shown. you dont seem to agree
  112. with them
  113. and still hold your position
  114.
  115. butthole entertainmentToday at 7:29 PM
  116. because you aren't throwing out any alternatives and their might be elements to this discussion that Im not educated on. Like solutions to problems you guys bring up with my arguments. I mean if you want me to temporarily concede I can do that if it makes you guys feel like you won. but I dont want to just drop the idea like a stale meme
  117.
  118.
  119.
  120. Hood Reparations GangToday at 7:55 PM
  121. @butthole entertainment
  122. okay so firstly. i think its completely okay for anyone to criticize something as long as the criticism is valid.
  123.
  124. your second point doesnt make sense. why do i have to throw out an alternative for you to drop a wrong point? that would be like me saying hey shouldnt make a left turn at the stop light because youll get railed by another car. but then you say well you arent telling me if i should straight, reverse, or right so i think im just going to make a left turn anyway.
  125. i dont want you to concede to make me feel better. i want you to change your mind because we should operate on what is the most logical and reasoned argument. based on what you said so far with your arguments for an alternative system, that certainly does not seem to be the case that they are a logical solution. so yea lets not drop the idea like a stale meme.
  126.
  127. ive said before that my POV is that we should not mix morality with the market. i cant come up with a logically grounded reason to say something like a person should be paid X amount because they have derived this Y amount value without the use of a market to self determine that value and amount paid. i dont think morality can tell us how much someone should be paid. it can only tell us what is good. and if it is good that people should not be forced to starve on the streets then we have a few options for solutions right? A solution you are offering is that people should just be paid more so that they dont starve on the streets. but obvs this runs into a logistics problem of how much should they be paid and why. rather why not say that okay well this person is starving and living in the streets.
  128. A) lets figure out systemically what causes people to get to that position
  129. - mental health
  130. - cyclical poverty
  131. - racial based generational wealth issues
  132. - poor education standards, etc
  133. - Medical pricing
  134. these are all things that could be mandated as policy and have an immediate positive solution
  135.
  136. B) how do i help this person that is on the street right this second and starving.
  137. - provide infastructure for homeless housing
  138. - provide mental health institute in the housing
  139. - UBI
  140. - programs that give homeless people work and pay backed by the government.
  141.
  142.
  143. all of these things i just said are much better solutions than just increase the price someone gets paid and MORE IMPORTANTLY avoids the weird question of "morally, how much do i pay this person". and if nots stressed enough, i dont think we can answer that question from a moral framework. therefore attempting to answer that question in that way is inconsistent and illogical.
  144.
  145.
  146.

  149. You are already framing this argument as though markets are the end goal . We can agree that minimizing human suffering is a common goal we share. We recognize that capitalism was a necessary component to our history, clearly so many strides in technology science and culture were a direct result of capitalism. But like you said capitalism is a tool and alot of the issues we are facing today are integral to it .At it's core capitalism is designed to maximize profits not minimizing human suffering. From where I stand, in order for us to further reduce human suffering, which I believe is our common goal here we need to reevaluate the tools we are using and to learn from it what we can. Reformist strategy can only take us so far as an example do you think hyper reformed feudalism would have reduced human suffering as much as capitalism has... probably not.Because their are core issues with feudalism Its end goal is stability through violence rather than reducing human suffering. Why not take what we learned from capitalism to create a new societal structure in a similar way that we took what was useful from feudalism and created capitalism.
