  1. Chapter 1: Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
  2.
  3. The man prostrated in an unwilling bed, waiting for the pledge of death while looking toward his only worry child with a pale skin reflecting the unpleasant weather of the room.
  4.
  5. “Don’t worry, son… you will learn to let it go. Time will pass by around you and engorge you to keep living for a brighter dawn.”
  6.
  7. “Dad…”
  8.
  9. Seeing his own son dropping the harmful face of sorrow upon him shattered his heart, making him wish to stay a bit longer to comfort his sweet little boy, though within him knows he couldn’t.
  10.
  11. “Dear son, believe in… you, mind your steps and look at the future, you… are my pride and joy, never let yourself down and don’t let other do so.”
  12.
  13. “You can count on that, dad, your blood run through my veins after all.”
  14.
  15. They were a happy family of two; the woman once called wife and mother has been long forgotten for them, they worked hard enough to fulfill the important lacking roll it was making it possible to succeed.
  16.
  17. “I… love you.”
  18.
  19. The cancer which was eating him alive was the worst thing that had happened to him, he regretted any moment after contracted it for not taking better care on his own body; yet coming this far makes him really happy, like reaching an invisible and nonexistent goal.
  20.
  21. “I know. I love you too…”
  22.
  23. With a charismatic smile blooming in his face he answer to his father, the one who raised from countless misfortunes only to see his beloved son live a better life than what he got.
  24.
  25. He condemned the bountiful smile of his son, from the very beginning he wanted to make this departure something for this child not to worry more than it is, though that smile really gets him right in the feels, making him to lose tears to non-stop.
  26.
  27. “Son, really take care of you, I… love you.”
  28.
  29. In the last gasp of life his vision blurred instantly, making him enter in panic due to the abnormal situation in which he’s now. Forced to make sense of what he can’t see, the before feelings of incapacity and tiredness were no more and now only confusion lingers within him.
  30.
  31. What is happening where am I my voice I cant talk my son where is he why is all blurry my chest is feeling oppressed am I dying or did I just died ah Im feeling dizzy my arms feels weird but i can move clumsy moves like it feels that isnt my body.
  32. While looking around trying to adjust his eyes he saw himself in a vast room as far as his eyes perceive, finally be able to see, to see his own arms, hands, feet…
  33.
  34. Damn I was in the emergency room just now the hell is going on what is this body what happened to my son this tattered clothes why Im wearing these I cant catch a clue dammit gotta leave here must be someone or something to guess whats going on.
  35.
  36. While trying to move fast as much as he could to look for a door, a window or anything to make a sense of his predicament, but no matter how hard he tried, that feeble body of him yet at the very moment that body tumbled in a bed of frustration.
  37.
  38. At that moment he grasp his powerless state, tears dropped from bellow his chin like a newborn struggling for breath, without knowing what’s happening, having a tiny field of view and everything around looking so big built up an agoraphobia sensation inhibiting every possible way of inner peace. Amidst the agonizing strife which was distressing him arms with gentle touch embrace him to the chest. The not so beautiful girl sways him in calm and love as she too sings with a rough voice what would be a lovely lullaby if it wasn’t for her vocals.
  39.
  40. “Better now, right? You’re a nice and handsome boy after all.”
  41.
  42. As he was soothed up by this warm girl, he realized the place where he stood, nevertheless still without know why he’s there or who the person holding him is, but amidst the form of anxiety and security whereas being in her bosom his natural instinct visualize her as a mother albeit looking young enough to be sixteen years old.
  43.
  44. One can tell the place which seems like a living room has a wooden floor and a mix of wooden and stone walls, the ceiling is absurdly high and the arrange of the room very simplistic, isn’t something you can just figure out that is a poor or rich place, more like it was choose to look like this for a reason. The site was bathed in an orange color of dusk, giving a beautiful yet melancholy melody moving through each corner of the aesthetic place.
  45.
  46. “Let’s go outside for a short stroll and to get some fresh air. You’ve been in the house the whole day.”
  47.
  48. While he was being carried up and his face cleaned up, they went through a large double door. As far as one’s eyes can see only magnificent arid plains are seen, making you think why you would like to live in such unnatural place, as he look back he sees the house, it was simplistic inside, but outside is a deteriorated place, for him in was abnormal all the light inside, now is clearly that is because all those holes that it has.
  49.
  50. “The view is not that pretty, but is more than I deserve… Here we don’t need to be afraid of any monster in the neighborhood or bad persons. I’m sure we will live a nice life.”
  51.
  52. As the time passed by, they walk down the road in a desolated place with just one tiny house in the vicinity surrounded by trees and bushes lacking of the virtues of nature. Those kinds of location were only known by the poorest and unfortunate people. Unknowing of the reality in this world and only this tiny and crude place called from now on home made an intense bite on his mind, marking it with the poisonous teeth of reality.
  53.
  54. ---------------
  55.
  56. As the years goes on like clouds running away from the south winds, the eighth year has ended, with the change of weather, people age and life appears and disappears. The child was living down peacefulness time at the most far away north region strife at the command of her mother.
  57.
  58. “Put your knee higher, straighten your back more and flex just a bit those arms of yours.”
  59.
  60. “Mom is really hard to do this, I’ve started yesterday and I’m tired, don’t wanna keep doing it.”
  61.
  62. “Don’t say that, I know it is hard, I lived it too, but it’s necessary at your age, later it will be more difficult. Look, the basic here is make your body memorize the correct, in life you can’t always go around thinking, your body need to experience to take decisions by its own so you can use your brain for another cause. The faster you take action the faster you will be safe at any circumstance.”
  63.
  64. Growing up to the age of 9, he begins to train the body of a future man worthy of live, he with the love of a child to his mother practice with it is told to do, complaining in a childish way suited for the time.
  65.
  66. “Just go slowly son, try to correct yourself alone, even when not doing exercises you need to have an straight back, relaxed yet not floppy arms nor legs. You will grow really handsome and beautiful as I am.”
  67.
  68. “Really?”
  69.
  70. “Of course, I don’t lie. Hmm… let’s have a break for now.”
  71.
  72. “Do you have a dream or something, son? Anything is fine, all dreams are good, just tell me.”
  73.
  74. “Living in a better place!”
  75.
  76. “That’s pretty dream! There, you’re such a pretty boy. Is there more?”
  77.
  78. “Marry mom.”
  79.
  80. “Such a sweet thing, I will gladly marry you back.”
  81.
  82. The only thing I can do is nod to her being a kid again is really stressing due to not sure how to act as a kid aaah well damn shes cute and I really wont mind to marry her and all but each time and see her more than a mother rather than a girl and shes only twenty three years old how she ended up like that.
  83.
  84. “Mom, why are we here?”
  85.
  86. “Hmm… Do you mean how we ended in this house out of nowhere?”
  87.
  88. “Yes.”
  89.
  90. The young girl sigh in exasperation, even though the boy is still young she knows is better to not avoid this subject, she’s already teaching him the ways to defend himself for his future. As she bites her lips she began to talk.
  91.
  92. Edith Bjørg Miller was the second child of the House Miller knows for traders and politicians. At the age of twelve she lost her big brother by and assassination which made her the principal successor and ended up married to a man she didn’t love. Her family on the other hand worked underwater deals to find the murder of their son with the help of the House Boyum, where they married their daughter, and after some years they found out the same family they put their hopes on were the culprit. In intent to show this to the authorities they were ignored, the next day killed and the case was closed under the excuse that one of their dealer killed them. Their daughter now with a child of one year old was exiled under the excuse of assisted them on black deals and they took off her properties, last name, contracts, money and her voice. At the age of fourteen she was left at the border of the country with her baby, where she began her journey to the nearest city where her citizenship was rejected but was given an isolated house some hours far from the there.
  93.
  94. Being lost in his own thoughts while moving forward is how youth works, the day broke and the night is bowing its welcome. Grow is something that swim through the bottomless fountain of experience, just a nip of what a person should acknowledge as life is was he’s grabbing now for the first time since having conscience of his own here.
  95.
  96. “No, no, no, repeat again ‘Sketch the trees and the daffodils’, use the correct emphasis and don’t accelerate.”
  97.
  98. “Sketch the trees and the daffodils. Catch the breeze and the winter chills. In colors on the snowy linen land.”
  99.
  100. “Not yet, but at least you’re improving, let’s end it here, keep practicing that part and read the rest of the lyrics.”
  101.
  102. “Yee, mom.”
  103.
  104. Practice makes perfect. Living in a world where magic is a crucial basic need, he is being taught by his mother the simplest of all, [Starry night], after all a world without moons or stars is the darkest of all, that much was a shocking true, nights are cold as glaciers and dark as black, a normal person can’t see through at least they use an spell or having an actual strong light to illuminate.
  105.
  106. Magic is art, as art came in many forms and shapes; one of them is music, knowing the correct way of pronunciation, timing and order is the very basic through the path of ludicrous changes of perceptions like one’s eyes can see the stone set in your eyes.
  107.
  108. Knowing a little of music from my previous world comes handy but Im far from understand the depths of the magic music of here aaah damn been an English teacher wont help here at all.
  109.
  110. “How can I have more magic?”
  111.
  112. “That’s simple, just two ways, one is to eat a poisonous stone that will kill you most certainly, the second is just using magic, the more you use it the better, but even if sounds easy, it is not, the time spent on using magic is a lot and the skills that can give you better results aren’t easy to learn, even if you know one the strain that will cause you will make you desist of trying. Also, the body has limits of how much magic can contain, it is say that the bigger the body the bigger the magic, it’s a theory though.”
  113.
  114. My word aint I doing just fine but Im really detached of something
  115.
  116. “Are you done with magic? It’s time for some weapons practice.”
  117.
  118. “Before that, I have another question.”
  119.
  120. “What is it?”
  121.
  122. “Why are you making me wear girl clothes?”
  123.
  124. “Ah… those are the only clothes I could get, they belongs to a family of just one child, so they gave me the ones she doesn’t use anymore. But they look good on you, you’re pretty.”
  125.
  126. “Hmm…”
  127.
  128. Feeling stressed out, his only way out is just keep looking further for a brighter future to come, space may be the final frontier, but it’s made in a human’s mind.
  129.
  130. ---------------
  131.
  132. Life is a mystery; no one knows what can happen due to the countless possibilities for each person to meet. Even in the stream of one’s life is meaningless the try to predict each day as they come one by one. The prelude of a dawn destroys a night, the day destroying a beautiful dawn, a dusk possessing a labored day, and a night serving itself a dusk to gobble up.
  133.
  134. The wind of change moves recklessly as ashes flies above the devious thoughts of one child looking at the depression shaped into a carbonized body lying over thrilled stones. The mother, being ditched by her family, friends and husband and cast away to a desolated place to rot only after being beaten until destroy her voice, raised the little boy while shedding tears of blood only to make him see the positive of the world, yet she failed, even before she could regret anything she was out of life after securing her beloved one.
  135.
  136. One day is enough the change a 57 years old life time. Life is very unjust and as unreasonable as it is, he swore that all elves will pay with their freedom, they will learn never again run a war over his head.
  137.
  138. Once the putrid skies began to clear and the twilight rays danced to their deaths, no bird sung or cried when Joshua woke and walked alone.
