            enough, wiring has been haphazardly attached to the walls and run
            up into the ceiling.
           An exquisite marble bench stands here.
 A staircase leads up.
 In the corner, a vending machine has been installed.  A company directory is
 mounted on the wall.  Bolted to the wall here is a matte black box with a
 single, pulsing red LED light.  Clearly, this is the Internet.  The light means
 it's working.
