  18. ☼ I THINK THIS IS IT FOR US
  19.
  20. BIRTHPLACE : Newcastle, UK
  21. HOMETOWN : Newcastle, UK
  22. LANGUAGE(S):
  23.     ° English > fluent
  24.     ° Mandarin > fluent
  25.
  26. FAMILY : name | relation | blood | occupation | closeness 1-10
  27.     ° Liang Jinyi | father | pureblood | artist (both for selling his works and illustrations for magic textbooks) | 10
  28.     ° Kuang Ming | mother | pureblood | auror for the Ministry of Magic Chinese division | -8
  29.
  30. BACKGROUND : Liang Jinyi grew up moving back and forth between England and China, as his mother worked for the Ministry, and her job had her spend time at both divisions. When he was 22, he was staying in China to finish college and met Kuang Ming, and though he had found the woman he wanted to be with. He had always wanted children, and it wasn’t until he was 24 and Ming was pregnant that he learned she didn’t want any. While she was pregnant, he began to see a lot more of her that he didn’t like. He had wanted her to be “the one,” and was blind to just how cold and uncaring she was. Once she had Alex, he took the her and moved to England, permanently, this time.
  31.     Things were never really hard on them. Alex was extremely close with her father and had never really cared to know who her mother was or why she wasn’t around. It was because of him that she fell in love with painting, and he supported her passion for it in all ways, as he was a professional artist himself. Her and her father have the kind of relationship in which they have always felt like equals. He has never tried to hide anything from her and vice versa. He has always treated her like an adult.
  32.     She has always known she was a witch. Her father had even taught her spells to help with painting before she went to Hogwarts (even though that’s technically against the rules). Also against the rules, whenever she’s home for the summer, he lets her use magic. (If I remember correctly, they only know what magic is coming from a certain household, not who exactly is using the magic, therefore, she can’t get in trouble for this.)
  33.
  34. ☼ YOU SAY,
  35.
  36. SLOT : Zig Zag
  37. BACKUP SLOT : Mama Don’t Worry
  38.
  39. PERSONALITY : Being clever and being smart are two completely different things. Alex is clever. She has good instincts and knows how to use them, but if you were to hand her a math worksheet, she’d probably use it to hit you with, instead of answering the problems on it. She really doesn’t care about her grades. As long as she’s learning what she needs to know and is able to graduate, she’s not going to worry about that extra worksheet or that essay she hasn’t finished (or started, for that matter).
  40.     She doesn’t like the “in-the-box” structure of schooling and grades. She likes to work at her own pace, and leave stuff alone once she feels she knows it, instead of testing on it repeatedly. This attitude stems from her artistic passion and ability. She finds more joy in painting or drawing, because every new art piece is different, unlike the answering the same questions on three different worksheets over and over to get a good score.
  41.     She doesn’t mind getting dirty (that sounds wrong. Eh, details). Whether she’s covered in paint from working six hours straight on perfecting a painting of the skyline or her clothes are sticky with the mix of mud and rain from sitting in the forest or playing Quidditch, she doesn’t care. As long as she’s getting something done.
  42.     She’s earned herself a bit of a reputation around Hogwarts. She is a bit of a loner and sticks to herself, which comes from preferring the peaceful silent of painting alone and her independent and stubborn nature. You’re going to have a hard time convincing her or anything that goes against what she thinks is right or what should be done. She doesn’t like mixing with everyone else, and tends to stand off to the side, adding in her sarcastic, usually bitter or rude, comments about everything. She has a sharp tongue and seems to have a response to everything, which makes a lot of the teachers not like her. Even though she doesn’t necessarily enjoy socializing, she still wants what she has to say about things to be heard.
  43.     Alex has a lot of self-confidence. This might come from her being a Ravenclaw, because she is always confident in everything she has to say, and this is another reason why she says a lot of side-comments.
  44.     She hates being told what to do. She’ll find a way to make someone think they’re getting what they want, when it’s really her who getting her way. She is very independent.
  45.     Alex isn’t really afraid of everything (this goes along with her reputation of being a badass). She’ll take on the bludger that has already given two kids concussions and bloody noses without flinching. She doesn’t have a care about the repercussions of her words, even if she’s talking back to a teacher. That spooky noise down the hall that has all of the younger years freaked out? Yeah, she walk down there, casually spinning her wand in her hand (a habit of hers) without a second thought.
  46.     When she’s not responding sarcastically, her face doesn’t hesitate to show just how exasperated or disappointed she is. Eye rolls, smirks, head shakes—she doesn’t hide her opinions on things.
  47.     She would honestly prefer to be up in her studio working on some new project than she would to be out in the commons’ room...socializing. She doesn't particularly like other people, and she doesn’t bother to hide this.
  48.     Despite this, if she were to find a group of friends who she can deal with and who can put up with her, her loyalty would surprise even her. She wouldn’t be one to stand by and watch her friends getting talked down to her hurt. Even if it would get her in trouble or put her in danger, she would do anything for them. In this way, she’s also very protective.
  49.     Going along with the who “protective” thing, she’s very possessive of her things. If something is hers or some space is hers, no one is allowed to use it. She enjoys having her privacy and her space. Again, with friends, this would get much more loose.
  50.     She likes to keep her emotions in. And, when they inevitably all try to pour out, she’ll lock herself in her studio or just somewhere where she’s certain to be alone, and paint it all away. She doesn’t like showing her emotions to others, because it makes her feel weak and vulnerable, and she can’t stand that.
  51.     When Alex is painting or playing Quidditch or something like that, she'll get in the zone and there's really nothing that get get her out of it. If someone talks to her, she won't even realize they're there. She focuses entirely on the task at hand, and becomes basically dead to the world. She gets whatever she's going done, though.
  52.
  53. LIKES :
  54.     ° Alex loves apples > if it was healthy to eat only apples, she would be perfectly alright with that
  55.     ° rain and thunderstorms > she loves to sit in her studio
  56.     ° hot tea > a cup of tea, a rainstorm, a sketchbook and a high window is all she really needs to feel at peace
  57.     ° heights > her childhood home was a rooftop apartment + her father would always paint on the roof and keep the paintings up there to dry, so it was like walking through an art gallery on a roof + she loves the view
  58.
  59. DISLIKES :
  60.     ° loud places > she prefers the quiet, because it lets her think
  61.     ° blood feuds (i.e. muggleborn vs. pureblood vs. halfblood) > to Alex, your bloodline means nothing ; it’s just red blood or lines on a pedigree ; this might be because she has never met nor care to meet her mother
  62.     ° children > she finds them whiny and annoying, there's not much to say here
  63.
  64. TRIVIA :
  65.     ° she dyed her hair blonde when she was 16, and has kept it that way ever since
  66.     ° occasionally, she’ll have her cat walk in paint, and then across a canvas > she likes the challenge of trying to paint something cohesive with the random patterns of her cat’s paws
  67.     ° doesn’t go anywhere without a sketchbook > if she suddenly gets inspiration (or bored), she’s not going to wait to start drawing
  68.     ° keeps a pencil or a paintbrush tucked behind her ear at all times > like with the sketchbook, she always needs to have something she can be drawing with at all times, even if she’s simply running a dry paintbrush over a table ; she feels naked without these
  69.     ° Alex has managed to convince the Head of the Ravenclaw house to let her use one of the top rooms of the towers as a studio > she had to offer to paint murals along the walls of that teacher’s classroom, but it wasn’t too bad of a trade ; she spends most of her free time in there ; it has lots of windows and the floor is covered in paint supplies and drop canvases
  70.     ° she’s not a fan of technology > she knows how to use Muggle electronics quite well, but prefers the old-style of pen (or quill or paintbrush) and paper
  71.     ° three piercings > one is a lip ring on the right of her bottom lip and the other two are cartilage piercings in her left ear
  72.     ° she bites her lip a lot > she does this when she’s focusing
  73.     ° when she’s in class or walking around, she prefers to have her hair down, but when’s she’s painting or playing Quidditch, she has it swept up into a bun > which is kind of difficult, because her hair goes down to her waist
  74.     ° she got her first broomstick when she was eight, and loves to fly > she likes being able to get different views of things ; there are times when she’ll just sit on her broomstick, and sketch something out in midair
  75.
  76. ☼ PLEASE MEET SOMEONE GOOD
  77.
  78. HOUSE : Ravenclaw
  79. YEAR : 7th year (17 y/o)
  80.
  81. QUIDDITCH : Alex isn’t really into watching Quidditch, but she loves to play. She’s one of the Beaters, because she’s great with riding a broomstick without using her hands. Like with when she’s painting or drawing, she gets in the zone during a Quidditch game, and nothing can break her out of that. She’s great with silently working with her team while they’re playing, but she tends to disappear after the games, whether they win or not.
  82.
  83. BEST SUBJECT :
  84.     ° Core Class: Transfiguration > it involves imagining what the thing will look like once it has changes and, being an artist, Alex has a very clear imagination. She rarely messes up here
  85.     ° Elective: Art and Muggle Art > she knows art well, being an artist herself
  86. WORST SUBJECT :
  87.     ° The History of Magic > there’s more reading than there are pictures to explain it to Alex. she needs pictures, graphs, etc, she can draw in order to “get” something
  88.
  89. PET :
  90.     ° Onyx > black cat
  91. WAND :
  92.     ° phoenix core > phoenix cores tend to have a mind of their own, and it took a while for Alex to tame it. And even then, she still struggles at time to get it to work with her. Although, there are a lot of times when it helps her. If she isn’t saying or doing a spell right (usually because she doesn’t care), the core will make the result correct
  93.     ° larch wood > like the core, this wood makes the wand more difficult to handle, but, these wands are usually fit for witches with hidden talents and unexpected effects, much like Alex. This wood pairs well with it’s phoenix core in helping teach Alex how to properly cast spells
  94.     ° slightly flexible > although Alex seems very independent and unbending from her own ways, she is quite adaptable to any new situation
  95.     ° 11 ½ inches
  96.
  97. PATRONUS :
  98.     ° White wolf > like wolves, Alex is very independent, yet knows how to work well with a team when it comes down to it. She share the same silent, yet intimidating vibe wolves give off
  99. OTHER : n/a
  100.
  101. ☼ I GUESS OUR LOVE
  102.
  103. LOVE INTEREST : Yoongi
  104. BACKUP LOVE INTEREST : Namjoon
  105.
  106. ( this is written for Yoongi, not Namjoon )
  107.
  108. PERSONALITY : Yoongi is much more laid-back than many people. Much like Alex, he prefers the quiet to the chaotic. He keeps a journal in which he simply writes. Whether fiction, his thoughts on something, whatever, it helps him to relax. He has an intimidating aura, and, even though he tends to speak quietly, his words can silence a room, and very few people want to argue with him. He makes a lot of jokes, even if they’re just side comments, and enjoys playing games, but only with people who are close to him.
  109.
  110. HOW DID THEY MEET : The first time they actually acknowledged one another’s presence and spoken was when Alex yelled at Yoongi for almost stepping on one of her paintings (it was sitting on the floor to dry, because it was the kind of paint that would easily drip). Yoongi was up there, because his usual quiet place was occupied a large group of people. Usually, he would yell at them to get out, but he wasn’t in the mood. So, he was looking for a new place to sit and write and stumbled upon her studio.
  111. FIRST IMPRESSIONS :
  112.     ° Alex: “What the hell is he doing here?” She was quite pissed off at him for invading her sacred space. She felt he was kind of rude, but she was no better. She had only heard the rumors of his intimidating looks and how “scary” he is to the younger years, and she was intrigued to find that he liked the quiet as much as she did.
  113.     ° Yoongi: He felt she was a bit of a bitch (let’s face it, she is), but also liked that she met his every quip with one of her own.
  114.
  115. HOW DOES HE ACT AROUND HER :
  116.     ° Beginning: She interested him, and the same went the other way. He hadn’t really met anyone with the same kind of sarcastic tone as him, and he liked that he felt like they were on an equal level whenever they spoke. That is to say, the other wasn’t intimidated, arrogant, etc.
  117.     ° Middle: By the middle, they’re slowly getting comfortable around one another. They make a lot more jokes, that instead of for the intention of shutting down the other person, leave it open for rebuttal.
  118.     ° End: By this point, there aren’t any boundaries. They’re as comfortable with one another as sibling would be, and they treat each other as such. They bicker constantly. To outsiders, it seems like they hate each other, but this is just how they show their love
  119. HOW DOES SHE ACT AROUND HIM :
  120.     ° Beginning: He was a nuisance, at first. He had kind of invited himself into her studio, because he knew no one else would dare, so it would be peaceful. She would always say something sarcastic about how he’s a just intruded on her space, and trying to get him to leave, but, at the same time, she had been alone for a while, and enjoyed the quiet company.
  121.     ° Middle: They spend a lot of time with each other in the studio, which leads to a lot of rumors. As they’re both inclined to be loners (despite Yoongi having the other Bangtan boys), they tend to stick with one another during pairs or groups in class.
  122.     ° End: They make a lot of rude comments about the other, but can get away with it. If anyone else tried to say some of the things they say, that person would get beaten so quickly, their head would spin. They share a lot of things with each other, more than they’ve shared with anyone else. Yoongi shares his writings, and Alex shares some of the sketches she’s never shown anyone, because they were made when she was really emotional.
  123.
  124. RELATIONSHIP : They become close friends (If, when you’re writing, you see a different ending, by all means, go with that.)
  125. RELATIONSHIP TRIVIA : (this is pretty much only towards the middle and end)
  126.     ° they can sit in silence and not be awkward > usually Alex is painting and Yoongi is writing or sleeping
  127.     ° they’re only friends in the first place because Yoongi kept going to the studio, and, eventually, Alex learned to just deal with it
  128.     ° although it has started a lot of rumors, they don’t seem to understand this idea of “personal space”. They don’t care who’s looking, if one of them is sitting on a couch, the other will probably end up laying with their head in their lap or using them as a footrest
  129.     ° if you want to mess with one of them, you had better be prepared for the fight you’re about to get from the other. They’re not one’s to let someone talk down to the other
  130.     ° they share food and drinks, and don’t even care. This goes along with the lack of personal space. If one of them is eating or drinking something, it’s pretty much free range for the other
  131.
  132. ☼ WAS MORE SHALLOW THAN I THOUGHT…
  133.
  134. SCENE SUGGESTIONS :
  135.     ° them fighting something or someone, and Alex breaking a painting over that person/thing’s head and knocking them out. Then, shouting that she really liked that one, and that they owe her for chasing it into her studio
  136.     ° someone coming in to talk to her about something really important, and talking for a while before realizing that Alex is painting, so she’s not didn’t even realize that person was there
  137.     ° a Quidditch game
  138.     ° someone/thing being pushed out of the window of Alex’s studio
  139.     ° Alex punching someone. Usually, she’s more bark than bite, because she knows to keep a lid on her emotions, so this would come as a surprise to everyone
  140.         ° Afterwards, Alex simply shaking out her fist, and gesturing for someone else to handle the situation from there, while she stood at their back like a guard
  141.     ° maybe meeting her mother? Like, she transfers to the UK division of the MoM, and they sent Aurors to Hogwarts
  142.     ° Yoongi dragging Alex with him to spend time with the Bangtan boys
  143.         ° I just feel like, with her cold reputation around the school, some of the boys would fall for this, and it could be funny
  144.     ° a time when someone/thing sneaks up on her while she's painting, and it doesn't end well (like, she gets kidnapped or something. Idk where you're planning on taking this story.)
  145.
  146. NOTE TO ME : I always consider myself a Ravenclaw, but, while researching my character for this story, I got sorted into Slytherin...I’m not that surprised...Also, even if you don’t accept my character, I hope it was at least an interesting read!
  147. ANYTHING ELSE : n/a
