  4.        wc - print newline, word, and byte counts for each file

  6. SYNOPSIS
  7.        wc [OPTION]... [FILE]...
  8.        wc [OPTION]... --files0-from=F
  9.  
  10. DESCRIPTION
  11.        Print newline, word, and byte counts for each FILE, and a total line if more than one FILE is specified.  With no FILE, or when FILE is -, read standard input.  A word is a non-zero-length sequence of characters delimited by
  12.        white space.  The options below may be used to select which counts are printed, always in the following order: newline, word, character, byte, maximum line length.

  15.               print the byte counts

  17.        -m, --chars
  18.               print the character counts
  19.  
  20.        -l, --lines
  21.               print the newline counts
  22.  
  23.        --files0-from=F
  24.               read input from the files specified by NUL-terminated names in file F; If F is - then read names from standard input

  26.        -L, --max-line-length
  27.               print the length of the longest line

  29.        -w, --words
  30.               print the word counts
