  1. In his second special, Bo delves more into the “challenges of the form”, as he describes, with his comedy. The song, or rather one-man show, “Left Brain, Right Brain” is a perfect example of Bo delving more into his own psyche and talking about himself. In the song he begins with a science experiment that separates the two parts of him brain, the left and the right respectively. The left brain being more analytic and precise, while the right brain is fun and in his own words “has feelings.” The song begins with simply describes what the two sides are about but they delve into something more serious. Around the middle of the song the two sides get in an argument and begin to insult each other. While the left brain brings up Bo’s own depression and how he feels that the side more dedicated to “feelings” has failed him and left him sad and alone. The right brain thus brings up that the left brain tries to dominate in everything while leaving the right brain alone and not as used or felt less important. As Bo says as the right brain “Half of his problems were supposed to be mine but you wanted everything. I hope that you're happy, 'cause he's sure not.” But as the song progresses the brains decide to unite as one and be able to cope with his emotions while also pleasing himself on the left brain at the same time. The brains decide to unite with comedy, and using it as a coping device to try to make Bo happy. This shows how Bo feels about himself and why he chose to go into the world of show business in the first place.
