Subj: The current election

Greetings, citizens


I first want to make a few things clear. I consider Bonko my friend, nor
do I have anything against the Order of Oblivion. Some clarifications
need to be made, however, so that we all understand fully the weight of
this election.

Based on observations, as well as discussing the matter with other
citizens, both of rank and otherwise, many of those I have spoken to, as
well as myself, feel that Bonko has been using his position as Archon
more to serve Oblivion than Ashtan. People are receiving cityfavours
inconsistent with performance, or for such false reason as can be
concocted to hide favoritism. Bonko has on several occasions enemied
people for situations in which he himself was involved, or situations
involving his Order. The reason we have seven Archons is so that
situations in which one Archon is biased or situations in which bias
could legitimately be percevied do not have to occur. Many years I spent
living in the shadow of the Darkwalkers controlling Hashan. More than
most do I likely know the outward signs of political corruption, which I
now very sadly see in Ashtan.

Furthermore, there are some among us who can no longer trust Bonko. As
their leader, he destroyed their Icon and stole their assets. Whether or
not this was merely entertainment or a means of revenge, how can we be
sure he will not be capable of this level of betrayal, should Ashtan
ever earn his ire?

Few friends and even more enemies shall I earn with these words, I do
not doubt. Loathe have I been to involve myself in this sort of partisan
movement, but we have reached the uttermost need.
