background: chaerin doesn’t have a depressing backstory, nor does she have a happy one. chaerin grew up in busan, south korea, she has one older brother. he never really seemed like a brother because of a nine year age gap, so she basically grew up an only child. her father and mother worked simple 9 to 5 office jobs, so chaerin learned to grow up quite quickly. since she grew up with busy parents, she often stayed by herself in her room, playing with her stuffed animal ‘cuppy’. when growing up, many boys had crushes on her, often receiving a rejection after confessing. because of this, she didn’t have many friends, girls jealous of her looks. she wasn’t builled, more so ignored. i like to think since she was ignored by her family and acquaintances, this is why she is so clingy and why she loves all her groupmates.

personality: i feel like chaerin would be one of those little kids who ask you to be their friend at the park, and then cry when you leave. she is also one of those people who almost constantly needs to be touching someone. along with that, she probably has a mild case of fomo (fear of missing out), with the fear of being alone included. she probably is “picked on” the most out of everyone, the quotations is because in all actuality, they just tease her about being cute and they pinch her cheeks. she seems like the type to laugh off a mean joke, but cry about it later alone. if she ever feels uncomfortable, she stands by boss’ side, her presence simply calms chaerin. out of all the members, i think stylists would give her the cuter hairstyles (i.e pigtails, hearts, braids, constantly curled hair).

how she became a trainee: she was scouted when she was out with her mom. her mom was extremely against it until she saw how invested chaerin was.

trainee life: her trainee days weren’t as bad as many. her stage persona carried her far, and her over-sensitivity made trainers love her and care for her. her troubles came when it came to singing. her vocals are decent, rocky when dancing but pretty much solid, but trainers tended to underestimate her because she was only scouted.
