Examined:
Slender stems of bright platinum, adorned with glittering thorns and
vibrant emerald leaves, spiral and twist lazily about each other to form
an intricate latticework of polished metal and brilliant gems. Each
delicate leaf bears the rose's signature ruffled edges and is bound and
veined by tiny platinum filaments, but the most impressive aspect of the
sconce is the profusion of lush, heavy rose blossoms that lend their
colour to the light of the fragrant candle flickering within. Every
translucent petal is gracefully curved, spiralling outward from the
central whorl in gentle arcs that reveal subtle variations in colour;
ivory and blush, coral and cinnabar all fade seamlessly into one another
to create a luminosity, a depth of tone that captures the very essence
of the sweetly-scented, sun-warmed blooms. A small, vine-shaped platinum
