naomi was born in akita, a prefecture in northern japan. she stayed there with her mother and her grandmother while her father moved around different countries for work, coming back often to visit, until she was four years old. at that age, her father found a new job and was based in new york. her mother and herself moved out to join him.

as she was around adults for most of her childhood and didn't have much interaction with children her age, she came off as very matured, and didn't make friends very easily. seeing this, her mother signed her up for various classes when she was in elementary school. while she did acquire some friends, what she essentially got from that was an affinity for performing and a passion for it.

when naomi was fifteen, she decided to sign up for a summer program in seoul, intensively studying korean due to her enjoyment in learning languages and with encouragement from her parents. while in seoul, she was scouted by her entertainment label while shopping with friends in dongdaemun. the rest is history.

—personality:

on the surface, she is very chic, restrained, cool and serious. she seems to be very mature, calm and composed; with little affecting her. she also seems like a very deep and philosophical person. while all of this is true to a certain extent, that isn't all there is to her. she's usually seen with a blank face or a deadpanned look.

when you really get to know her, you'll see that she's actually a lot less chic than she lets on and is actually quite the drama queen. she's full of random information, and is gluttonous and lethargic all the time. she's very attached to her bed. in fact, the only she likes more than  sleeping is performing on stage, her family, eating, a select handful of friends and her phone.

while she is capable of being serious, 99% of the time when she looks deep in thought or as if she's contemplating something very hard, she's actually wondering what to eat or counting down the time till she can take a nap. she's actually a bit childish and innocent in that aspect. moreover, she's actually a bit socially awkward when meeting new people, which causes her to be quiet and adds to the mysterious impression she leaves on people. she opens up and warms up to people fairly quickly and can actually talk for hours when she's talking about something she loves.

not the kind of person who people assume have a lot to say, she is actually very honest and straightforward. with strong opinions and a blunt personality, she won't hesitate to speak her mind no matter how rude it might make her seem. she will confront people about things rather than talk behind their backs. she doesn't take shit from anyone and is the reigning queen of comebacks, with a quick quip or a comment at the ready. take her down, and she drag you down to hell with her.

she is also a touchy-feely kind of person, and is cool with skinship and all that jazz; despite what her initial impression might leave. it's funny because her face is usually completely devoid of emotion even when she hugs people or glomps them.

—how do they meet/first impressions:

* they bumped into each other predebut when they performed at the same kpop festival showcase. she walked into their dressing room and chilled there because she read the room label wrong. he was nice enough to lead her back to her proper waiting room.
* she was pretty unfazed about finding out she was in the wrong room. completely un-embarrassed. he thought she was a bit stiff and really formal. only later (when she speaks english [if I get hansolie]) on the walk to her room, he realizes that she's actually a foreigner and is strangely quirky. especially since she rambled on for the greater part of the trip, and produced a snickers bar and gave it to him as thanks.
* she thought he was seriously nice. she thought he'd be "chic and flower boy-like", but he was more than what he expected and it surprised her. she thought he was a nice person to talk to.

I'm just going to write a whole bunch of scene suggestions that may or may not make any sense whatsoever?? I'm sorry- this is going to be hella long.

* since she has her weird ass sleeping habit of hugging things, how about a scene where she was working on the choreography overtime and just exhausted herself- ending up asleep on the floor of the practice room hugging her shoe. her crush finds her and decides to be a nice person and at least move her to the couch, but the moment he removes the shoe from her grasp, she latches onto him and hugs him in a death grip- still completely ko.
* she goes on a convenience store run one day for an after practice meal late in the night before heading home (because she's too lazy to make something at home and have to wash up), and runs into her crush when they both reach for the same packet of instant ramyun.
* she and her crush somehow end up playing 50 rounds of pump (korean ddr) because she will not accept a score that didn't make it onto the leaderboard.
* she fangirls over bts and her crush gets jelly (can you tell I'm running out of good ideas??)
* her grandmother demands a photo of her crush when she hears that they are hanging out together. after receiving a selca of naomi and her crush, sumire replies with a: I've researched him and I approve! marry him please! naomi can't look at her crush in the eyes for two days after that.

* the band has a variety show mission where they have to go through this haunted house. the haunted house is populated with the members of seventeen acting as ghosts and ghouls to scare them. in the end, she ends up scaring the people meant to be scaring them.

* naomi does everything in her power to "match-make" (read: tease) her bandmates- going so far as to bump them into their crushes.

—how does he act/how does you act:

(hansolie)

- hansol, the charismatic rapper on stage, is a shy bean off stage. he's a bit awkward and shy, but since they've already met previously and are somewhat acquainted with each other, it's easier for naomi to talk to him- thus, it's easier for him to talk to her.
- he's admittedly a "no fun" guy and they have lame pun battles because she sucks at jokes too, which makes them less awkward with each other.
- once they bond over food, music and fashion (he's into hats); he's much more comfortable around her, so conversation is less of her rambling and him listening.
- when they become really close friends, they end up texting each other daily; sharing memes (mostly started by her sending him a meme of himself), going for convenience store food runs, and chilling together listening to music or watching movies when they're free.

- when he finally figures out that he likes her, he tries his best to act chill and all, which works on surface level; but those who are observant enough notice how he steals glances at her or how the tops of his ears turns red whenever she sits next to him.
- he's said before that he'd be straightforward when confessing to a girl that he likes her going "I think I really like you", but in reality he's so much less smooth than he thought he would be and can't seem to force the words out of his mouth even though he wants to.
- he tries his best to impress her, but fails a lot of the time (but she thinks he's so cute so maybe it's not a failure??)
- he tried and failed to hide his crush from the rest of seventeen and cotton candy.

- after exchanging pleasantries and all, she's much more comfortable with hansol and thus isn't afraid of rambling on and making idle conversation.
- she teases him about being shy often. when he becomes a bit shy with her again once he realizes that he likes her, she teased him again, whining about her "progress" being for naught with her usual deadpan expression. he can't for the life of him figure out if she's genuinely upset or just teasing.

- his ears turn bright bright red and he looks like he's malfunctioning when she gets touchy-feely with him (ex: when she back hugs him or when she leans on him). she acts even more touchy-freely with him as a result because she thinks he looks really cute like that, but hides her intentions with her even expression and faux "are you okay? you look a little red today..."

- she's not shy about her feelings, and is actually really obvious about them. he's just slow.

- cheolie is a generally warm and friendly person, so it was no wonder that she warmed up really quickly to him.
- they go on frequent convenience store runs for soft serve at 12am in the morning, text or talk first every other day till they end up texting ever other hour or so, and enjoy lighthearted banter with each other (though it looks like he's the only one bantering with her ever-serious chic impression radiating off of her).
- he views her as a good friend and even almost as "one of the boys" initially, till he realizes that he likes her. once that happens, he tries his best to impress her. he'd be extra conscious about how he looks, if he smells good and that kind of thing. he'd also light up the moment she's mentioned- but wouldn't be extremely apparent about his like for her. that being said, the moment one of the other members tease him about it he wouldn't hesitate to say: " yeah, I like her. "
- when she figures out that she likes him, she gets a little shy and self-conscious with him because he's older than her and she doesn't think she's good enough, and that he'd probably like "a good looking unnie" to her. since she's got the world's best blank face, no one sees how embarrassed and shy he makes her- but she actually dwells on the things he says and watches him carefully.

- once he figures that he likes her, he goes out of his way to do nice things for her, like treat her to ice cream or go on "friendly dates" to coffee shops. he doubles the aegyo, sweetness and manliness around her too.

* I stan bangtan boys, but listen to anything else that really catches my fancy. I enjoy got7's music, as well as f(x) and aoa's. I find that my likes lean more towards rap or hip-hop and/or dance genre. mad clown is one of my favorite rappers. I also like ailee, lim kim, zion t, and crush.
* on the other end of the spectrum, I'm into j-rock, j-pop, alternative music and pop/dance. melanie martinez, marina and the diamonds, kradness, ago no sakata, one ok rock, my first story, fall out boy, panic at the disco, my chemical romance... yeah.
