  1. Soulstorm
  2.
  3. Sphere: Weather
  4. Cost: 2 spell points
  5. Casting Time: End of Round
  6. Range: Medium (100 ft radius, + 10 ft per caster level)
  7. Duration: Concentration
  8. Saving Throw: Fort negates
  9. Prerequisites: Weather Sphere, Death Sphere(Drain)
  10. Effect: This spell creates a whirling storm of screeching souls to tear apart anyone unfortunate enough to enter its radius. When the heat or cold of the air reaches levels high enough to deal damage (severity 3+), the souls take form, causing 1 temporary negative level for one hour per caster level on a failed Fortitude save for the nonlethal damage as the lingering souls claw at their victims. The die of the temporary negative levels increases by 1 die size per 5 caster levels (1d2, 1d3, 1d4, and 1d6). Negative levels stack. While normally negative levels have a chance to become permanent and can kill a target whose negative levels equal its Hit Dice, these negative levels do not last long enough to become permanent, and if a negative level would reduce the creature to 0 Hit Dice, the creature instead takes 4 points of Constitution drain for the duration of the effect. If a negative level lasts longer than 1 day, the target must pass a Fortitude save per negative level or have the negative level become permanent. If this ability is used on an undead creature, it instead grants the creature 5 temporary hit points per negative level, which last for 1 hour. At severity 7, the negative levels are applied without a save.
