He would often go around his hometown pickpocketting for sport and attempting to outwit his childhood friend Mei, though he usually lost because she was faster. One day, Mei vanished without a trace. Thinking it was just another one of her games, Kai combed the entire town. Days went by, but he refused to give up. Then, he found her scarf. Mei always wore that scarf, so in that moment Kai knew something was wrong. After gathering all of his supplies and informing his family, he set out on a mission to bring Mei home.
