  1. (Tsura, Clary), Laura pages: Ok this is what I think I need to do. I should keep making loans, maybe quicken the process for those who want to go straight to collections. I need do so some sort of rudimentary screening with these folks, perhaps making it clear this is an on-grid process. Then I/we can compile a list of potential enforcers and pass the ball off to them.
  2. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'If it's on BB4 it's on-grid by default, but yeah, I would definitely make sure they know that. But! don't turn them away just because they're sandboxers. This is an opportunity to pull people onto the grid, be the change, etc etc'
  3. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'One of the best ways, and one of the reasons why I pushed +groups so hard as Preceptor, is that once you get people into a group and they're able to connect with people, they're more inclined to stay and do stuff with them. It's hard not to.'
  4. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'Give them a safety net to fall in - they don't have to know it's there.'
  5. To (Laura, Tsura), Clary pages: HOUSE HYDRA. Their catalog system could be perfect for that, too...
  6. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'mhmn'
  7. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: I'm going to open up a floodgate with this and I need some sort of way to deal with it. If I don't have some sort of filtering process. I'm going to have 20 people bugging me for their collection scene with no-one who wants to do it.
  8. To (Laura, Tsura), Clary pages: Debtors can just add themselves loans. Goons can check through it to collect...
  9. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'It doesn't have to happen right now. Get all of your systems in place to deal with the flood.'
  10. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'And Clary has a great idea.'
  11. From afar, to (Clary, Tsura): Laura agreed. :)
  12. To (Laura, Tsura), Clary pages: That way, it practically runs itself, and if people have questions, they know who to ask. And auditors periodically can check any outstanding ones and then try to hook people up for RP not already found?
  13. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'All you really need to do, if it's self-reported, is check to make sure that old requests get removed. You might have the enforcer send you an @mail upon completion.'
  14. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: Let me forward you both a copy of the contract I am currently using.
  15. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: What is the command for +mail-help? :)
  16. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'help mail, or +info tk/misc.@mail.cheatsheet'
  17. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'Also, that's /my/ cheatsheet, so I've short-handed some stuff. But it'll get you the ... yeah'
  18. You paged (Laura, Clary) with '50I?!?!?!'
  19. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'You're giving out 50 plat?!'
  20. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: 50 Imps is too high a figure. Jane and I have already discussed 50 royals would be more realistic for personal loans.
  21. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'Yeah.'
  22. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'I could see increments of 50I.'
  23. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'er. 50R. got me doing it now too.'
  24. <OOC> Tsura snuggles.
  25. <OOC> Tsura says, "Tonight is a lot of behind-the-scenes duchying :("
  26. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: I was thinking 50i for large business loans but yea.. that's what I have them agree to so there should be no consent problems with the collection process. If they want to play through it, they can. If not, no problem.
  27. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'Oh. So you're not giving out actual $cash?'
  28. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: I don't have access to it. I would love to if I did.
  29. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'I would talk to Jane about that, then. I would imagine the merchantbldr has a massive bankroll hiding in it.'
  30. <OOC> Sadami runs around.
  31. <OOC> Sadami says, "Fire everyone~"
  32. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: I would love to turn this whole process into a legit $cash thing. I want to promote the use of $cash. But then we are going to have problems with consent and collections.
  33. To (Laura, Tsura), Clary pages: I think there are a few folks who would get off on real $cash. Others might just prefer the RP of it. Probably a lot like Hydra rentals.
  34. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'I actually need $cash.'
  35. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'I can't be a poor ass duchess.'
  36. From afar, to (Clary, Tsura): Laura smiles.. but without an actual cash based economy, how could you repay the interest?
  37. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: Prince money I suppose.
  38. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: We need to get Jane involved in this conversation.
  39. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: I don't think she would agree with the actual $cash loans. We brushed against the topic already and she said the Guild doesn't have access to lots of it to loan out.
  40. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'Denizens go for 50R a pop.'
  41. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'Yeah. Well - maybe that's something to get McGregor involved in? Get investors.'
  42. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'Make it a real thing.'
  43. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'That then creates a demand for denizens to be captured.'
  44. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: Collecting it back will be a huge problem with the 'casual' player. They will hide behind consent.
  45. Long distance to (Laura, Clary): Tsura nods. "There's probably a lot of ways to go about it, though. For instance, you could have a credit limit, or limit $cash payouts to active grid players with ____ chargen time.
  46. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'Or Mastresses only.'
  47. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: People get weird when it comes to the $cash system. Every time some $cash initiative gets put forth to the Merchant's guild, members threaten to quit.
  48. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: That could work :)
  49. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'Nothing about this is compulsory, it's all opt-in.'
  50. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: People opt in and then hide behind consent. I've seen it over and over but perhaps we can noodle out a way to make that better.
  51. To (Laura, Tsura), Clary pages: Limit loans for a while. There has to be an IC reason for it... ie: Buying a slave to rent out. Building a business. Something that would likely bring cash back in. And, keep the interest to less than they make game code payments. So, maybe they need extra time on loans if their investment goes bust, but, overall they can still do it as long as they find creative ways to keep extending their repayment plans?
  52. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'You just need to make sure that you've got all your guardrails set up. And if someone does run off with all your monies? That's an RP opportunity to request a bailout or something.'
  53. To (Clary, Tsura), Laura pages: Most of this is beyond my paygrade.
  54. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'Yeah, I like that idea, Laura.'
  55. To (Laura, Tsura), Clary pages: And, that's for folks who want to use $cash. Folks who want to handwave it and just do RP, sky is more the limits.
  56. You paged (Laura, Clary) with 'If it's okay, I'm going to save this conversation and @mail it to you, jane, clary, and mcgregor. I don't need to be involved in this, unless you'd like me to be - My real goal is to help connect people to make things happen. Whatever the investment (hah) you need from me on that end, I'm happy to help.'
