  1. Hi Goat DKP system
  2. Introduction
  3. We are using a type of a loot council system, but the system is backed by a hidden DKP system. What I mean with this is that we are tracking attendance, items received, raid activity, how long since you last received loot and a few other factors, and use all this to generate a DKP value for you. This value however will not be visible to anyone other than the loot council.
  4.
  5. The reasoning for this is that the perfect DKP system has not and never will be invented. There is always a way to "cheat" a system, and what we want is for people to just focus on playing and not spend all their energy on trying to outsmart a system.
  6.
  7. Requests
  8. The next part of this is that you have to request your loot in advance. When a boss dies and an item drops, loot council will check the system and see who has requested said item. If you have not requested the item before the raid starts, you are not eligible for loot.
  9.
  10. The reason behind this is that we want people to think through their gear and plan out what is good for them instead of going "oh shiny, need!!", and steal a subpar item away from someone else, for whom it would have been BiS.
  11.
  12. Major / Minor
  13. The final issue to address is the "so-so"-items. Items that you kind of want, but they aren't great enough for you to want to take a hit to your DKP-score for them. Obviously we don't want loot to rot on the corpse because no one is willing to take it, so there is something called a Minor request.
  14.
  15. A Minor request works the same way as a Major request, just that it counts towards a separate instance of the DKP system, and does not affect your Major DKP score in any way. If someone however has a Major request on the item, he will get priority, no matter how low his Major score, or how high your Minor score is.
  16.
  17. This might seem a bit confusing at first, but it has been proven to work very well over many years, where loot drama and arguments have been extremely rare. I hope this clears things up somewhat, and should there be any questions; don't hesitate to ask.
