  7. ok
  8. go on
  9.
  10. AutochthonToday at 7:54 AM
  11. Well I noticed someone in the main room had a history with vampires, and I was considering doing a ghoul mage (Revenant) who broke from his family when he awakened, and now he's studying the things, and other night folk, trying to figure out what makes them tick, and if there's any truth to their 'the end is coming' beliefs
  12.
  13. Alice AdlerToday at 8:17 AM
  14. OK. I think Giovanni might work best for that, since they're sort of quasi-mages anyway
  15. but I do have an Old World Tzimisce NPC as well
  16.
  17. AutochthonToday at 8:18 AM
  18. nods Well I got thinking about liberation stuff after the Djinni thing didn't work, and knowing another PC already had ties to vampires...

  21. If you go Gio they'll hunt your ass vanni it'll make more sense how you're a mage, but also they'll hunt your ass to the ends of the earth. Now, maybe we could work around that by having you seek assylum from the Mages. Giovanni may be hot shit in vamp world but they don'twant to tangle with real mages
  22. If you go Tzimisce you have an automatic in with the local Old World dude (who no one in mage world likes by the way, so if you can get along with him they'll love you and giveyou plenty to do) and while you might find it distassteful, he might shelter you as a way of sticking it to the New Clan
  23. Of course, it might be better if you shied away from full on Revenant and just went with a normal ghoul. That way you'llhave less IC knowledge of Vampire lore, which might help avoid derailing things itoo much by turning it into a vampire game
  24.
  25. AutochthonToday at 8:25 AM
  26. Well the Giovanni could work as a play off of this thing I did with a Harbringer of Skulls for a sabbat game
  27. He found out just what the Giovanni intended to do, and /freaked the fuck out/
  28.
  29. Alice AdlerToday at 8:27 AM
  30. ok. My basic point about the potential problemwith Revenants is that, while Ilike the basic idea of a dude raised in a crepy blood cult trying to reintegrate into normal mage society, I don'twant it to be too tied to the high levelVTM metaplot stuff.
  31. You are not Beckett with magic
  32.
  33. AutochthonToday at 8:27 AM
  34. Aaah, okay, so you don't want him to know too much, gotcha
  35.
  36. Alice AdlerToday at 8:30 AM
  37. You can know that they're a doomsday cult, and that they revere Cain (just from piecing together random phrases like "Sword of Cain") and I assume you would have seen either some vicissitude or Necromancy (although Necromancy might be lesslikely unlessyou hapened to walk in on a ritual or something) but mostly you just know Vampires arebad news, andthat they operate creepy incestuou slavec cults
  38. also, as a hunter, how much would you honestly care about the finer points of their theology.?
  39. ontheone hand I can seeyou being so afraid thatthey might be right that it drives you to investigate
  40. but on the other hand, "my name is x.You enslaved my family. Prepare to die"
  41. I suppose it's the Winchester spectrum lol
  42. are you Sam the lore nerd, or Deanwho just wants to know how to kill things?
  43.
  44. AutochthonToday at 8:35 AM
  45. Well a Mage might, and if I go technocrat, he's going to use what he's seen to justify locking down the supernatural. If he's a Tzimisce ghoul, he's seen /people turned into furniture/, and if he's Giovanni, well a haunted house is one thing, a haunted house controlled by enslaving a dead schoolgirl's ghost...that's ever so much worse. While he's trying to figure out how to deal with the things, and prevent them from ruining human society worse then it already is ("I've heard that ISIS is made up of some kind of crazy, ebony skinned assassin vampires!"), he also has to admit that their capabilities have some...interesting ramifications for bioscience.
  46. Basically he's seen them at their worst and has decided "Hell NO are these things going to control humanity, at least the superstitionalists think they're doing the right thing!"
  47.
  48. Alice AdlerToday at 8:36 AM
  49. yeah that works
  50.
  51. AutochthonToday at 8:37 AM
  52. Now if I /really/ wanted to go spooky, I'd make him a D'habi >_>
  53.
  54. Alice AdlerToday at 8:37 AM
  55. but, again, that makes it sound like it's less about hunting down books of Nodist lore, and more about "Let's take this fucker to thelab so we can cut him open"
  56.
  57. AutochthonToday at 8:37 AM
  58. Basically yeah, and 've have ways of makink you talk'
  59.
  60. Alice AdlerToday at 8:38 AM
  61. that sounds like a pretty interesting and ambiguous Progenitor
  62. riding the line between the creepy Mengele half of the Convention and the more idealistic Tesla types
  63.
  64. AutochthonToday at 8:39 AM
  65. Indeed, he thinks there's potential in the 'curse' (He's not sure if its caused by parasites or some kinda umbral infestation) for medicial purposes. I mean have you seen how fast those things heal? And he's generally okay with leaving the ones who aren't dicks alone, because he's very concerned about becoming like the kindred, but if he finds out one of those shitheels is in town messing with innocent humans, well...Nothing quite says 'fuck you' like bioenhanced bears rampaging through your haven
  66. He's also got an interest in other supernaturals, the Vampires seem /very/ afraid of these things called 'lupines'...
  67. (D'habi are /baali/ revenants, by the way)
  68.
  69. Alice AdlerToday at 8:41 AM
  70. well there is a Kinfolk who runs a farm on the outskirts, although I doubt he'dtalk to a Progenitor much. Too Weavery
  71.
  72. AutochthonToday at 8:42 AM
  73. A farmer, eh? Well we'll see how he feels after getting some fertilizer that doubles the size of his produce
