NICKNAME/S : Qi-Qi, her mother called her this as a cute nickname. Yu Qi often became annoyed by this but she couldn't have changed her mother's mind. It began to be attached to Yu Qi and now she introduces herself accidentally as Qi-Qi, after her mother's death is was also through respect and mourning.

BACKGROUND : Yu Qi was born in the same family sizes as all families of that time during the one-child policy. Yu Qi's mother, her father and herself. Yu Qi's gender was never revealed during her mother's pregnancy and thus, when she was born it was too late for an abortion. Yu Qi's father was reasonably sexist and held it against Yu Qi that she wasn't a boy. This formed a rift between Yu Qi's mother and father, later ending with them going to continuous counseling. Yu Qi was raised by her mother, due to her father's fast-paced business life (and his lack of devotion to his daughter). Yu Qi was ten when her parents passed away in a car crash and, despite Yu Qi torturing herself over the thought, she only missed her mother.
PERSONALITY : Yu Qi is quite calm compared to the rest of the girls. She is much more reserved then them, as well. She was raised to be polite and kind, which Yu Qi tries to be. Her family was a considerably sexist one, where her father was the breadwinner and her mother was expected to stay at home and care for the children, thus, this male chauvinist outlook on life was ingrained into Yu Qi since childhood. Yu Qi was expected to be quiet, reserved, polite yet charming at the same time before her parents passed away Yu Qi was their ample child. However, after the car crash, their true teaching was revealed. Yu Qi's parents raised a distant and distant child, who, seemingly, appeared unapproachable and harsh. Yu Qi isn't everything that she appears, though, she is intelligent and creative, with a knack for drawing and artwork. She has a particular love for photography and traditional Chinese artwork. Yu Qi is soft-hearted when it comes to people and is sensitive, as well, she is the quickest to cry during sad movies and can understand and listen to other people's problems better than most. Yu Qi likes to think herself a mother of her group of friends, however, she doesn't reveal this thought to her friends. In fact, Yu Qi rarely reveals what she thinks. She isn't afraid of what her friends, she more afraid of what they would think of her after saying that. In Yu Qi's eyes, her friendships are so fragile that a simple word could ruin it all.
