Petrol isn't as expensive as you may think.

In the UK, petrol is currently £1.34 a litre.

Compare that with other things you may buy on a daily or weekly basis, and see what you think. You may be surprised.


Coca cola - 500ml bottle, £1.08 - one litre = £4.32

Washing up liquid (Fairy) - 500ml bottle, £1.09p - one litre = £4.36

Toothpaste - 200ml tube, £1.89 - one litre = £9.45

Gaviscon - 200ml bottle, £2.79 - one litre = £8.37

Tipp-ex - 50ml bottle, £1,49 - one litre = £29.80

Superglue - 10ml tube, £2.29 - one litre = £229.00!!!

So the next time you're at the petrol pump, complaining about the cost of your petrol, be thankful your car or motorcycle doesn't run on Tipp-ex or Superglue :)
