  1. [15:43] Tanya Weiss asks, "...Hmm, hmm. A company not officially recognised by Theria is hiring -in- Theria?"
  2. [15:44] Teodor Hargrave exclaims, "I was recognized by Miss Fenrir!"
  3. [15:44] Teodor Hargrave says, "Well. We."
  4. [15:44] Tanya Weiss says, "You were -observed- by a -single- seat."
  5. [15:44] Teodor Hargrave exclaims, "Seemed like she was the big boss lady here!"
  6. [15:44] Teodor Hargrave says, "She had that kind of... aura..."
  7. [15:44] Tanya Weiss says, "She has a seat at the warlord's table, yes."
  8. [15:44] Tanya Weiss says, "However, so do I."
  9. [15:44] Teodor Hargrave exclaims, "I don't know any others--- oh!"
  10. [15:45] Teodor Hargrave exclaims, "Well, then!"
  11. [15:45] Tanya Weiss says, "Tanya Weiss. Leader and purveyor of Ardent Shields. "
  12. [15:46] Teodor quickly bows his head. "Well met, Tanya. I am Teodor Hargrave, Commander of the Thunderbird Company."
  13.
  14. Those of Theria might recognize the name. Purported loyalists of Osrona. Lapdogs of the First Light. The nobility. There's a natural, inherent distrust. Where did this guild's loyalties truly lie?
  15.
  16. Yet still. They've garnered reputation as the most prominent mercenary organization in Osrona.
  17.
  18. "I spoke with Miss Fenrir, but I'll reiterate my intentions again. I seek to establish official guild presence here in Theria. Construct a guild headquarters here. Perhaps, even, move our base of operations here in Theria. But-!"
  19.
  20. He smiles and extends his arms out.
  21.
  22. "Things to talk about! In the next meeting, yes?"
  23. (Teodor Hargrave)
  24. [15:51] A hand is held out as he finished speaking. Though, with the small crowd growing, the metal stepstool that grew under her feet shot up a bit taller.
  25.
  26. "Ah yes, the Thunderbirds. Though- I would really doubt anyone here would give there time to a foreign company moving in to capitalize on Theria as they open their doors."
  27.
  28. A small shake of her head, before she spoke again.
  29.
  30. "But, this can be discussed during the next meeting. Remember that, to be a Warlord, you must put Theria first. I would hate to see your company continuing to do business with Osrona if you're accepted; something like that is a breach of trust!"
  31. (Tanya Weiss)
  32. [15:56] Sarasha folded her arms over her chest. She was certainly indifferent, but usually the one open to suggestion. Though now she had heard what they needed to hear. A though popped into her mind.
  33.
  34. "To be a Warlord, I'd ask you to cut ties first and live amongst Theria for some years yourself. Get you acquainted with the life you so desire." A glance was given to Tanya with a slight toothy grin. It was merely a thought.
  35. (Sarasha Fenrir)
  36. [15:58] "It... would be ideal," he admits. "If... youuu stay with us for a few years... two years... Maybe. Three. Years? This... would be your welcoming stage. After... that? You. Can. Sit."
  37.
  38. Deeply inhaling, the steam of the gas mask would release from the little holes. The rods in his neck that were hiding beneath the layers of skin following as nourishment value as well as air was able to enter his lungs after. A simple, cursed existence.
  39.
  40. "But. I. Wish... to see your group. To see how amazing they are. To learrnnn them."
  41. (Sajid)
  42. [16:01] Teodor's eyes squint.
  43.
  44. Put Theria first.
  45.
  46. Cut ties...
  47.
  48. What were his ties? Osrona... the Knights... no. His family. His family? Teodor's family.
  49.
  50. Teodor... does he value Osrona? Does he need Osrona?
  51.
  52.
  53. After the two Warlords finish speaking, Teodor's face contorted with something akin to confusion. Pain.
  54.
  55. Am I really Teodor?
  56.
  57. He takes a while to respond. But when he does, it's clear that something was... off. His posture changes. His voice shifts. Where there was once a light, almost unnoticeable foreign accent, there's now an extremely prominent, thick one.
  58.
  59. No... Teodor's who I pretend to be...
  60.
  61. "Yeah..." he finally says, after a while. His composure looks fractured, but he still maintains some semblance of formality and proper demeanor. "Yeah- I don't disagree, right? Truly, I've not got any desire to be a fist of the establishment in Osrona. Maybe..."
  62.
  63. He pauses. Clears his throat. He seemed like he was going to say something more, but he shakes it off. He stops talking.
  64.
  65. Something about Teodor Hargrave just feels off. But, that's common for a lot of warrior types.
  66.
  67. Just what was going on in this guy's head?
  68. (Teodor Hargrave)
  69. [16:09] Teodor was shaken down. when he was faced with a decision the would force him to burn bridges and take a risk, he just cracked ever slightly. This made Sarasha's expression furrow. She turned her head just enough to let Tanya catch wind of something. Then her Head went back. To glare.
  70.
  71. A hand feints out in front of her then her fingers turned and pointed to the ground. She began with a lighter tone, that gradually got stern with their conviction.
  72.
  73. "We will have conditions, unnegotiableif your wish to chase these dreams of yours. This place is not like the rest of Esshar like you know elsewhere."
  74. (Sarasha Fenrir)
  75. [16:19] Sarasha understands Tanya needs quite a bit of TIME to think.
  76. (Sarasha Fenrir)
  77. [16:24] Teodor Hargrave says, "I agree to your conditions."
  78. [16:24] Teodor Hargrave says, "I'll try not to aggressively recruit here, since I already have a sizeable force at my command."
  79. [16:24] Tanya Weiss exclaims, "Of course!"
  80. [16:25] Sarasha Fenrir says, "Again...My condition would be you relieve yourself of your guild until some years pass."
  81. [16:25] Teodor Hargrave asks, "Er-... relieve myself of my guild?"
  82. [16:25] Sarasha Fenrir says, "Give the reigns to another while you're here."
  83. [16:25] Teodor does a double-take. His eyes squint.
  84. (Teodor Hargrave)
  85. [16:25] Tanya Weiss says, "You need to experience Theria culture until you can actually have a say in it."
  86. [16:25] Teodor Hargrave says, "I didn't hear that."
  87. [16:25] Teodor Hargrave says, "... I don't think I agree."
  88. [16:25] Tanya Weiss exclaims, "Well, too bad!"
  89. [16:25] Teodor Hargrave says, "This guild does not have anyone else that could actually lead it, properly."
  90. [16:25] Tanya Weiss says, "You need to win -our- approval."
  91. [16:25] Shrike Airgetlm exclaims, "He's not wrong!"
  92. [16:25] Shrike Airgetlm says, "I'd be like..."
  93. [16:25] Teodor Hargrave asks, "What does this hope to accomplish?"
  94. [16:25] Shrike Airgetlm says, "Second after him."
  95. [16:25] Shrike Airgetlm says, "And I'm incompetent."
  96. [16:25] Shrike nodded.
  97. (Shrike Airgetlm)
  98. [16:25] Sarasha Fenrir says, "You must have /Someone/ you've built an amount of trust in over the years."
  99. [16:25] Teodor Hargrave says, "Yes, there are a few, but they are much too... idle."
  100. [16:26] Sarasha Fenrir says, "It'd be only for a little while."
  101. [16:26] Teodor Hargrave says, "To lead the organization."
  102. [16:26] Tanya Weiss asks, "Why would we let an outsider have a say in our government?"
  103. [16:26] Sarasha Fenrir asks, "This ookami looks to be your left hand man. Why doesn't he run it?"
  104. [16:26] Shrike Airgetlm says, "I mean..."
  105. [16:26] Teodor Hargrave says, "It is simple. Because you would benefit tremendously from having us here."
  106. [16:26] Shrike scratched his chin.
  107. (Shrike Airgetlm)
  108. [16:26] Teodor Hargrave says, "He's a new Captain. There's another that would take lead before him."
  109. [16:26] Tanya Weiss asks, "Why?"
  110. [16:26] Tanya Weiss says, "Why would we benefit? "
  111. [16:26] Shrike Airgetlm exclaims, "OH!"
  112. [16:27] Shrike Airgetlm says, "You're right..."
  113. [16:27] Shrike Airgetlm says, "I forgot about him. Haven't seem him in a while."
  114. [16:27] Teodor Hargrave says, "We are - were - the most prominent, powerful guild in Osrona."
  115. [16:27] Teodor Hargrave says, "Having us at your side would be a boon."
  116. [16:27] Teodor Hargrave says, "I will not agree to have my guild dismantled."
  117. [16:27] Tanya Weiss exclaims, "Of course, not dismanlted!"
  118. [16:28] Shrike Airgetlm whispers: Do we mention our strength as people?
  119. [16:28] Shrike Airgetlm whispers: Or magi?
  120. [16:28] Teodor Hargrave says, "I'm sorry, but what you are suggesting is the dismantling of my guild."
  121. [16:28] Tanya Weiss says, "...no? "
  122. [16:28] Teodor Hargrave says, "I cannot agree to that."
  123. [16:28] Tanya Weiss says, "Just- don't lead it for a few years."
  124. [16:28] Sarasha Fenrir says, "Think of it as... Under administrative leave."
  125. [16:28] Teodor Hargrave says, "That will result in its deterioration."
  126. [16:28] Sarasha Fenrir says, "Temporarily."
  127. [16:28] Tanya Weiss says, "Assign a board of directions. "
  128. [16:29] Squall Sirocco says, "Ridiculous."
  129. [16:29] Teodor Hargrave says, "This isn't an issue of trust."
  130. [16:29] Teodor Hargrave says, "It's a logistical issue."
  131. [16:30] Teodor Hargrave says, "You are asking me to step down, briefly. When there isn't an active captain who could take the reigns, and well."
  132. [16:30] Teodor folds his arms.
  133. (Teodor Hargrave)
  134. [16:30] Teodor Hargrave says, "I will agree to any other term."
  135. [16:30] Sarasha Fenrir says, "You have time. You could be prudent now to find a suitable leader."
  136. [16:30] Tanya Weiss exclaims, "Well, this is a public forum anyway!"
  137. [16:31] Tanya Weiss says, "You'll recieve official terms at the next council."
  138. [16:31] Teodor glares. For a moment, he seems to have undergone some kind of... change.
  139. (Teodor Hargrave)
  140. [16:31] Teodor Hargrave says, "I will agree to any other term."
  141. [16:31] Teodor Hargrave says, "I will not agree to this term."
  142. [16:33] Tanya Weiss says, "Well.."
  143. [16:33] Tanya Weiss says, "I do believe if, per say, a -merger- were to occur..."
  144. [16:33] Teodor Hargrave says, "... Merger."
  145. [16:34] Tanya Weiss says, "Of course, the Thunderbirds could techincally gain a seat on the council by inflating another person with a seat."
  146. [16:34] Sarasha rolled her eyes.
  147. (Sarasha Fenrir)
  148. [16:34] Teodor Hargrave says, "I came here to do business, and benefit myself, and the people of Theria at the same time."
  149. [16:34] Teodor Hargrave says, "I didn't come here to surrender my guild."
  150. [16:35] Tanya Weiss says, "Well, that has yet to be seen."
  151. [16:35] Tanya Weiss says, "If you were shown to be dedicated towards the prosperity of Theria, there would beno issue. "
  152. [16:37] The Rhoynur wasn't going to let himself be ignored, especially when things were slanted heavily against a mercenary trying to make his business. "Squall." He speaks, pointing a thumb to his chest, his golden gaze narrowed in Tanya's direction.
  153.
  154. "A mercenary that has been living in this city for quite some time, seven years now, in fact. We're here to do business, not strangle any attempt of trade. Give this man a test instead of consolidating power for just yourselves."
  155.
  156. His arms soon fold infront of his chest, diverting his attention over to Teodor soon after.
  157. (Squall Sirocco)
  158. [16:43] Teodor's eyes widen a few inches. But, he nods at Squall, finally. He spoke sense.
  159.
  160. Not that he did not understand the hesitation of the existing warriors of Theria. He WAS an outsider. A supposed loyalist of Osrona, showing up at their doorstep with his people. Trying to assume -- take power. They were right to be cautious.
  161.
  162. He returns his glance back to Tanya. He extends his arms out to the sides, resting a hand on his captain, Shrike's, shoulder. He was once very grim and serious looking, but now, he sports some silly, child-like smile on his face.
  163.
  164. "Aha- right!" he exclaims. "If I-- we, could prove ourselves, somehow. That would be preferred, to dismantling the organization of our guild. Removing me from leadership would do just that. I-" He steps forward, carefully.
  165.
  166. "Don't get me wrong, though. I do understand that you need assurance that my and my people are on your side. I didn't come here on a whim to take power. I've been in talks with your people for some years. I came here only after years of deliberation, to try to expand my own guild. To try to make something that'll last, beyond myself. To..."
  167.
  168. His eyes shift down to the snowy ground.
  169.
  170. "To find some alternative to serving the whims of the nobility and military of Osrona. If I truly... can't find that here... then I'd have to go back to the 'nice life' of doing the dirty work of Osrona. That would be... sad." He looks up at them again.
  171.
  172. "Not just for me. But for you."
  173. (Teodor Hargrave)
  174. [16:51] A threat. Hidden in the very end of his little speech. Truly, Tanya was somewhat surprised at the inclusion, but nevertheless she returned a smile at him.
  175.
  176. "Asking for a seat when you've just shown up isn't something that can just happen. You must understand the apprehension that we already at the council with an entity moving into the city."
  177.
  178. There's a look to Sarasha, then back towards Teodor.
  179.
  180. "Again, I believe official terms will come up at the next meeting. If you're truly dedicated to the betterment of Theria, then something of a temporary seat with limited power could be established. Until you've proven yourself beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're with Theria, thick and thin."
  181.
  182. Her hand waves in the air, slightly.
  183.
  184. "If you can prove yourself within a short span of a few years without official voting power at the Council, then gaining a seat wouldn't be too far out of the question. But, that has yet to be seen. Ardent Shield is still dedicated towards the defense of the city."
  185. (Tanya Weiss)
  186. [16:55] Sarasha was growing more and more frustrated as their negotiation was met with swift denial. The Teodore's ambition was certainly a trait to have. Though this meant nothing given his past.
  187.
  188. Certainly, the Matriarch of the Fenrir family had caught win and even held a flyer for the Thunderbirds. Declaring even to come to Theria. At least their arrival wasn't completely unannounced.
  189.
  190. "I think the biggest issue is that we would have a conglomerate of mercenary groups."
  191.
  192. A hand extended to Tanya to gesture her friend.
  193.
  194. "The Ardent Shields shouldn't have to compete on their own grounds with an aspiring group whom don't even have roots here. This is what is making frustrations rise."
  195.
  196. Sarasha would then have to note Tanya's words for herself. Their attention drawn, evident by their stare. Listening on before continuing herself. A more sly expression coming to fruition when she turned back to Teodore.
  197.
  198. "She's right. It is not right for you to have a seat upon simply walking into Theria. Bold as it may be and though you have your organization in tandem, but it would be unwise of us."
  199.
  200. Now it was time for her to concur. A hand feinted out to Teodore. A welcoming gesture.
  201.
  202. "You are welcome to stay and prove such resolve for Theria. This much I can agree with. It may take less time, or it may be a long time. That is all on you."
  203. (Sarasha Fenrir)
  204. [17:06] The Thunderlord sighs and shakes his head.
  205.
  206. "If I'm being completely honest with you," he says. "The 'seat' of power that comes with operating a mercenary group here... I'm not too interested in that. I've yet to even determine its worth. Not something I desire right now."
  207.
  208. He clears his throat. His smile widens again, to a goofy grin. "I'm only here to offer my services to you all. To fight alongside you. To expand my little family! To find an alternative to stomping on the little guys for Her Imperial Majesty, the Queen."
  209.
  210. He beckons to Tanya. "I agree to those terms. I will give up my seat at the council. I will have no say in how you operate. That is, until you've decided my and my company's worth. On the topic of... our multiple mercenary companies working together..."
  211.
  212. He looks around at the crowds nearby.
  213.
  214. "The same way it's always been done. As, I'm sure, you're aware, this place is filled with smaller mercenary companies. I'm sure you've not had any issues with them in the past. But, we could work out some kind of... niches, for us to individually fill, whenever we convene officially. You could focus on the defense of the city... we could focus on excursions beyond the city. Just an idea! Stuff to think about..."
  215.
  216. He winks, and does some kind of silly pose. It looks really lame and uncool. "For our meetings."
  217. (Teodor Hargrave)
  218. [17:12] Sarasha grimaces at the mention of the Queen. It was said with such a heartfelt tone and it just made her feel a bit sick. Hopefully he wasn't another Empire Zealot. Though she may have grimaced, they came to an agreement, of sorts...
  219.
  220. The Matriarch turned to Tanya. Ralation on her part in Theria had always been well and renowned in her own endeavors. There was always a reason to each of their decisions and now wouldn't make a difference. It was clear who had the ball in play now.
  221.
  222. "Tanya, I can accept this for now. Though being he has ties to a mercenary group and as such, is their leader? I will leave him to you and your devices."
  223. (Sarasha Fenrir)
  224.
  225. [17:15] Tanya Weiss says, "Mmhm. We will decide this at the meeting."
  226. [17:15] Teodor Hargrave says, "... For the best."
  227. [17:16] Teodor looks down at the snowy ground for a while. Conversation over.
  228. (Teodor Hargrave)
