  1. [3:25:18 PM] Kittifer T Cat: This was definitely now how you envisioned tonight going, but you know what? You're not complaining.
  2.
  3. Your "preparation" consists mostly of you trying to get yourself to calm the fuck down. You were really thrown for a while, and although talking through things with Meenah has addressed your nerves, you're still overwhelmed. You let your hair hand loose - sure, it will get messy, but you know what? You don't care.
  4.
  5. When you arrive at Meenah's, you're wearing your usual tank top and a pair of shorts. Your fingers drift unconsciously to your moirail's key, which hangs on a chain around your neck. Everything will be fine. It's Meenah, after all. She's been gentle with you before, and she'll be gentle again if you need it. That thought is enough to soothe you.
  6. [4:22:07 PM] Taeniura:
  7. You're waiting in the quiet of the lobby, lit only by the windows and the bright gray wash of rainlight on the marble floors staring down into the shadow and wishing you could add your own light to the gloom. its been, what, over a perigee since your biolume was burned out, and youve been doing a decent job of keeping your mind off of it, but talking with fel about Dirk and his brother had you thinking about your previously glowing ass and wondering if fel would appreciate your glowing ass if you ever got them back - And really it was a weird thought spiral you'd gotten yourself into when the porter pops and She arrives.
  8.
  9. You glance up to her and quickly melt into a small sharp grin, fins flipping forward in anticipation. Your heart catches as watch her take in the room. The ceilings are tall, much taller than you'd ever need them to be, but not absurdly so, and everything from the walls to the floor to the sparse decor is decidedly somewhere on the lines of 'driftwood beachy chic' and 'rich inlaid marble' - so, you know, basically two rich highbloods threw up on the place. Which somehow makes you standing there barefoot with your hair nearly trailing the ground in a loose pink t-shirt and your own shorts nearly disappearing under the hem of it look kind of out of place. Not that you notice in the slightest.
  10.
  11. You cross the room and take her hand, fingers curling between hers as thunder lightly booms in the distance, to help her down off the transportilizer. its much slimmer than hers, both in hight and the amount of buttons required on the stand, and you reach beyond her to flip a switch on the side, effectively locking it from any coords that werent on the approved list.
  12.
  13. You glance at it and then back up to her, "Saury, i wasnt sure if wed programmed your coords in yet - you can still leave whenever you want you arent trapped or anything. clams just uh. he gets a little paranoid. " you shrug sheepishly.
  14. [4:40:03 PM | Edited 4:40:57 PM] Kittifer T Cat: Your hand melds to hers without question, your fingers fitting together like they belonged there. "Honestly, I can't blame him. If there's something I can do to help you guys with your security, I'm happy to do it." You bump your forehead against hers, like the actual cat you are.
  15.
  16. This place isn't like anything you've seen before. You'd dated a highblood once, been in a castle before, but this is so much different. The beachy aesthetic ties it back to the land it was built on. You feel grounded here, not like the distance you felt in big stone catacombs with cold tile floors.
  17.
  18. The hand not holding hers lifts to curl a lock of her hair around your finger, and you give her a light kiss on the lips. "Later, though?" Oh, you'd love nothing more than to kiss her with fervor, but you shouldn't rush it. There will be time for that later. Later, which is assuming you get through this in the first place - she's your newest partner, and you aren't sure what to expect.
  19. [6:08:31 PM] Taeniura: when she closes the small distance between the two of you, you cant help but purr quietly and push back against her. You're moving without any conscious thought when you're leaning in again with half lidded eyes and you kiss her soft, lingering, barely letting her get through the two words shes left with. It's not thoughtless, the way you glance up into her eyes after, just, without inhibition, you guess. Its natural, the way your voice quiets when you pull softly on her hand, pulling her towards the door, and the window just to its right, that lead outside. "yeah. " you mutter, still staring and grinning softly. " yeah, later."
  20.
  21. Even after your free hand touches the wall and pulls her over with you, you stand there in the silence, letting your pusher dance to this new and familiar tune. The lilt in her green eyes and the quiet rush in yours mixing in the rain on the window glass to the back beat of your pulse and hers syncopating against your hands - Something about her and knowing what you planned to do slowly electrified you, and you were powerless to stop it.
  22.
  23. You manage to pull your gaze away and come back down to earth a little bit, your fins nearly trembling. pull yourself together, meenah, damn. You clear your throat and point your chin out of the window. The rain is coming down in slow fat drops, drenching everything it touches, leaving a haze all the way down to the shore far below the cliff face the hive sits on. There's systems of intricate metal stars winding down to the sand, and as if on cue, a bright light cuts through it all far above and sweeps across for just a few seconds before its dark again. You look back to her, your grin just a little more mischievous than before.
  24.
  25. "what'd you think?"
  26. [6:21:34 PM] Kittifer T Cat: THAT'S a look you want to see more often. You didn't know such a small change of expression could be so attractive. You're usually the only playful one with your partners - this is new, and entirely welcome.
  27.
  28. "I think," you ponder, looking back out the window, "that looks like a challenge." The cliffside perch gives this view remarkable majesty with no effort at all. Stormclouds churning over ocean and land just add to the picture. When the thunder finally rumbles, you feel it in your very core. When you turn back to her, you have a sweet little smile of your own - the physical embodiment of the :3c face. "And I don't turn down a challenge."
  29. [6:58:37 PM] Taeniura: you're already smiling at her while she mulls it over, but when she looks back at you, smiling her sweet smile, yours morphs into something tighter, sharper, and absolutely willing. you hold her hand tight and reach past her for the door. It brings you between her and the wall, and you're inches from her face when you stare into her eyes again.
  30.
  31. "well, fel. What the hell are we waiting for?"
  32.
  33. You pull the door open with some force, the rain splattering inside and over you before you even pull her out of the doorway. you barely pause to close it behind you before you're pulling her down the slick stairs as quick as you can. in moments you're both drenched, the loose shirt you'd chosen clinging to you now, your hair slowly weighing down with the water, turning into loose ropelets instead of one cohesive wave, and you starting to laugh at yourself something loud and unrefined as you begin to slide down them. Fel what have you gotten yourself into.
  34. [7:17:38 PM] Kittifer T Cat: Something very, very good, because you've hardly been here minutes and you're already having the time of your life. Yes, you nearly slip on the stairs and make a total fool of yourself, but Meenah saves you from that - she's so eager to tug you along, you don't have time for silly mistakes!
  35.
  36. You jog to catch up to her, and by the time you do, both of you have your feet on the wet sand. You can see the imprints of raindrops pock-marking its surface, and when you dance across it, your feet leave sharp, solid imprints. Waves splash at the shore, and when you look out across the water with her at your side, you almost wonder why you ever feared the ocean.
  37.
  38. Your shirt is white. You forget this fact until it's already far too late and every part of you is soaked, and your face glows soft green in the darkness. Maybe she can't tell? You hope, although your hope might be in vain. "What was that about making sure I don't drown? I don't think we even need to be near the sea for that, with this rainfall - you weren't kidding when you said it was pouring."
