01[20:36] <@Paradox> Claus rings the door bell, which chimes pleasantly a few times. After a few minutes, an older woman answers - Mrs. Bell, Claus' maid.

01[20:36] <@Paradox> She immediately pinches Claus' cheek.
01[20:37] <@Paradox> "Oooh you're so tall! But so skinny, have you been eating? Oh come here!"
01[20:37] <@Paradox> She drags Claus into a hug before he can get a word out.
06[20:37] * Claus grimaces. "I-it's good to see you too, Mrs. Bell."
06[20:39] * Lakshmi follows inside. "U-uh excuse me, can i get in? My name is..."

01[20:40] <@Paradox> "Is this adorable young lady your girlfriend? No, don't answer, I don't want to embarass you!"

06[20:41] * Claus refrains from telling her she already has.
01[20:41] <@Paradox> She leads you into the house. It's a very nice house! Perhaps not quite as nice as Lal's was, but it's obvious Claus' parents make quite a bit of money.
06[20:42] * Lakshmi giggles at the girlfriend question. M-maybe it's wishful thinking?
01[20:43] <@Paradox> "Your parents are at work, dear, but I'll call them right away to let them know you're in!"
01[20:43] <@Paradox> "In the meantime, go on ahead to your room, and I'll show the lady to guest room."
[20:44] <Lakshmi> "Oh, there is no need, really!"
[20:44] <Claus> "Trust me, you'll get lost if she doesn't."
01[20:46] <@Paradox> "Now, come with me so you can freshen up dearier, dinner is in half an hour!"
06[20:46] * Lakshmi nodnods. "Oh... Well, 'kay then."
01[20:50] <@Paradox> Well, you're indeed given a chance to freshen up and change into a fresh outfit before she fetches you again for dinner.
01[20:51] <@Paradox> As you enter the dinner room, Claus parent's are just arriving from work as well.
06[20:52] * Lakshmi smiles. "Clausy! Your mom an' daddy are here!"
01[20:53] <@Paradox> Claus father is a tall thin man, with a widow's peak and gray streaks in his hair. He smiles at Claus, more politely than warmly, and nods at him as he and Lucky walk in. "Welcome home, son. It is most fortuitous that you have shown up; we were on the verge of requesting you join us for a weekend."
[20:53] <Claus> "Hi Dad.  Good to see you too."
01[20:55] <@Paradox> Claus' mother walks up to him and gives him a hug. She's of a height with Claus, and wears glasses as he does - and looks quite a bit like him, in truth, though she has red-brown hair.
01[20:57] <@Paradox> "How have you been dear? I wish you'd said you were coming in, we'd have taken the day off work to greet you!"
[21:00] <Claus> "A little shaken.  We were a little too confident in our ability to handle the forest, but I guess we came out okay..."
[21:00] <Claus> "...mostly okay, anyway."
01[21:00] <@Paradox> "Oh! Why didn't you call for a ranger escort? You must be careful, we don't want you getting hurt."
06[21:00] * Lakshmi looks a bit awkward but just is looking around at the room!
01[21:01] <@Paradox> "In any case, excuse my rudeness young lady. I'm Myrcella Norne, Claus' mother. This is my husband, James."
[21:03] <Lakshmi> "Oh... I-i'm sorry, my name is Lakshmi Anderson, i work with Claus on the club and... I'm a friend of his!" She tries her best smile despite not being on the best of situations.
[21:07] <Lakshmi> "Mrs. Bell said i'm his Girlfriend, how silly, no?" Lucky gives an awkward giggle.

[21:08] <Lakshmi> "She thought so, i think, but..."
01[21:09] <@Paradox> Mr. Norne looks up with a quirked eyebrow. He had never allowed Claus to have a girlfriend for some reason.
01[21:09] <@Paradox> "But you're not? That is good to hear. There are more important things to concentrate on, when one is as young as you." he finishes brusquely.

06[21:27] * Claus would suppress the urge to groan. He KNEW going to visit was a bad idea, but Lucky needed a bed. Let's see, an excuse, an excuse....
[21:29] <Claus> He knew this wasn't likely to work, but... "Father, I've had a really rough day and I'm completely drained.  I don't think it would be good to do tests when I'm in a suboptimal state like this."  Gotta' talk in dadspeak, of course....

06[21:39] * Lakshmi is observing the scene from the Guest room's door, a bit confused about what Claus is doing. Is that related to how he can't do that freaky-stabby-thingy he did?
[21:39] <Claus> "I've got a headache, but if you say so..."  He concentrates this time.   Nothing.  Not like he's surprised.  "Eevee."  One of Mr. Norne's favorites.  Watch him be wrong, though.  He should've brought Tink and had him do something behind the scenes.  Dammit why'd he give the cube to Alex.  whyyyy.

[21:44] <Claus> "I..."  What's plausible...uh... "Got hit really hard on the head, that might be it.  Probably just need to sleep it off..."

01[21:45] <@Paradox> The large and old family stoutland stands up from his corner, and pads over to Claus.

06[21:48] * Claus keeps an unchanging face. Usually he liked Tallheart showing up. Not today, though. That guy has the best nose... "Thank you, Father." How to get around Tallheart, how to get around Tallheart....

06[21:50] * Lakshmi tries to nod at Claus from where she is. Hopefully as sneaky as she can without alerting the big doggy and Claus' parents.

01[21:51] <@Paradox> You manage to sneak back up the stairs to your guestroom without being seen, but you can't manage to get Claus' attention without potentially being seen by the others.
01[21:52] <@Paradox> Anyway, the big dog escorts Claus up to his room, stopping outside his room.
06[21:59] * Claus would get in his room and go straight to his bed. Not been there in ages. Then he would put the blanket over his head, pop open his Pokedex, and write up a text to Lucky. Hopefully she'd figured the Pokedex out enough by now. He starts typing a message, then stops. Was it reallly right to not be honest with them about this? They seemed so invested in his powers, after all...eeegh.
06[22:01] * Lakshmi shrugs as she enters the bed. "Clausy..." She takes her Dex out and tries to fiddle with it to send a message to Claus! After a few minutes however... 'claus wat wer u doin ther?w' is sent to his Dex.
[22:05] <Lakshmi> She then sends a picture of babylapras to Frederica on Gennis as well! 'hey it wus bron! hlep me naem it!1' is written on it.
06[22:06] * Claus gets the message, thanking Arceus he usually had the thing set to be silent on texts. After a few minutes, Lucky gets a "wishing I had realized I'd be visiting my parents here. Although the plan wasn't to visit them, originally."
[22:08] <Lakshmi> 'aww rilly? ths sucks i mean thye look a bti ocld but they are ur parents!' she sends back to Claus. Oh god that grammar.

[22:13] <Claus> He grimaces to himself.  No way around it, he guesses.  "It wouldn't be too difficult to deal with normally, but I...sort of lost my abiltiies, and...my parents are really invested in them.  Would you...think you're up to getting out of here during the night?  Because I don't think I'm going to get away easily otherwise."
[22:15] <Lakshmi> 'if u are really sure... then yesss i guess. window?'
[22:16] <Claus> "Yeah, be careful not to make too much noise, though."
[22:16] <Lakshmi> (So more sneak rolls to get out of the window?)

01[22:20] <@Paradox> Claus on the other hands, does everything quietly enough to avoid rousing Tallheart, and manages to climb down from the windowsill smooth as a cat.
06[22:21] * Claus gracefully falls out. He's had a bit of practice at this, but knowing Lucky hasn't, he runs out to make sure she's okay, and....oh.
06[22:23] * Claus siiiighs, quietly, then types up and sends a text on his Pokedex. Welp. he's gonna' have to carry her. Oh boy. This is gonna' suck.

[22:34] <Lakshmi> "Clausy?" She is a bit groggy and tries to lean on him. "What's wrong?"
[22:34] <Claus> "I gave up my psychic powers to someone else who needed them more.  That's the short version.  Don't ask for the long version, trust me.  And my parents are so invested in them, hell if I know why, but I don't think they'd be able to handle me not having them.  It was a bad idea to take you to my house and I'm really sorry."
[22:35] <Lakshmi> "It's okay... I mean, i still dunno what is goin' on but you are my friend, Clausy, and the club takes care of its own!"
[22:37] <Claus> "And...well..." He swallows. "I think I owe you an apology for something else, too..."
06[22:38] * Lakshmi tilts her head. "Eh?"
[22:40] <Claus> "I...I've been leading you on.  I'm...not really interested in a romantic relationship or anything, it's just...I...have a hard time saying no.  And now I've got you and Aurelie and maybe even some of those exchange students expecting things from me because I led them on and....I just...I'm horrible.  I know I can't even be a good boyfriend and really shouldn't be one like my dad says but
[22:40] <Claus> I just keep..." He blinks, thinking a bit.  "I just keep making you expect more...I'm really sorry..."
[22:42] <Lakshmi> "..." Lucky hiccups for a bit while looking below. "Uuuu..." She starts crying for a few seconds. "O-okay... *hic*, i-i... It's okay, i'm too plain compared to Aurelie or even Miss Jin or Alexis..."
[22:43] <Claus> "It's....no, no!  You're not the problem.  It's me.  I don't...I..."

06[22:55] * Claus takes off his glasses and wipes the water off his face. "Yes. I feel like I want to die right now."
