  3. At the very least there should be more separate life categories like there exist only for the helicopters. I don't see any real reason to not apply the same logic to Mig21/F5/Su25A/A10A etc, as there is currently near zero incentive to fly any of these. If anything the current system actively discourages using them, with the better machines being on the same life pool. Secondly I also wonder how fair the 4 life limit in general is for newer people, and those who want to play for longer times. It's nearly impossible to run out of lives if you play for just an hour or 2, but some people like to play for much longer. I don't really see how its fair that those people are punished for wanting/being able to play more. It's also frustrating when you play with a squad and have to 'save' your lifes or risk being unable to fly with your friends at a later time.

  5. It also heavily discourages picking a faction that is outnumbered, as you're much more likely to die frequently and thus being blocked from playing.

I still like the system for discouraging the most egregious of suicidal behaviour, but I do think an increase in the lives (6 or 8 perhaps) or a more frequent reset of lives would do a lot of good. this would make the server a bit more accessible and less punishing on the aforementioned people. This would keep the idea of This would also make things a bit more forgiving when it comes to the frequent lives lost in client and server crashes.

  12. Refueling system and M2K

  14. The M2K has kinda thrown a wrench in the whole 'balance' of refueling, since it has comparable endurance to both the 27 and 15 with less than half the fuel capacity. Some people suggested removing fuel from the M2k but that won't change a thing. Even if it starts from zero, fuelling will be quite far along by the time start up is complete. At best it will slow it down by something like 1.5 mins extra. When added to the massive advantage of being able to do quick refuelling/arming from forward bases, there is no way the FC3 fighters can compete with the m2k quality of life.

  16. Since there is no way of bringing the m2k down to the level of FC3, the only rational balancing measure is to remove the necessity to fuel the FC3 machines as well. At the very least have them start at a much higher value (80% or so). Preventing instant take off and making them a better choice next to the mirage.

  19. Captured airbases

  21. The fact that captured bases currently offer nothing but 2 strikers and 2 useless fighters makes it very hard to push distant bases when the numbers are anywhere close to equal. It feels like the game grinds to a halt at this point due to the inability to keep pushing for bases effectively. Making a push at this point requires a major majority in numbers, or doing it when the server is practically empty. Neither is very fun, and the game is by far at its worst when you have to do the final push. It all comes down mostly to momentum and numbers rather than any sort of skill.

  23. Another problem is that you are endlessly starting from the same bases. As red I'm pretty tired of taking off from Mineralny or Maykop for the 100th time despite owning bases in pak 6 and 4. Especially the bases in pak6 feel completely meaningless after they are captured by red.

  25. To improve this it would be nice to add something like 2 m2k and 2 15/27 to any captured bases. This would help keep the momentum going a bit. It also would be nice to have 4 or so high end fighter slots on bases like Nalchik and Beslan, making them a bit more relevant.

  27. I suppose the reason that this is not done atm is to slow the capturing down, preventing a round from ending too soon. But it seems to me that this is a bit of a relic from early blue flags where there was massive focus on the overal victory and the long term mentality behind it. Currently I believe that having a much wider assortment of 'useful' airfields would make the gameplay a lot more dynamic and interesting.

  33. I've always thought these guys were a total pain. I do not enjoy fighting against AI and their lame all seeing radar. Having played without AI for this long now it's so much better. You can always count on a plane you see being flown by an actual human, and no more obnoxious AI locking everything across half the AO. Also, no more worrying about one of your teammates accidentally triggering an entire AI airfleet by flying in the wrong direction. Please, keep AI away from the server.
