Masked Rider Kick Hopper II: Marco Diaz 7!

>Janna woke up with a Spring in her step, avoiding the pranks her brat brothers had set up for her she skipped down the stairs two at a time
>with a quick breakfast, Janna was out the door and headed to school.
>Today was the day the first issues of the School paper went up after all, and if she wasn't there no one'd get the pleasure of reading the fruits of her journalistic efforts.
>The Janitor waved to her as he unlocked the doors, allowing her to slip in and head to the news club's room.
>not that it was much of a Club, seeing as she was it's only member. but such mundane worries rolled off her back like water off a duck's.
>it was only when she reached her pile of neatly folded papers did her good mood stall, for on top of today's issue was a note.
>"this is you last warning, bla bla bla, immediate violent action, yada yada yada, signed Masquerade" She real aloud to herself before crumbling up the note and tossing it over her shoulder.
>She briefly considered paying the note mind, what with the mysterious accidents that had been plaguing the "less popular" clubs (Star Fan13 was still depressed over the fire that burned down the manga club's meeting room) before shrugging it off.
>"Pffft, whatever" She groused as she loaded the papers into her satchel and walked into the halls, waiting for the swell of students to arrive.
>"Extra, extra!" Janna called, waving a school newspaper over her head "Read all about it! Rumors of the Wong family having ties to criminal organizations go unresponded to!" She continued to shout, despite not seeming to draw any customers forward
>Sadly, ever since Janna had taken over the school paper things hadn't been on easy street, especially when the funding got mysteriously cut. But Janna's headstrong determination (and use of some dirty tactics) managed to keep the Echo Creek nail biter running, if only barely.
>"Oooh!" Star called, jumping over to inspect the paper, attracted by Janna's shouting more than what she was saying "I'll buy one!" She said cheerfully.
>"Sure Star! that'll be two bucks!" Janna said with a wide grin as she noticed more students attention being drawn to her.
>Star checked the pockets on her dress before pulling them out, revealing that she was stone cold broke.
>"I'll be right back!" Star said before rushing into the crowd of students, accidentally knocking into Sabrina on her way and sending the accident prone girl tumbling down the stairs (her cry of "I'm Okay" resounding from the bottom of them).
>Star was back in a flash, dragging an annoyed Marco behind her. Stopping in front of Janna Star pointed at the school paper she was holding "Marco, I need to burrow two dollars to buy one of these!" She said quickly, starting to bounce as she spoke
>"Hey Diaz," Janna greeted with one of her sly grins "Wanna make that two?" She asked as an annoyed Marco forked over the Money for Star's paper "I'll give it to you for free if yo-"
>"No thanks" Marco replied flatly "Maybe some other time" he continued as Star opened up the paper.
>She seemed to scan it before growing bored and handing into to Marco, before something new caught her eye and she was off like a shot.
>From there things went well enough, Star's interest in the paper, no matter how short lived, managed to draw in some more customers, and by the time School was started proper most of her stock had been bought up.
>Walking to class, she didn't notice the venomous look a skinny blonde student was giving her.
>Later on Marco and Star were walking home, Star acting as a lead to Marco who had his nose stuck in Janna's Paper.
>"What's so interesting in there?" Star asked curiously, causing Marco to look up from the paper.
>"It's actually really well written" Marco explained "I didn't know Brittney's family had their fingers in this many pies" but before Marco could continue reading his phone went off.
>Looking at his phone, Marco did a double take before answering "Janna!" Marco exclaimed "Why is your number in my contacts!?" he inquired incredulously.
>"That's a funny story" Janna said, before continuing without really answering Marco's question "Anyways, I was wondering if you'd be willing to sit down for an interview?" She asked casually.
>"and you're waiting until now to ask?" Marco replied curiously
>"Well, there wouldn't been time to put it into this week's issue, they're mostly written a week in advance, y'know?" she replied "So are you up for it or- HEY!" Janna suddenly yelled "LET GO OF ME!" she continued to yell, though her voice seemed to be getting farther and farther away.
>"what was that all about?" Star asked, having heard Janna's cries
>"I don't know, but it sounds bad!" Marco replied worriedly "Do you have a spell that'll let us find Janna?" Marco inquired
>Janna thrashed in the grip of her captor "Let me go you freak!" She screamed, finally managing to get an arm free and delivering a brutal punch to her captor's kidney.
>"AAGH!" He screamed as he tossed her to the ground "That's it!" He roared.
>Looking at her captor, Janna was shocked to see the blond haired youth before her "Lucas?" She asked incredulously
>The blond teen snarled at her, Lucas looked just as sickly as he had looked when he was expelled.
>"That's right!" He hissed, a crazed look in his eyes "eyesores like you, worms that dare insult my precious Brittney, MUST BE PUNISHED!" He screamed as he pulled out a device that looked like a flash drive with a stylized M emblazoned upon it
>"Masquerade" the device intoned before Lucas jammed it into his throat causing his body to change. His nondescript clothes changing into a suit while his face seemed to grow a spinal column and turned the color of tar.
>"So you're the one who's been attacking the clubs?" Janna asked, trying to cover her fear with curiosity.
>"Those were all test runs!" He proclaimed as he began advancing towards her "After all, if I was weak, how could I stand by my precious Brittney!" he said before roaring with mad glee
>"She's not even into you!" Janna shot back as she put on a brave face "you stalking her is what got you expelled!"
>"Because I was weak then" He replied, his manic glee replaced by a calculating coldness now "But thanks to "them", I'm more than strong enough to be her equal now."
>"Rainbow Dragon fist fire!" Star called, blasting Lucas with a rainbow colored fist made of fire,
>"Janna, run!" Marco called, as he transformed "Star cover me!" He ordered jumping forward as Star prepped another spell.
>As Janna ran to the safety of cover, Marco reached the now rising Lucas and delivered a kick that sent him into the air where he was hammered by a spell from Star.
>Hitting the ground and rolling, Lucas managed to use his momentum to right himself, as he took shuddering breaths his body began to glow.
>"Worms who get in the way of my love must be PUNISHED!" He screamed at the top of his lungs as copies of him seemed to appear out of nowhere "GET THEM!" he raged, pointing at Star and Marco.
>"Like we practiced Star!" Marco called, and at her affirmation tapped the metal plate on the side of his belt "Clock up!"
>While he was doing this Star pointed her wand at herself "Nuclear caffeine mist!" She cried as the wand unleashed a burst of coffee scented gas into her face.
>From where Janna was watching it seemed as if Marco had disappeared while Star became a streak of color her eyes could barely follow, in mere seconds all the minions Lucas had summoned crumpled to the ground before exploding.
>"Woah." was all the amazed journalist to be could say.
>"WHAT!?" Lucas roared in confusion, how had those that worms managed to defeat his minions!?
>"Thatwassocoolweweremovingsofastandkickingandblasting-" Star rambled at light speed as her entire body seemed to vibrate despite her standing still.
>"Woah Star, deep breaths!" Marco jovially commented "you ready to finish this, partner?" Marco asked Star
>"YeahtotallyletsdoitI'msoexcited!" the still caffeine rushing Star chirped.
>"Rider jump!" "Super Turbo!" Marco and Star exclaimed in unison
>"Rider Kick!" "Kick Booster!" They roared as one as Star's spell hit Marco, causing a rocket to grow out of his back which increased the force of his kick.
>"Lucas screamed as the kick made contact, the pure power behind it knocking the Gaia memory right out of him.
>Landing gracefully as the rocket popping out of his back poofed away, Marco approached the downed Lucas, picking up the Gaia memory her was reaching for and crushing it in his hand.
>"My power" Lucas cried before he passed out.
>"That was so cool!" Janna cried as she ran from safety, throwing an arm around the still armored Marco's shoulders "I definitely have to interview you!" She raved "Think of all the papers I could sell!" Marco sighed, allowing his armor to recede.
>"Sorry Janna, no can do" Marco said, ignoring her groan of annoyance "sure, the other kids at school know, but I'd rather not risk it really getting out there, you know?" He said while looking at her.
>"Fiiiiine" Janna moaned, before pulling away and smiling "I'll take your house keys as a consolation prize!" She declared, running off with Marco's house keys.
>"Janna no!" Marco called, only to hear a meaty thud as the caffeine spell finally wore off of Star, causing her to fall over asleep."
>"Augh!" Marco complained as he picked Star up, his keys would have to wait, as would calling the police to pick up Lucas.
