- Pound Cake
- ~1 cup milk
- 4 tsp vinegar
- 3 cups white flour
- 1.5 cups sugar (brown 50% white 50%)
- 1 tsp 50% baking soda 50% baking powder
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 pound butter
- * Make buttermilk by combining milk and vinegar. Keep in room temperature for at least 15 minutes.
- * Heat butter until soft and partially melted. Mix with sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- * Mix white flour and baking soda together in a separate large mixing bowl.
- * Mix in 1/3 of the flour mixture, then 1/2 of the buttermilk - repeat until finished. Add ingredients as the previous one is fully mixed in.
- * Place on a well greased loaf pan and bake at 325F (160C) for one hour. Check with a knife until it is cooked through.
- * Let rest for half an hour before removing from the pan.
