  23. Backstory:
  24. Raised as an only child, the Hwang family was booming. She grew up in an upper-middle class area of Singapore, which she would live there for the majority of her life. A silver spoon in her mouth didn't reflect well in terms of friends or any acquaintances, so despite her family's wealth she had trouble connecting to people because of her family's status. Her father, Howard, was the entrepreneurial co-founder along with his college friend of Eclipse International, a private security firm directed at local banks. Business was steady, and fortunately and profitably favoring Eclipse, many other similarly based companies had interest outside of the country.
  25.
  26. During this transition, Venus didn't need a scholarship to get into college with the financial backing of her now considerably wealthy family. However, Venus was burdened with scholastic work. Feeling the enormous pressure from both her parents and the future public image of the family, Venus unfortunately struggled. Switching through too many majors, she never locked down was she was truly passionate with in college. As a direct result, she coped by developing a barbiturate addiction, taking at her absolute worst a pill bottle a day. She was also using the money given from her father to feed the drive. Eventually the rest of the Hwang family caught wind of her troubles, and in a harsh act disowned her as a child, effectively cutting her off and marooning her. Without any hesitation, she dropped out of college with no clear goal or objective.
  27.
  28. The Deus Ex Machina to change her view on the world was a love interest with her drug supplier. Under the moniker "Mercury," he would exchange sexual favors for her addiction. During this time frame, the stock market began to plummet, causing less work for Eclipse. Venus knew she was being manipulated, but without a drive for anything else it was hard to motivate her. Eventually, she stood up to Mercury, telling him no more favors. Mercury had expected this, presenting his fail-safe which was contracting unemployed Eclipse agents to place a hit on her. Targeted by her father's former employees and betrayed by her partner, an altercation in a back alley with Eclipse forces turned in favor of Venus, as her rage coupled with barbiturate withdraw turned her insanely violent. This surge of pain and emotion uncovered her hidden capabilities as a conduit, with an extremely rare sequence that possessed traits unknown to her.
  29.
  30. This blood drive twisted her into an extremely ruthless force, poised at getting back at her father and former lover. She developed alliances with the local drug cartels and counter-attacked, causing a large scale violent uprising in the wealthier districts of Singapore. After the dust had settled from a 3 weeks long conflict, the immediate repressions were the death of Mercury, assimilation of his Eclipse forces, and dissolution of many local drug cartels due to the high casualties they sustained. Her father saw the opportunity and proceeded a campaign to reconstruct the affected districts. In a weird turn of events, her father had profited on Venus' failures.
  31.
  32. The wake of the conflict left Evie on the run from the authorities, who had eventually caught up to her and landed her a place in a prison of the coast of Malaysia. She felt even more abandoned, picked on for being one of the only females at the facility. She secretly was fascinated by her truthfully unique connection. There, she would watch on TV how her Eclipse International was hired by various governments to detain conduits. Her stay would be cut short, as former members of her resistance group broke into the prison and aided her escape. She changed her name to avoid suspicion from any governmental body, and her splinter group made a similar decision by re-branding as Mastiff United. Despite their once common alliance, the group developed a rift and otherwise tense relation with Evie. She would leave the group, still grateful and maintaining allies within it, aimed at going to the United States to escape her past, and hearing about similar conduits surfacing state-side.

  34.
  35. Her transition to the United States was an even darker time for her, as her cycling in and out of her addiction made it hard for her to settle down. She honed her abilities with this Vampiric gene, as she became more adept and embraced the conduit powers fully. Her time in the States cemented her bias towards mostly men and normal humans, fueling her rage and hatred. Her new goal was to make a name for herself from the ground up, in a new environment poised for non-conduit enslavement.
