- Judy got home, still breathing hard from her run—or at least she had been thinking of this place more and more as home. She still had her own apartment, but she had been spending far more time here at Nick’s ever since their little tryst in the ZPD gym had brought them together. Frankly, it had more than her own in every way: it was bigger, had more amenities, Nick, an actual kitchen, fox musk.
- She shook her head for a second, trying to clear it. Stepping in always felt like getting hit with a wave of scents to her; not that rabbits had the best noses, but foxes had quite powerful smells.
- Speaking of the fox, she wondered where he had gotten off to. His apartment wasn’t that much bigger than hers, and she couldn’t see him anywhere.
- “Nick? I’m home from my run.”
- A sudden scramble to her right, towards the bathroom, was the only warning she got. That gave her just enough time to duck and roll forwards as a red blur flew overhead where she had been standing moments prior, yelling as it passed.
- “Savage fox attack!”
- The first few times this kind of thing had happened it had been impromptu. A little playtime wrestling had gotten more serious, devolved into them trying to outdo each other. But now? Now it was a game, and neither wanted to lose.
- Judy quickly rolled onto her back, one foot up ready to ‘defend’ herself. She knew she would need every advantage she could get, Nick waited until just the right moment to spring this on her; waiting until she was tired, sweaty and out of breath from a good long job.
- She kept her eyes on Nick, watching as he prowled around the kitchen table on all fours. She made sure her foot was facing him at all times, getting up was too risky, it would leave her vulnerable to another tackle—but from this position she could stall, catch her breath a little. Nick wouldn’t risk one of her kicks to the stomach.
- At least that’s what Judy had thought. Nick needed to go on the offensive though; couldn’t give her the rest she needed to recover.
