  1. The strong smell of incense clings to the air around the metaphysical store. A piece of paper is taped to the door. ?Now with 24hr service! Just ring the bell and someone will come out to help you with your spiritual needs.? When the door is opened a little bell chimes and alerts the shop owner to the presence of patrons. Inside he shop Jayde and Arcelia sit on a sofa in the center of the room chatting over a book.
  2.
  3. Jayde is sitting as stated prior. She has dressed in a simple black sundress dress with some pastel colors peaking through the skirt. A knit hooded shall rests on her shoulders, the hood currently down. She has a tablet on her lap, a bag perched next to her. She has a tablet on her lap which was being used if help was needed for communication. Her hair was up in a braid and her Amber eyes glinting in facination.
  4.
  5. Alijah comes walking in looking about he is out and about getting to know the area. He has his hands tucked into his coat pockets eyes taking in who is there, when he spots Jayde. His eyes linger on her for a long moment watching her before heading to find a place to sit down eyes just watching Jayde with that classis smirk on his face man what a creeper!
  6.
  7. Marcelo comes into the shot only a few moments later, stretching a bit, and yawning. Apparently, he just woke up. "Hola, como estas," he notes to almost nobody in particular. Clearly, he thought that only Arcelia would be here. And she's deaf, so saying it was a formality. Spotting Jayde, and Alijah, he just... Blinks. "Oh good, I'm not the only one coming here." Alijah is given a wave, and a smile, before Marcelo plops down, sitting next to him and relaxing a bit. "Part of the fun is seeing how long it takes Arcelia to notice she has guests." Of course Jayde gets a wave as well, though it's more finger-waggling than anything.
  8.
  9. Arcelia looks up as the tall man makes his way into her shop and settles down next to them. "Something I can do for you this night, Senor?" Her Spanish is perfect but her accent suggests she is deaf. For the moment she doesnt notice Marcelo at all, her attention on Alijah.
  10.
  11. Rafael arrives in the shop dressed as he so often is... Dark blazer, clean white shirt, dark slacks, but today he has a leather messenger back on his shoulder and a phone in hand as he crosses the threshold. Upon spying Alijah and Marcelo the older gentleman says in his pleasant baritone, "Did you both have the same idea to look for some arcane assistance to the new estate?"
  12.
  13. Jayde can not help but notice when someone else comes in. Damn those little bells. Recognition dawns on her features and she looks a moment between him and Arcelia. 'Oh...,' tip-tap-tippity tap. 'I promise no one is going to get hurt.... but this is going to be interesting.' As she passes on this message, though Marcelo came in. She turns to him gives him a wave in return. Then her gaze turns back to Alijah. Just like he was staring, Jayde's gaze turns to staring back. When Rafael comes in, and upon hearing his voice she raises a hand in greating, but still keeps staring.
  14.
  15. Alijah continues to look at Jayde, "No senorita, just out and about getting to know the town." he smiles when Marcelo comes and sits down next to him and stretches a bit, "It seems so my friend." he looks to the man next to him then back at Jayde, "No, Senor just catching up with some old friends."
  16.
  17.
  18. With everyone greeting and talking to Marcelo and Rafael she turns her head to see them. She lifts a hand and then looks to Alijah again. "Very well, I will leave you to it. Are you one of Jayde and Mr. Sinclair?s special friends?" She moves over to Rafael and Marcelo. "I can try to help but it may take me a good amount od time to accomplish this. Let us talk about what you are looking for, Senor."
  19.
  20. Marcelo just lounges a bit, smiling and winking at Arcelia. "We all know him as 'Paladin', young one, si." And that should confirm that everyone here knows what is up. "I dropped by to see if you were wanting to learn some more. About the... 'Night life', as it were. But you already have company. Good company, but si, already busy." A glance to Jayde, then to Alijah, and chuckles. "If you two are to scuffle, do not do so inside. Or... At least do so where you will not break anything." He then smiles at Rafael. "I was not looking for assistance like that, no, but that's not a bad idea. I am sure it would be helpful. Thankfully, you've got a good head on your shoulders. I don't know where mine would be, if I could safely move it."
  21.
  22. "I need the basic wards one might expect of a resident of your patron Mr. Sinclair." Rafael explains in a low but curt baritone. Even with the familiar faces who get a polite nod from the older gentleman he seems reserves as those dark earthy eyes look at Arcelia. He seems very intentional in his words, even pacing to them, and he tries to maintain eye contact as he speaks. Evidently he may be broody but he is not rude to the deaf woman by turning away when they speak.
  23.
  24. Jayde can't help but smile at Marcelo's comment, she waves a hand passively. Jayde does not think the fight would get physical at all. She looks down to her tablet and writes in big bold letters. 'NAH... He just grumpy. I am impulsive... he knows that but he still gets grumpy and holds on to it.' She responds, holding it up to where even he could see it. She then goes back to staring, as if she never stopped. It was technically fair can't communicate otherwise. Everyone else could talk out the side of their mouth if they wanted.
  25.
  26. "There are many different types of wards, Senor. What type of ward are you looking for? An alert system? An advanced lock system?" She pauses. "One thing I am fairly sure I can do is give each member of your pack a trinket that helps ward them from magical perception."
  27.
  28. Arcelia then looks to Marcelo. "What do you think? Ideas?"
  29.
  30. Alijah smirks, "Well would you not be grumpy as well if someone up and left with out warning?" he says still watching Jayde, you know he is tired of staring at her and gets up moving over to her, "Excuse me a moment Senorita." he says to Arcelia then leans down so his face is very close to Jayde and he leans in ever so close and captures her lips with his own in a soft nip then he leans in to whisper something in her ear.
  31.
  32. "Better than that, I think perhaps making it difficult to want to look at the place would be interesting. At least, if you do not already know that it is there." Marcelo nods to Arcelia, and the vampire-oriented in the room would know specifically what Marcelo means - Obfuscate. He means to have a permanent Obfuscation upon the entire abode. "...But si, magical perception as well. Protection from the mundane, and the magical."
  33.
  34. Rafael looks aside as Alijah kisses Jayde and there is an audible and withering sigh at the public display of affection. He shakes his head slowly while replying to Arcelia, "A magical trinket for the pack would help let us say ten just in case the numbers swell. Then alerts for every door and window, including the interior if it can be placed in such a way to ignore those who belong."
  35.
  36. Marcelo doesn't seem too dumbfounded by the kiss, but he does chortle a bit.
  37.
  38. Shock. That was what crossed her face at first. Not the route she expected him to take. Her pale skin might take a little rosier tone that usual. She will grab his sleeve a moment and tug on it. "I'm sorry," While no sound come out, it's clear what she is saying. She then pulls up the tablet and adjust the font to speak with Alijah. 'Next time though, next time you make that grumpy face I will put a sticker right there,' she points and taps his forehead. 'I will do better about communicating. I missed you too.' She looks around. 'I just gotta remind people I can do things... sometimes.' She looks over to the others. She adjusts the font back before typing a new message. 'I'm working on being able to assist with warding too. Though mine would likely be a last line of defense due to the nature of it. I'm still learning though.'
  39.
  40. Arcelia does not notice the kiss as she is paying mind to Marcelo and Rafael. She looks back to Marcelo. ?Marcelo? What other abilities do Vam... Cainites have that act as wards?" She offers him a warm smile. "If you can teach me about them I might be able to replicate them."
  41.
  42.
  43.
  44. Rafael looks at Marcelo somewhat expectantly for this tidbit of information.
  45.
  46. Alijah snorts looking at Marcelo and Rafael, he looks down at Jayde when she tugs on h is sleeve nodding his head, "We should talk at some point." he still looks grummpy and walks back over to plop back down next to Marcelo and listen to whats being talked about his eyes still flicking over at Jayde ever now and then.
  47.
  48. Though the scene with Alijah and Jayde makes Marcelo smile, his attention is drawn to the question Arcelia poses. "Hmm? Oh. Si, we do have some... Useful tactics. Sinclair and Jayde here, they come from the 'Lasombra' Clan, who is adept at manipulating shadows. Alijah, the man who so eloquently stopped the mute from speaking - well done sir, well done - is from the Clan of Assamites, and they are adept at... Well, I have -heard- that it is useful for assassination but that may be a misnomer. I do know that they can confer magical silence." He gestures to himself. "I can craft monsters of flesh, being of the Tzimisce Clan, but also have the ability to speak and even control animals, perhaps for bodyguards or alarm systems. To some extent. There are a slew of others, I'm sure, that could be used in a defensive manner. I can get a dossier together if that would help; some knowledge of the Clans would surely be of use to you. And by proxy, to the Diocese."
  49.
  50. Arcelia nods to Marcelo. "That would be very useful, thank you." There is another smile and then the phone in her pocket begins to vibrate. "Excuse me." She steps out for a while.
  51.
  52. Rafael watches the young deaf woman step away and then turns to Marcelo giving him an appropriate nod given his standing and speaks in perfect spanish, "<It seems the pack is at least starting to think alike if we all ended up here of our own accord.>"
  53.
  54. Jayde nods. First to Alijah. Talking later is something that can be done. Then when Marcelo starts giving out the information, she nods in agreement. She too stands up to join the group, to communicate more effectively. When Arcelia steps out, she looks over her pack a moment. Tilting her head and examining those that are here. Her expression somewhat speaks for her. What a unigue group that has gathered here.
  55.
  56. Marcelo looks over to Rafael and smiles. "Si, I think so. Though, I was here to teach her things, rather than seek her assistance. But... Perhaps it would be useful for her to know this anyway." There's a small chuckle. "I think you are right, Senor. We are beginning to think quite the same as each other."
  57.
  58. Arcelia comes back and offers a smile. "Know what?" She looks between Rafael and Marcelo curiously.
  59.
  60. 'Has a building been chosen?' Jayde asks from the tablet. 'Is there one that shows promise?'
  61.
  62. "Si, I believe there has been one chosen, though... Perhaps it needs some remodeling. During that I am sure we can... Add in our personal touches." Marcelo chimes in with a smile. "Something unassuming." He doesn't know much more than that, because he's been busy with other work; but he's gotten inklings, here and there, as to what is happening.
  63.
  64. Sedna comes in from La Mesa Penitencia - El Pueblito
  65. Sedna has arrived.
  66.
  67. Jayde nods at the information. 'That is good. Remodeling it will better help us fit our needs.' she responds. 'I think it would be beneficial to all.' her fingers typing and she holds it up to read. until more decsions were made, there was little else she could say about it. She the turns the tablet back around, listening as she types.
  68.
  69. Rafael puts his phone away and opens up his messenger bag to procude what look like printed out blueprints, much to small to be official copies but more hand out variety. He offers it over to Marcelo. "There are two townhouses against one another outside the chapel. I plan to evict the gangs from them and remodel. Knock out the walls so we have joined floors, dig down."
  70.
  71. Marcelo stretches some, and eyes the bag with the blueprints, then takes one from Rafael. "Hmm. Townhouses? Not exactly super luxurious... Possible to dig beneath as well? So long as we do not interrupt the Nosferatu in their demesne." Because digging down is always a dangerous proposition if you don't inform the Nosferatu first. "...That being said I do not believe there are many of them in the city. Sneaky as they are, there might be dozens." Who really knows, right? "I do not envy the idea of expanding them upward or outward, so... Down seems the most likely if we want more space."
  72.
  73. "Nosferatu? Like the scary vampire monsters from the old movies?" Arcelia asks them, not having much else to say since this isn't her Domitor's pack.
  74.
  75.
  76.
  77. "Yes they are more or less like that." Rafael confirms while turning to look at Arcelia who has returned from stepping away. "So you will read this dossier from senor Marcelo and let me know what you think of wards and charms for my needs?"
  78.
  79. Marcelo half-waves a hand, as if confirming what Rafael says. "More or less, si. They all have some kind of... Unfortunate deformity or otherwise permanent manifestation that causes them to be... Unable to show their faces to the majority of people. It would cause a riot, for people to know monsters exist, no?" Which is true. People would freak out. "I can give you a brief summary of the Clans, all Thirteen of the major ones, and the minor ones that I can recall. There are... Quite a few. It will be a full night, I think, but quite informative, once I put it together for you."
  80.
  81. "You will invariably fall asleep an hour in." Hey, when did Sedna get here? Swaying in in that for all intents and purposes, Brotish preparatory school uniform. She leaves her closed parasol by the entryway. "And do be careful about disparaging the Nosferatu, they have likely already heard it, and have snuck rats into your underwear drawer."
  82.
  83. Rafael looks in Sedna's direction with a dark and disparaging gaze, a quiet *tch* coming from the older spanish gentleman. "That seems rather small and petty of an embraced to do. Are you sure you do not disparage them senorita?"
  84.
  85. "Rats? They are messy but cute." Arcelia doesn't look worried about the rats. "How can I help you tonight, Ms. Sedna?" She offers a smile to Rafael. "I will do what I can, of course." Arcelia then looks to Marcelo. "Anything, everything. Whatever you can and will teach."
  86.
  87. "In all fairness, Senor," Marcelo notes to Rafael, "we are Sabbat and thus we support other Sabbat. But there are internal strifes, do not think otherwise. And, at times, when you are unwilling to kill the other - such as with Monomacy - a prank is the best choice." And Marcelo has likely been on one end or perhaps both, of such pranks. "I do not disparage the Nosferatu intentionally; it is known that their specific branch of the curse is... Heavy. But they do not seek pity. Honorable, that." He gives a gentle nod to Arcelia. "Ghouled rats, however, are good spies. And they can be powerful. I will do my best to teach. A gift of my time, to Paladin Sinclair." That seems about fitting. However, to Sedna, he raises an eyebrow. "If she indeed falls asleep, then it is her own fault. I offered knowledge, not entertainment. If it was entertainment... Then I would have offered to bring you, as well."
  88.
  89. "Ah, so it is." Sedna motions to herself. "Entertainment." Her lips quirk up into a smirk. "You will find my dear, that petty is a word that can all to often be applied to both cainite and... mortal. The Nosferatu however are masters of it, in part because they can tell you what the Archbishop will be wearing tomorrow before she even decides. They see al, and what they do not see, they hear."
  90.
  91. Arcelia narrows her eyes playfully at Marcelo. "No doing mean things to me if I fall asleep." She crinkles her nose and offers a smile. "I own a business, I go to school fulltime, I have to learn all this new Cainite business, and Paladin Sinclair puts me to task making toys for him and you all." She sticks her tongue out at Marcelo. "I am entitled to some sleep at some point or I will get sick and be useless to you all for a length of time."
  92. A hair shorter than average, and skinny without being overly so, is the woman. Brown hair frames her face, and indeed most of her body as when it is unbound it easily drifts down to her waist, in long, straight tresses. Her face is heart shaped, her brown eyes just a little to large, her nose just a little to big, complexion smooth, with just the hint of darkness common to those of latina heritage, but it seems to be almost fading out on her to a paler tone.
  93.
  94. Her clothing is dependant on the time, but she seems to prefer dresses, stockings, and heels, all of them the finest fashions that one can find, for those that pay attention to such things.
  95.
  96.
  97. Jayde tilts her head listening to the banter. knowing right now its probably better to not say much. or in her case type much. that is for now.
  98.
  99. The Italian Tzimisce nods in agreement with that, to Sedna. "Indeed. And if it is not true, then it would still behoove us to believe it is. Keeps us on our toes, and... You never know if it becomes truth." Marcelo is a cautious man, when it comes to that. To other things... He is quite reckless. Oh well. Rolling his head over to look at Arcelia, he sticks his tongue out at her right back. "Senorita, if anything was done to you, it would not be mean. I have promised the Paladin as much, and to boot, I don't wish to do mean things to you." Or else... He may have already done so. Damn Cathari. "I think you have to worry more about madness than illness, however. I will have the information for you within a few nights, at the most."
  100.
  101. "The ghouls will learn the quirks soon enough, or die, but hopefully they will heed when you dispense wisdom" Sedna give a small nod to Marcelo, and a softer smile, but her hands are flashing in American sign to Arc even as she speaks. <The only thing you must know is that you have been chosen to serve an important personage in the greatest of the clans. Do not disapoint.>
  102. Arcelia watches Sedna's hands before she leaves. "Paladin Sinclair told me what I need to know to serve him and is instructed me on what I should be doing accomplish that. But thank you for your direction all the same."
  103.
  104. "Serving a Cainite is less about knowing and more about doing. Actions always impress them further than words and..." Rafael briefly looks over the room, "I am not sure a... 'servant' like you is in this room save for me. So when you learn more of what would be best for arcane defenses I will take he time to educate you on being a well serving ghoul."
  105.
  106. Jayde watches the interactions. She types quickly on the tablet. 'That's a generous offer.' she notes for arcelia.
  107.
  108. Marcelo holds up a hand to Rafael. "It is not your place to teach her, Senor. She is not the Ghoul or Thrall of your Mistress." There is a raised eyebrow at that. "Though I appreciate your fervor for doing what is right. I am sure the sentiment would be valued. But, Sinclair shall decide that for her." He then smiles over at Arcelia. "It seems she knows what she needs to do. I am merely giving her further information, assist her in her purpose."
  109.
  110. "They are all very generous offers, it would likely make me suspicious of the catch." Sedna quirks her lips into a smirk, but then suddenly she is swaying over towards Jayde, taking in a deep inhalation of breath. "I thought I had smelled something nice."
  111.
  112. "I will be whatever kind of ghoul Paladin Sinclair wishes me to be." Arcelia offers as she handls some business at the check out counter. And the type of ghoul he wants me to be is a knowledegable sorceress and a useful sorceress. And so that is what I shall be.?
  113.
  114. Rafael sniffs quietly giving Marcelo a somewhat withering look before replying to Arcelia, "Unimaginative but better safe than sorry." his baritone flat and dry. "I look forward to working with you once you've read Senor Marcelo's documents and you become somewhat more educated until then." then for Jayde and Marcelo a curt nod.
  115.
  116. Jayde tilts her head at Sedna. 'Smell nice?' she sniffs the air. Mainly what she smelled was the items in the shop. She nods back to Rafael. 'That is what is needed, being the best you can be for him.' she nods in agreement.
