6:33 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> It was a nice and sunny day, but that didn't make Kara feel any better about the demon she knew was lurking under Will's new house and what she had to do about it.
6:36 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> She had the assistance of two angels, true, but that didn't make her any more comfortable with the idea of facing that thing.
6:40 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Putting her grievances aside, Kara closed her eyes. It was her duty to protect others. That's what she agreed to do, as a detective and as a necromancer. And no demon was going to get in her way.
6:41 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> At least, that's what she told herself when she woke up Thursday morning.||
6:47 PM <Thalia|Kara> She had a duty to the city and county. To her family. To the other Practitioners. And she needed to bring in whoever did this, but she needed some serious forces and a plan. The diabolist failed which may mean that their data was... wrong. Kara remembered hearing that angels would lose to their opposite numbered demon in a straight contest... that's why she needed support. Hopefully, she could rope a few people into it. But before she

7:03 PM <Thalia|Kara> They didn't need to know. In fact, they were better off not knowing. "Probably just doing the angel today, at the least. I'd honestly prefer you to stay away from the whole thing. Just in case... someone needs to take care of our kids." It was dangerous, but it needed to be done. Or else the whole town could end up fucked over. She gives her husband another kiss. "And before you try to talk me out of it, if we don't take care of it, it

7:10 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Logan nods. "I know. Just... as stupid as it sounds, be careful? You don't even have to say anything, I don't want to hurt you magic right when you need it most but... just try to be careful."||
7:15 PM <Thalia|Kara> Hopefully, she could make some calls to the other groups in town to get a coalition going. But... she had to be careful. Someone had to have sent the demon there and they might sabotage. Go in order of trust? "I'll see you again." In this life or the next, but for now? She had to see what her kids were doing.||

7:18 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> At the sight of her mother, Keira's eyes light up. "Mom! Connor is trying to make me think peanut butter is a sauce! Tell him he's wrong!"
7:19 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "I'm not wrong! Google says a sauce is a thick liquid served with food," he says, holding up his phone, "and peanut-"
7:20 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Shut up!" Keira says, interrupting him. "Peanut butter isn't a liquid and you can't convince me otherwise!"||
7:24 PM <Thalia|Kara> The worst part of the whole plan is that they wouldn't even remember her if he failed. That hurt her more than the dying... her kids and husband wouldn't remember her. "I don't think it is a liquid... unless you heat it up. But that's true of a lot of things. That's why some thai food has a peanut sauce." And peanut butter was the main ingredient if you were doing it at home.||
7:25 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Keira grins. "Ha! I told you!" she says, pointing a finger at her brother.
7:30 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "But wait Mom. Butter is like a solid but it's a liquid when it's heated, yet usually when you see it stored, it is in some kind of wrap or under a cover, but /rarely/ if ever in a jar."
7:32 PM <~Thepicheese|GM>  "So, if peanut butter is a solid, why would they store it in a jar? It just doesn't make sense to contain something that's a /solid/ inside of a container that's made for /liquids/. So, there's really the one obvious explanation..." he says, pausing for dramatic effect.
7:33 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Peanut butter HAS to be a liquid," Connor concludes as Keira groans.
7:34 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Do you see what I have to deal with every day?" she says to her mother.

7:37 PM <Thalia|Kara> She can't help but smile at her kids. Kara loved them both so much, even if Connor was silly. "Now Connor, I've seen people cook cinnamon rolls, cheesecake, pancakes, and some egg dishes. Which of those is a liquid?" She asks while grabbing a mug of coffee from the kitchen, smiling at her kids.||
7:40 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Well..." Connor says as he pours himself some cereal. "It mostly depends on how much you cook it and how. In their finished state, all four are solids, though a case could be made for the eggs and the cheesecake."
7:42 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "But now that I think about it... cheesecake /is/ pretty mushy..." he continues as he goes quiet, deep in his thoughts.
7:43 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Keira looks back and forth between her mom and brother. "It's not just me, right? I can't be the only one who thinks he's gone completely insane."||
7:46 PM <Thalia|Kara> All she can do is smile. "How much cooking does peanut butter need between processing and the state it is in now? I think it's too solid to be a sauce. If you heat it up and add some things, it would be. But sauces are usually thinner than that. Whipped cream wouldn't really be a sauce and it's thinner than peanut butter."||
7:51 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "I don't know," Connor says as he eats his cereal, snapping back to reality. "It's not like I work at a peanut processing plant. But for your whipped cream point, it's also thinner than a lot of sauces so it doesn't really count."
7:52 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "What's going on here?" Logan asks as he comes in, giving a sad smile to Kara and ruffling Connor's hair.
7:53 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Connor is lying through his teeth!" Keira says. "He thinks that peanut butter is a sauce!"
7:53 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Logan chuckles. "Does it really matter?"
7:53 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> At the same time, Keira and Logan say, "Yes it does!"||
8:00 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Keira, you should know better than to accuse someone of lying, right? He wouldn't be lying, he would just be wrong. You need to be careful with what you say." Kara turns her attention from Keira to Connor. "Sauces are usually more liquid than those two, however. I picked whipped cream because it will keep a shape in most situations... sort of like peanut butter."||
8:03 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Keira rolls her eyes. "I know he's /technically/ not lying but I still wanna use expressions while I can. I'll be careful when I start using magic."
8:07 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Haha!" Connor says at the mention of peanut butter keeping its shape. "Peanut butter does keep /some/ of its shape, yes, but, if that's true, then how come when you have a tall pile of peanut butter, it collapses and starts to smooth out? How do you explain that without calling peanut butter a liquid?"||
8:11 PM <Thalia|Kara> Kara kisses her daughter on the forehead. "I just want to make sure you understand, dear. It was -very- confusing, disorienting, and weird for me. I want your transition to be smoother." It was a pretty big change for Kara, but she got over it. "Ice cream does sometimes too. I would say that peanut butter could be a sauce if it's kept warmer, but in the natural state, it's more like a topping."||
8:14 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Humph," Connor says, going back to eating his cereal. "I see that you two are set against me. If nothing I say will convince you-"

8:19 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Ugh, but I barely got to eat because of Connor's dumb argument about the dumb sauce!" Keira says as she starts pouring her cereal. "I'll just eat in the car."
8:21 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Ha! So you /did/ call it a sauce!" Connor says, triumphant. Keira only groans, leaving the room as she tries to eat her cereal as quickly as she can.

8:26 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Keira, honey, just remember this piece of advice... boys will always surprise you with how dumb they can be." Kara manages to say with a smile as the kids head out. She gives her husband a big hug and holds onto him for a moment. How nervous she was? She had to keep it secret. Instead, she whispers something to him. "After I get done with the demon and after the kids go to bed... I want to celebrate, just the two of us." She quietly

8:30 PM <Thalia|Kara> "I love you too." She lets go of him and smiles. Kara was sure she would always love him."Now, go take the kids to school." She almost wanted to do it herself, just in case, but she was going to see them again. She was going to find a place to summon the knowledge angel, then she had to figure out what to do.||
8:33 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Logan squeezed her before leaving with the kids. Kara was the only one in the house, and if things went poorly, soon enough she'd be the only one to never return.||
8:36 PM <Thalia|Kara> It had to be done. She wouldn't summon the angel in the house, so she needed a quiet place to talk to the angel of knowledge. A good plan was going to be needed. Kara went and headed into work. There might be another case or something, but this was the priority.||

8:40 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The drive to the office was uneventful. Once she arrived and got settled, Adam came in and stood by the door. "If you need anything about the..." he said, trailing off, "don't be afraid to ask."||
8:41 PM <Thalia|Kara> Kara is already on her second coffee of the morning. She just nods at Adam. "Thanks. I'm hoping to be able to tackle it today after I talk to the informant... and then hope I can get some support. Anything else going on? I want a little warmup before tackling the big issue of the day."||

Mathis family said they wanted to send someone in later but they specifically mentioned that they wanted a Binder, so you don't have to worry about that. If you're really trying to find something else to do, there was something reported as missing from the warehouse. Nothing any of the others couldn't fix ourselves, but..."
8:53 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> he sighed, "I get it if you want to distract yourself."||
8:56 PM <Thalia|Kara> "I can take a look. It's not as much a distraction as a warm-up. Rather my third task of the day be the big one." A few compounding successes might help push her to a win there. "So, what happened at the warehouse?"||
9:01 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Makes sense. Some guys working there said an expensive package was stolen there, I think they mentioned a laptop. It shouldn't take too long to figure out, but if you find yourself at a dead end, don't forget that you have friends who can do magic." He winks before leaving her doorway and heading back to his own office.||
9:04 PM <Thalia|Kara> Well, that was a good way to delay the dreaded tasks of the day. Kara will head over to the warehouse to see what happened. Laptop might be expensive, but it's fairly lowkey in comparison to a murder and a demon. She'll knock it out of the way first. Time to see what was going on.||
9:08 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Kara arrives at the warehouse and sees a man on his phone sitting on a chair. The three vestiges, or Nomads, who usually hung around the entrance, were missing, though that was most likely because there was an innocent sitting right there.||
9:11 PM <Thalia|Kara> Well, nothing like some basic detective work to get the mind going. This should, hopefully, be straightforward. Maybe there will be some camera footage she can watch. Kara walks up to the man, flashing her badge as she does so. "I'm Detective Kara Neath. I'm here to investigate the missing package."||
9:16 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The man looks her up and down and gets up, heading to the door. He unlocks it and heads inside. "Security footage didn't show anything, so good luck finding out what happened. If you need a door unlocked or something, I'll be in my office," he says as he points to a door at the end of the room.||
9:18 PM <Thalia|Kara> It almost sounds magic, but... "Do you know where they entered, at least?" No use to assume for the moment. It could be easy for them to walk past all the cameras on certain paths, but that would almost make it seem like an inside job.||
9:20 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The man shrugs. "There's the one entrance. We have some emergency exits, but they don't open from the outside."

9:23 PM <Thalia|Kara> Maybe this would be harder than she thought. First thing first, she'll need to look around and spot where the cameras are... first thoughts before magic are that they avoided the cameras or altered the footage in the room. Both require someone on the inside.||
9:27 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The cameras don't cover much of an area. Whoever ordered them was either on an incredibly low budget or just didn't care enough to install that many. Of the 4 cameras in the warehouse, the one watching the entrance is broken, one is stuck watching a corner, and two are following the same aisle. It's a wonder that this place hasn't been robbed blind already.||
9:29 PM <Thalia|Kara> Man, that's why there was no camera footage. Kara can't help but sigh. Of course, she suspects that means that the person worked here, so next step... check for signs of forced entry. Windows, damage to the door, any of that.||
9:31 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> There doesn't look like there's forced entry, but as Kara looks throughout the warehouse, she comes across the ghost of a little boy. On seeing her, it calls out, "Mom?"||

9:43 PM <Thalia|Kara> Definitely an employee or someone stole a key. Especially since it seemed so targeted... however, she couldn't help but go up to the ghost. "Hello." She says quietly to it. "I'm not your mother, but did you see what happened here last night?"||
9:46 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Um... someone with long arms came and told me to be quiet. But- but can you please help me find my mommy?" he says, tearing up a little. "I don't know where she is."||
9:51 PM <Thalia|Kara> "We'll see if we can find her." Long arms? Other? That seems likely. Why did every problem she have to deal with be magic? Why couldn't she get a normal case? Kara gestures for the kid to follow after her as she keeps looking around the warehouse. "What did he do?"||
9:53 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "You promise?" he asks, looking hopeful.
9:54 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "I think he took a box and went that way," the boy says while leaning forward and pointing at one of the emergency exits.||
9:57 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Let's look around, she couldn't have gone far, right?" Kara walks to the emergency exit he pointed out, try to see if anything stood out. Maybe there could be a clue here.||
9:58 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "I don't know," the boy answers back, jumping down to follow her. "I got lost a while ago."
10:02 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The door seems to be completely normal, and the only thing off about it is that the exit sign above it is on while the main lights are on.||
10:06 PM <Thalia|Kara> "We can still look... and if you just want to leave this place, I can help with that too." And none of the cameras looked here, did they? She'll go back and look at where the box would have been taken from. Maybe there was something there.||
10:07 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "I don't know if I should leave... what if my mommy comes back after I go and she can't find me?"
10:10 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> As expected, Kara doesn't come across any of the security cameras on her way to the missing laptop's space. There's a small 'echo' of the box still there that is shown under the Sight, but not much else.||
10:14 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Well, if anyone was going to help you, it should be me. I'm a cop, y'know?" She shows the ghost her badge for a second, looking over where the box was. Damn, there was nothing here, was there? No clues of any sort.||
10:15 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The boy looks at her in wonder. "Woah, you're a cop? Can I see your gun?"||
10:18 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Detective, to be more precise, and sorry, that could be dangerous." Would be easier if the ghosts knew they were ghosts and God, why did all the kids ask that? She traces the steps of the thief back to the emergency exit. She might need to track them outside. Maybe something out there. "The gun is for serious situations only."||
10:21 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Pleeeaaase," he says, drawing it out. "Just for a second?"
10:24 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Outside, Kara sees the Nomads, a trio of vestiges who were always around the warehouse, though they were always changing in appearance. A brief experiment showed that they weren't ghosts in the traditional sense, but more of a mark on the town itself.
10:26 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> As of now, one Nomad had sunglasses, another wore a ski mask, and the third carried a keyring which it spun with its finger.
10:27 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The one in the middle wearing the ski mask nodded and spoke in a scratchy voice, almost like a record that's been played one too many times. "Detective."||
10:32 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Nomads." They didn't move very far, did they? The voice was rather creepy, but dealing with Others often ended that way. Ghosts were simple. If he sounded like a record, they were. The needle might skip a different way, but they had definite patterns. They were easy to deal with. Downside is they reminded her of real people... it was hard not to get attached. "See anyone leave with a box last night?"||
10:36 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The one on the left with sunglasses nodded. "He comes here. Often," it said, voice distorted by the static behind it. "He drove away with the box."

10:42 PM <Thalia|Kara> Kara instinctively moves her hand to the top of the kid's head to hold onto him. "It's alright." She says in a soothing manner to the kid before turning back to the Nomads. "See who it was? Sounds like an employee."||
10:45 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Yes," ski mask plainly states. At the sound of the voice, the ghost child squeezes Kara's leg even tighter.||
10:48 PM <Thalia|Kara> And they're going to want something, aren't they? She could likely narrow it down by talking to the boss. They -had- to be an Other or Practitioner and the likelihood of them being an employee was high. Especially with the information just given. "Well, thank you, then." She was going to head to the office and she could compare employees to the families in town... might help narrow it down.||
10:50 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Wait," the kid says as they leave the warehouse behind. "Where are we going? What if my mommy comes back and we aren't here and she doesn't know where I am and- and-" the child bursts into tears and starts blubbering, his words no longer intelligible.||

6:07 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "An employee?" He sighs as he goes over to a file cabinet, takes out a couple of folders and hands them to Kara. "Here's the files I have. Just give them back when you're done looking through."||
6:20 PM <Thalia|Kara> "There isn't a sign of forced entry, so that seems the most likely cause. From what I can tell, it looks like they came in the front entrance and took a side exit. Ones that wouldn't be spotted by the cameras." She debates talking about moving the cameras to better locations. "If you can afford it, might want to look at better camera coverage." Kara takes the paperwork from him. Time to look through some files.||
6:23 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Well, we can't afford it," the manager says as Kara looks through the papers. "We barely have enough money to pay the employees."
6:29 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Noah Roberts: Nothing exceptional, has a few warnings and tardies but he's earned a promotion. Used most of his sick days for the year already.
6:36 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Luke Price: A poor employee would be putting it gently. Half his page is filled with warnings given to him and times his pay was docked. He's barely arrived to work, only showing up half the time since he was hired. Unsurprisingly, he's run out of sick days.
6:37 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Elijah Young: Strong employee. No warnings, but he hasn't received any promotions yet. He's gone through only half his sick days.
6:39 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Daniel Olson: Only hired a couple weeks ago. There isn't much else in his file.||
6:52 PM <Thalia|Kara> Good places to start there. If it wasn't one of them, magic was involved and that was a whole new kettle of fish. One she would prefer not to deal with here. She just hopes this town has a normal robbery. She wonders if she could figure out a way for the warehouse to afford better cameras... maybe ask some friends or see what she can do. Maybe if they had insurance, they could get the money for the item... she'll need to think on it.
6:52 PM <Thalia|Kara> Kara takes down details of the employees, she'll need to look them up to see which one it might be. The kid ghost might be able to recognize one... then she hands back the file to the manager. Daniel and Luke were the standouts. "I take it that they all have keys?"||
6:56 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Hey, it's not like I can be here every day," the manager snaps back. "Someone has to open the doors when I get sick."||
6:58 PM <Thalia|Kara> "I'm just asking." Kara says, pretty unphased by his reaction. "If it was only one or two, that would narrow down my search. I understand why all of them would, but if one didn't for some reason, then it might eliminate them as a suspect."||
7:01 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "They all have a key," the manager says. "Now, can you get back to your investigation? That laptop has to be delivered by tomorrow."||
7:04 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Yeah, just needed to confirm." If she could get images of the four, it should be fairly easy to ask the ghost for the information. "Actually, had a few more questions. When did the laptop come in and who worked in that time?"||
7:07 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "It came in on Tuesday and I'm pretty sure Noah, Daniel and I were here."||

She asks with a smile. Kara would need to get his help, then probably see if she can dismiss him. "How long ago did you get lost?"||

8:06 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The four were all white, with Luke, Elijah, and Daniel having dark hair in contrast with Noah's blond. Luke and Daniel had thicker eyebrows, and Daniel had a large amount of acne. Noah had a blockier nose than the other three and seemed to have the meanest look. Elijah was the opposite, looking sheepish in his photo.

8:16 PM <Thalia|Kara> Not one of her predicted suspects. Then again, she was mostly going by their employee records. Then again, past behavior was the best indicator of future behavior. "How sure are you? And would you be more sure if you saw him in person?"||

8:23 PM <Thalia|Kara> Well, she should go talk to him before making an arrest. "I don't want you to say anything if it is him, just... tap me twice on the leg." They should get going. The sooner this was done, the sooner she can get to her real work of the day.||
8:32 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> They arrive at the address the manager told them. The house is pretty crummy, but it still looks livable. Noah answers the door a little bit after Kara knocks, and the kid hugs Kara's leg at the sight of him. "Who are you?" he asks.||
8:40 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Detective Kara, there was a break-in at the warehouse last night, and I was hoping I could ask you some questions." Kara pulls out her badge to show him. She manages to give him a friend smile. "May I come in?"||

8:46 PM <Thalia|Kara> Of course, that was the invitation. She takes the kid to follow her inside and Noah will show her where to sit. Of course, since she's inside, she can look for the laptop on the way there. Or the box. Either one.||

The entire front lawn is dead, the paint looks like it's older than the ghost child, and trash is sticking out all over the place.

Not only is there the smell of weed, but it's so strong she can practically taste the spoiled food that's inside. Looking down at the kid, he's scrunched up his face and pinched his nose in a futile attempt to block the smell. "Do we have to go to this one?" he asks.||

Instead, she just goes to her car... she'll have to see about getting that warrant... actually. The plain sight doctrine was a thing. Before she goes to do that, she should take a look at the windows to see if something illegal was in sight.||

If she could swing it, she'd get the laptop back to the warehouse. As long as she had the fact that it was in his residence (and she had the picture to prove it), that should be plenty of evidence. It'd be better to get this back to where it was going.||

9:40 PM <Thalia|Kara> "I need to write reports and pass on my evidence." The photos made it easy and then she could go talk to the angel, but she had something else to deal with. "Of course, we need to figure out what to do with you... how long did you think you were lost in there again? Didn't you say a 100 years or so?"||

She might feel bad afterward, but it could still work.||

Then she realizes she'll need to summon the angel and talk to it after... she needed a game plan to take on the demon and get to her evidence. Ugh, this was going to be a full day.||
6:49 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The two arrive at the warehouse and the manager gratefully takes the laptop. "Can I ask who stole it?" he asks after putting it in his office.||
6:53 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Luke, and judging by the boxes I found at his place, it wasn't the first time." Kara sighs. He gets a chance and he tosses it away. Prison was unlikely to do him any good either. "I took pictures for evidence already, but if you noticed anything else missing since he started, let us know an estimate value. Might be helpful when we go to trial."||
6:54 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> He nods. "Thanks for your help. I'll check my logs and get back to on that." He heads back into his office, closing the door behind him.||
7:00 PM <Thalia|Kara> Well, this case was pretty open and shut. They'd probably go for the plea bargain since we had all that evidence and that was one big win down. She should take care of the ghost, then she needed a quiet place to summon an angel. Damn, she's never had to deal with angel before. Kara looks around to see if the kid was around, she should at least say goodbye.||
7:02 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> He was still there, standing next to Kara and looking around at the warehouse he must've been in for years.||
7:05 PM <Thalia|Kara> She looks down to speak to him. "Thanks for all the help, and I just hope this works..." Kara kneels down to give the ghost child a hug. "If not, then I'll have to figure something else out another time."||

7:07 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Helping you move on." Maybe she'll make an excuse to check on warehouse security in a week or so. She'd tell him to be good, but she doesn't think he needs to be reminded. Kara stands up and heads back to her car. "Just stay here." She had a date with an angel.||
7:10 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The boy stands there, rocking on his feet and giving Kara a smile as she leaves.||
7:15 PM <Thalia|Kara> Hopefully it worked, but she needed to focus on her next task. Talking to the knowledge angel would need to be in an out of the way spot. No chance of innocents or anyone else walking in on this. Angels were supposedly difficult to deal with, so it should be easier if she acted in her role as a cop and she needed to focus on the demon questions.||
7:19 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Kara drives a little ways out of the town, heading into the field surrounding it.
7:22 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Usually there weren't any disturbances in the calm 'wild,' but this time there was a trail of destroyed grass.||
7:23 PM <Thalia|Kara> She should follow the trail for a bit... not too long, but she needed to make sure that someone wouldn't be spying on her. The last thing she needed was to have someone innocent find out about magic because of her.||
7:30 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> A short distance away, Kara finds some sort of ritualistic circle with metal and woven grass spattered with blood and completely devoid of any vegetation inside.||
7:34 PM <Thalia|Kara> Ugh, this is an entire new mystery, but blood is usually a bad sign. The Cultists? Maybe. This wouldn't be a bad spot to summon a demon... in fact, that is her first guess. Kara takes a look around, looking over the circle to see if anything stood out to her.||

He managed to contact a Diabolist to deal with it. She's dead and the Lord is missing, presumed dead. The bottom few levels of the basement were blocked off to me because of the lesser demon of ruin. Since demons aren't my area of expertise, I was hoping you could help me out there."||
8:04 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Humatiel doesn't reply for a while, but eventually asks, "Are you certain that it is a demon of ruin?"||
8:06 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Pretty sure. My only witness is dead, but the Diabolist seemed to think so, but..." Kara stops and thinks for a second. "If anyone would know how to deal with something from the Choir of Ruin, it would be her. If she was wrong, the counter-measures wouldn't work..."||

8:12 PM <Thalia|Kara> "How close do you need to be?" Kara asks with an eyebrow raised. She wasn't expecting this. "I currently have it sealed away until I was ready. Otherwise, I can give you the behavior I witnessed."||

Think you can make sure we can both make it through to the sealed doorway?" Angels were leagues above what she was normally dealing with. At least it didn't do the do not be afraid spiel.||

9:16 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> The angel enters once invited and heads through the house to the small library. "Whatever seal was placed on this door has been destroyed, probably from the Abyss' taint," it says, kneeling down to open the door and finally giving Kara a proper view of 'him.'
9:19 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Humatiel looked like a man with the head of an owl and was covered in black feathers. He easily opens the door, leaving it open for Kara to go through.||
9:21 PM <Thalia|Kara> Kara flinches when he says that the seal was destroyed before immediately sighing. "Alright, I guess I'm going to have to do this today." She had already escaped the demon once, she could follow the angel in. "How far in do you want to go? The demon could be anywhere."||
9:23 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Until I observe clear signs of the demon's influence," he says as they pass what looks like clear signs of the demon's influence.
9:25 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> He reaches behind the wall with a sureness that makes it seem like he's gone down the home a thousand times before, making the bookshelf swing forward and revealing a door.||
9:32 PM <Thalia|Kara> This was going to be the same shit again, wasn't it? Would it be bad luck or good luck if the demon wasn't here? It seemed like bad since that means it would be out there. Kara keeps following after the angel, just trying to get this over with.||

9:39 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Now, a thin mist of black seeps through the doorway and swirls around their feet. "Here we are," the angel says, crouching to examine the mist.

9:40 PM <Thalia|Kara> Kara backs up a bit when she sees the black mist, just trying to put herself closer to the exit. That time would be coming any moment now...||
9:41 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> He cups it up and carries it, looking to Kara. "The diabolist's information was flawed. This demon is of the first choir, Darkness."||
9:43 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Which explains why she failed..." That guess was correct, but at least she knew what she was dealing with. "Any more information, then? Or should we get out of here before discussing this more?"||
9:45 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "I have a sample that will do fine. Unless you're willing to get close enough to see the demon itself, this is the furthest we should go."||

"If the Scourge won't help, what else can I do to deal with this demon? Are there any countermeasures?"||

"Thanks you, if I have to postpone things because I do not believe I have enough help, then I will likely be calling back again." The cop takes a look around, trying to see what the angel could be referring to.||
6:14 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> It's the ghost diabolist. Katelyn. "You're back," she softly murmurs, clutching her book.||
6:23 PM <Thalia|Kara> If we had binders, she could tell us how to bind the darkness demon. "Part of the same duty, I'd say. This is Katelyn, the Diabolist the deceased Lord called in to help get rid of the demon." How the demon got down there, she'd need to find out, but she gestures to Katelyn with her off-hand. This phone call was just about over, anyway.||
6:28 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Goodbye Mrs. Neath" the voice on the phone tells her. "I wish you luck in defeating the demon."
6:31 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> Mrs. Mathis hangs up and Katelyn starts to flicker. "The ghost seems to be damaged," the angel says, eyeing the missing half of her face. It starts seeping a similar black mist to before. "Severely."||
6:33 PM <Thalia|Kara> Kara hangs up the phone and looks over the ghost. "I would expect so with everything..." She looks over the ghost... maybe she needed to restore it somehow. Katelyn's ghost likely still had some information about the demon they could use.||
6:37 PM <~Thepicheese|GM> "Demons of Darkness can cause such severe damage," the angel says, cupping Katelyn's face with one hand. She shudders and Kara can't feel her fingers or toes. "Try not to get hurt by one, Necromancer. The damage is permanent."||
6:44 PM <Thalia|Kara> Kara just nods. That was... terrifying. Then again, she knew what she was dealing with... absolute destruction given form. But every little bit of information drove that home. She had such a big threat and so little to work with. Given, she might guilt trip the Scourges and be able to get the Warden to assist since this was his property. After that, she had no idea.||

7:17 PM <Thalia|Kara> "Very." She answers. "Life and art were explicitly mentioned." The angel of creation was a lucky get, then. Good deeds were rewarded in some weird way, maybe.||
