- Legally boycotting the TV licence fee.
- 1) It's highly advisible to get rid of all TVs in your home (if you're a computer user, this shouldn't be a problem). Although TV licencing says you don't need a licence if you own a TV and it's not used for viewing TV, it's much harder for TV licencing enforcement to argue that you watch TV in secret (even if you don't) if you don't own any televisions

- 2) Declare to the TV licencing company on their site when filing your TV licence that 'no licence needed' for your property. Be aware that you must prohibit other people from watching TV on your premises as well (that includes on their own device or on one of yours), as the licence is property and not person-centric.
- 3) Computers and laptops can be considered TVs *if* they are used to watch TV online. Even if such shows are recorded...

- ...However, there are exceptions, specifically:
- "You don’t need a TV Licence to watch:
- non-BBC programmes on online catch-up services
- videos or DVDs
- clips on websites like YouTube
- closed circuit television (CCTV)"
- IE, if you own a TV and watch any TV programming, you need a licence. If you own a computer and don't watch live (EG broadcasted) TV shows OR it's a NON-BBC programme on a catch-up service (so watching BBC programmes as a catch-up are disallowed), OR it's a clip on YouTube (assuming it's a non-broadcasted TV show IE is a recorded playback), you are fine to watch it.

- Basically, to boycott the TV licence legally, you need to stop using TV in any medium, especially if it relates to BBC services.
