  1. Mousey, skittish and awkward. Penelope's most notable features are her alabaster-pale skin, icy-cold skin, extremely slow heartbeat, and lack of bleeding even when badly injured.
  2.
  3. The Raven's Teeth - Thieves' Guild Penelope is a member of.
  4.
  5. Auvric - Roguish Human Man who inducted her into The Raven's Teeth and she owes a debt to as a benefactor.
  6.
  7. Minor Spirits - Penelope is capable of conversing with and forming contracts with minor spirits, a collection of barely-sentient beings that are present nearly everywhere. Her current contract is with a fey one that's taken the form of a crow. She calls it Oscar. Her contract requires her to water any dying flowers she happens to come across in exchange for Oscar's cooperation.

  9. Penelope was born to a very large family. Her father an adventurer, her mother a retired beaurucrat. They spent the majority of their time leisurely. Her father brought back significant riches and fame to their home in the city, while her mother held things down at home with the children. Unfortunately, she eventually came to learn of her family's legacy. At the age of 15 she was told the truth about a cult that her parents were leading, and they intended to have her undergo a ritual that would forever corrupt her soul for a greater being, turning her into a monstrous creature. During the ritual, she had barely managed to stop it midway, through a bit of quick-thinking and a lot of luck. But it had still had an effect on her. She felt a connection to the dark, and a fear of what lurked within, powers she never had before could be drawn from it.
  10.
  11. Eventually she escaped from the city, hiding far and away. After a year or so she met a roguish man named Auvric who sensed something special about her. After getting to know each other, Penelope divulged her fears of her family and terrible situation. Auvric offered to induct her into a small organization he was in, her powers were well-suited for it, and their protection would do her well. She took the offer. Nowadays, she travels aimlessly. She's unsure of what it is she wants to do for the rest of her life, but knows she still has loose ends to take care of with her family. Occasionally she takes contracts from the organization when she needs to, but otherwise is just hoping for a light to banish her fears.

  13. -------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. Penelope actually doesn't have a shadow, it was taken by whatever monster was approaching her during the ritual. It's sent the shadow after her now to get back what should be rightfully its.
  16.
  17. She has 9 siblings, 5 older brothers, 1 older sister, 2 younger sisters, and 1 younger brother. One of her older brothers actually went missing, and she suspects it was some foul play by her family, perhaps he was forced to undergo a similar ritual.
  18.
  19. She's good at heart and hopes the best in people, but is well aware that the most dangerous people are the ones who's appearance doesn't immediately show their intentions.
  20.
  21. - leave out a saucer of milk, mixed with a particular number of drops of blood
  22. - leave gossip you hear tied to a tree or plant of significance
  23. - leave carved turnips in every settlement
  24.
  25. A small, slender wand about ten inches long. It has intricate grooves and etchings on its surface, and glows with a faint blue gleam. The wand has a furred grip of unicorn mane. The object itself is made from griffin bone and comes to a tapered end. Penelope uses it as a spellcasting focus.
  26.
  27. I am incredibly slow to trust. Those who seem the fairest often have the most to hide.
  28.
  29. I have a fear of the dark and what lurks in it.
  30.
  31. Hope. No matter how deep the darkness, it only makes the light within that easier to see.
  32.
  33. I'm trying to pay off an old debt I owe to a generous benefactor.
  34.
  35. Despite how much time has passed, I still think I can save my younger siblings from my family's legacy.
  36.
  37. I have a "tell" that reveals when I'm lying. It's when I carress my books.
  38.
  39. I'm inattentive when not directly spoken to, preferring to study with my books.

  41. Starting at 1st level, your existence in a twilight state between life and death makes you difficult to defeat. When damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you can make a Charisma saving throw (DC 5 + the damage taken). On a success, you instead drop to 1 hit point. You can’t use this feature if you are reduced to 0 hit points by radiant damage or by a critical hit. After the saving throw succeeds, you can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
  42.
  43. Starting at 1st level, you have darkvision with a range of 120 feet.
  44. When you reach 3rd level in this class, you learn the darkness spell, which doesn’t count against your number of sorcerer spells known. In addition, you can cast it by spending 2 sorcery points or by expending a spell slot. If you cast it with sorcery points, you can see through the darkness created by the spell.
  45.
  46. You have learned a number of spells that you can cast as rituals. These spells are written in a ritual book, which you must have in hand while casting one of them.
  47. When you choose this feat, you acquire a ritual book holding two 1st-level spells of your choice. Choose one of the following classes: bard, cleric, druid, sorcerer, warlock, or wizard. You must choose your spells from that class's spell list, and the spells you choose must have the ritual tag. The class you choose also determines your spellcasting ability for these spells: Charisma for bard, sorcerer, or warlock: Wisdom for cleric or druid: or Intelligence for wizard.
  48. If you come across a spell in written form, such as a magical spell scroll or a wizard's spellbook, you might be able to add it to your ritual book. The spell must be on the spell list for the class you chose, the spell's level can be no higher than half your level (rounded up), and it must have the ritual tag. The process of copying the spell into your ritual book takes 2 hours per level of the spell, and costs 50 gp per level. The cost represents material components you expend as you experiment with the spell to master it, as well as the fine inks you need to record it.
