  1. Good afternoon! I’m Aviva Lessard. HERE ARE TODAY’S HEADLINES: What’s the best way to expand south shore transit? The high price to see a doctor at the MUHC AND slowing traffic in the north end .
  2. 01 / LONGUEUIL TRANSIT / DEPOIS / PAK
  3. Longueuil commuters are sick and tired of getting stuck in traffic as they cross the bridges to work in Montreal. Others complain about a slow bus system -- and being packed like sardines on the metro. They want change. But as Victor Depois discovered, there’s some disagreement about just HOW that change should come.

  12. 02 / METRO INTERRUPTIONS / FORTUGNO / VO
  13. If you think you spend a lot of time waiting for the metro to come – you’re right. Metro passengers faced a record number of delays and interruptions last year. There were more than twelve hundred incidents reported. That’s more than three a day. And the average delay was longer than five minutes. But the transit corporation claims it isn’t their fault. They say nearly half the delays were caused by commuters themselves. That includes some passengers dropping items onto the tracks - and others blocking metro doors from closing.

  16. 03 / HOSPITAL PARKING / ZHOLKEVSKA / PAK
  17. People have been complaining about the cost of parking at the MUHC superhospital ever since it opened.
  18. The complaints were so loud that the administration promised to lower prices.
  19. But as Viktoriia Zholkevska discovered, little has changed -- and the complaints remain.

  27. 04 / PLATEAU PARKING / LESSARD / VO
  28. The Plateau is ignoring complaints from homeowners in the borough. It’s going ahead with a plan to ban parking in alleys. A new bylaw prevents any new parking spaces from being created in alleys, or in backyards entering onto alleys. Owners have complained that the borough shouldn’t regulate what they can do with their land. Many say they’re worried it will lower their property values. But the borough says they want to change the alleys into walkways and places where children can play. Existing parking spots aren’t affected by the new by-law.
  29. 05 / AHUNTSIC SPEED LIMIT / MARTEL-DESJARDINS / PAK
  30. Ahuntsic-Cartierville recently reduced the speed limit by 10 kilometers an hour on most streets. The aim is to improve safety in the borough. But when Alexia Martel visited the area, she discovered a lot of confusion about the new rules -- And a lot of doubts that anything will change.
