ohsoo ! - something that everyone called her, even her parents call her this. soori tends to be clumsy, and “oh, soo!” would come out of people’s mouth. she doesn’t really like it though, she’s a bit insecure on her clumsy tendencies and doesn’t appreciate it when someone points that out.
sorry ! - in america, many people called her this because of her clumsiness. she would often say "sorry" repeatedly, feeling bad for whatever mistakes she's done. also, people would make fun of her name saying, "oh sorry!" she hated it but, you can't really do anything about it.

backstory: born in the suburbs of new york, soori enjoyed a calm lifestyle, one where she had everything she needed but really didn't care for what she wanted. her home was surrounded by richer people, mainly white, and they would practically exclude her and her family from the community gatherings. she would often play with her neighbors, but their parents would take them back inside, normally leaving soori alone. but she didn't mind, she understood who she was and accepted that.
soori really never got accepted anywhere, the korean people she knew weren't very accepting of her, and neither were the chinese. she was left alone by herself, keeping feelings to herself. her korean mom and chinese dad were often criticized, and she hated the thought of them being separated by countries. soori tried her best to learn both languages, as they enforced her to learn it, and successfully so.
at least, that was until the junior year of high school . she moved to a more 'city' area, where violence was more apparent but that also gave her a platform to learn how to protect herself. she also gained recognition as one of the 'top students' in her school, something soori's parents bragged about everywhere they went. but that pride was also balanced out with a loss, her mom was pregnant.
although that wasn't a bad thing, her workplace didn't have a thing called maternity leave and was fired on the spot. she was the money maker of the family, actively working as a construction manager. soori's dad tried to keep up with the family, but their last resort was a loan. her mom was already older than the expected age of pregnancy and they had bills to pay. knowing their money wasn't enough, they got a loan but that came with another cost. how were they going to pay it off?
soori didn't know that this was all going on, but she was just happy she would get a sibling. living her life like this with no friends, only acquaintances, was just miserable to her and she wanted a sibling to tend to. she was also blinded to the fact that her mom has become increasingly tired, stressed out, and just plain dead. five months into the pregnancy, her soon to be brother died.
all the money that they saved, the loan that they had, and the joy of a new baby boy disappeared in seconds. the medical bills were too expensive and even if soori's dad worked his ass off, the money would never equal up.
knowing that the loan sharks would get them soon, her parents decided for soori to be sent to china with their family. it was no longer safe for soori to live in where she called home. there, she finished her last year in high school and took a year off to apply to college because she knew her money wasn't going to cut it. she worked multiple jobs at once, along with contributing to her dad's side of the family. she also studied to get into the college she wanted, korea university.
after her year of hard work payed off, she got accepted and soon moved to korea. it was a different place, having to live with two other roommates in order to keep money balanced. soori worked hard in school and would often fall asleep on the job, trying to memorize laws and policies in order to become what she wanted. but she wanted to help her family, keep up with school, and pay for her own bills, but that could only be solved illegally. soori had to join a gang to stay alive, even if it does mean danger.

fact file: soori is very clumsy, often messing things up without her meaning to, causing others to get easily mad at her. because of this, she has a shattered self esteem, everyone scolding her because of her acts. she knows what she's doing but it always goes wrong with simple mistakes, often making her freak out. this could be for tests, such as studying the wrong page, or at work, putting the wrong price tag on a product.
but she is pretty smart, excelling in the front of her class despite her rather stupid ways. she makes sure not to mess up at university and stay at the top to make her parents satisfied.
