Turkish gendarmerie forces discovered weapons and ammunition after pursuing a truck bound for Syria and belongs to the Humanitarian Aid Foundation (İHH) in the southern province of Hatay on Wednesday.
After obtaining a tipoff, Turkish gendarmerie forces stopped a truck belongs to İHH on a road between Kırıkhan and Reyhanlı near the Syrian border.

Signifcant amount of ammunition and weapons have been discovered, the Radikal daily reported.

The recent seizure of weapons came as the Turkish security forces clamp down on any arms shipment through its borders to Syria after Turkey has faced mounting international criticism for being soft to radical groups crossing its porous borders.

Firmly rejecting any support to Qaeda-linked groups, Ankara has now bolstered military presence across a 911-kilometer-long (566-mile) border with Syria given the steady rise of radical groups among the Syrian opposition forces in northern Syria.
