  1. "But why must we leave dad?" asked the 21 year old Superopa. Luca ignored the question for the third time and continued packing up the last of the boxes. One could tell from his tensed face, one that wouldn't even blink when faced with a gun, that whatever the fuck was happening, was something far more fucked up than anything that had happened before.
  2.
  3. "Don't sweat it kiddo, just do as you're told" said the good ol' uncle Carmelo, throwing a pair of clothes towards Superopa, and gesturing him to pack it up in one of the boxes.
  4.
  5. "But what about the empire we built? What about the SCO clan?!" shouted Superopa. The mere thought of leaving behind something that took them ages to built was heartbreaking for him.
  6.
  7. Luca froze for a moment, and fixed his gaze on Superopa, and then slowly stood up to walk upto their large french window.
  8.
  9. "Superopa.." he addressed Superopa by his nick name. "Nothing lasts forever, and change is inevitable." said Luca, in a surprisingly gentle and calm manner. "Fret not, our empire will not die... not while I am alive. This area is just... not as accommodating as it once was." A faint buzz of police sirens added the dimension of time to the static effect that the tense atmosphere had created. One could now count seconds using a reference less erratic than their pounding heartbeats.
  10.
  11. "We must shift our base of operations if we need to survive. Evolution, son... we must adapt to survive. We must... change, to live."
  12.
  13. Evolution it was, as the faint police sirens slowly evolved into the loud cacophony of multiple police sirens. Luca could hear music, even in this. He could hear the cries of all the people that had died infront of his eyes in this very music.
  14.
  15. The stench of death had now flooded the room.
  16.
  17. "This empire we created... cannot sustain unless we adapt. This asks for alot of sacrifice and alot of hard decisions, but if you look hard enough... there are no decisions. Our choice is simple. We must leave, or we must die trying to protect what we once had. The police have us by the throat, the CGG and TB mafias have already fallen" Luca's usually cold eyes were now moist, and one could see the red and blue lights reflecting off them.
  18.
  19. Carmelo had left the last box unpacked, he knew he couldn't finish it in time. He was already in his overcoat, with a slight imperfection in it's perfect fall, located just off his waist.
  20.
  21. "THIS IS NO TIME FOR LECTURED Luca, WE MUST MOVE! NOW!" he barked. Superopa was still listening to his dad, gazing outside the window... in a fashion similar to his dad's.
  22.
  23. Loud gunfire and the buzz of a police helicopter could be heard outside, they were running out of time.
  24.
  25. "But where will we go? Where will we live?"
  26.
  27. Carmelo pulled out the map and pointed towards San Andreas, in a hurried and impatient way. "See this dot? We're going there, now get in the fucking car! BOTH OF YOU!"
  28.
  29. Luca tugged on a string and the curtains came falling down, as the pitiful sight of everything he once had being destroyed was slowly shrouded by the cloth, like the white cloth that hide the remains of a dead man from the ones that once loved him.
  30.
  31. Footsteps could be heard coming from the stairs. Superopa leaped for the revolver, but Luca and Carmelo simple stood there motionless.
  32.
  33. The door opened to reveal two men, both really close friends of the Scorpion family.
  34.
  35. "The cars are ready, waiting on you Luca" said Keksii. "..and make it quick... I am sure you can see the.. *ahem* circumstances that surround us..." added Sleny.
  36.
  37. "Are the others ready?" asked Carmelo. "Biro, Saab and Xeno are waiting downstairs in the-"
  38.
  39. Sleny was interrupted by a loud crash. The buzzing of the police chopper could no longer be heard, but the gunfire was getting louder.
  40.
  41. "Well then, tell our men to fall back. It is time." said Carmelo, as he put on his sunglasses.
  42.
  43. Five minutes later, the gunfire had completely stopped. Three cars made their way through a secret underground tunnel that had been made years ago for this very day... who thought it will ever be used.
  44.
  45. "Are all my men safe?" Luca spoke into the radio. "Yes sir, we are safe and sound. We will stay under the radar and join you when we can. Good luck, sir." was the answer. Luca looked at Carmelo and nodded. Carmelo understood the message and inserted a key into a remote he had hidden in his long coat. A loud explosion could be heard at a distance. All evidence, and all of Superopa's childhood memories were now wiped out.
  46.
  47. Superopa woke up in the morning to find himself is a small rented apartment in the heart of Los Santos. He could hear the conversation taking place on the table across the room.
  48.
  49. "Gratz Carmelo, you are now one of us" congratulated Xeno. Luca was opening a bottle of champagne and proceeded to pour some out for the trio. "So, as a Cobra, you now enjoy equal rights as me and Xeno." commented Luca "Just expect me to share your awful choice in music." he added. Carmelo gave a slight smirk as he drank the bitter-sweet drink. "So, what now?" he asked.
  50.
  51. "Well, our contact here has ditched us, we lost most of our money and identities with that explosion, so... the things in this apartment are pretty much all that we have." said Xeno. pouring champagne into the now empty glasses.
  52.
  53. "Atleast we are still alive..." said Luca. "To life!" exclaimed Carmelo as he lifted his glass into the air to propose a toast. "To life!" followed the others, as their glasses clanged.
  54.
  55. There was a knock on the door, and Carmelo proceeded to open it up. It was a very joyful feeling to be able to open a door without fear of cops or other enemies. Their identities had literally been white washed, they were nothing but innocent civilians now.
  56.
  57. Sleny and Biro entered the room, with brown grocery bags in their hands. "4 DOLLARS FOR A FUCKING PACK OF MUSHROOMS? WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO!" yelled Biro. "Cool down brother, it has always been 4 dollars" assured Carmelo, the only one out of the people in the room that had actually gone to buy vegetables atleast once in his life.
  58.
  59. "Dad, what are we planning to do now?" asked Saab from inside the bathroom. He was Luca's eldest son.
  60.
  61. "Hmm, well, you know I would not be able to live with myself if we have to turn into normal civilians now, and we can't go big yet because we have to lie under the radar..." was the reply.
  62.
  63. "You mean some sort of a gang?" asked Keksii.
  64.
  65. "A gang? You out of your mind Luca?" complained Carmelo. "You want me to do that filthy stuff they show on TV? No thanks"
  66.
  67. "That is really not a bad idea" commented Xeno. "We had some fun times as children in a gang, before we made SCO. Besides, it is only temporary, until we can set up our mafia again."
  68.
  69. "A gang won't last." said a man from outside the open door.
  70.
  71. "Come in Playle, welcome to my... humble abode" said Xeno as he rose to greet the stranger.
  72.
  73. "Meet my cousin Playle, he lives here in Los Santos, and he can help us get around."
  74.
  75. "Fine." said Carmelo as he gestured at Luca to continue.
  76.
  77. "I never used the word gang, you make it sound to low. We need some sort of foundation in this city, and we just lack the resources to go big. I am simply saying that we must think smaller and gain some reconnaissance first." said Luca, slightly discouraged by Playle's words.
  78.
  79. "Fine, if we are making a gang, I am laying down some pretty clear rules. I don't want to be like those unorganized dogs they show on TV, going all 'Hey blud nigggaz whats deh' shizz in dat' heat' and shit."
  80.
  81. Superopa smiled himself back to sleep. The Scorpions were back in business.
