  1. good morning all,
  2.
  3. i've been working most of the day with brian smith, one of our computing support people. he now has the quartus license issue taken care of. all of the machines, in all the labs should now be able to access a current license. through magic and incantations...and a couple of small animals, he finally convinced win 7 to look in the license directory for the license.
  4.
  5. on the start menu, go to altera/quartus then select the 64 bit version...all should be good.
  6.
  7. the usb programmer side, has been a bit more of a challenge...we've been arguing with windows 7 most of the day. brian writes a script that should be able to update all the machines and win 7 says nope, try again. he tries again and the response is, sorry, not yet. so, he's coming in this week-end, armed with sword and lance, to do battle.
  8.
  9. at the moment, we have manually beaten 5 machines into submission and forced them to recognize the quartus usb-programmer. these machines are 137pc20, 22, 23, 24, and 25. then are right in front of the ee stores side of the lab. look for the numbers on the top of the pc.
  10.
  11. all should be good by monday...
  12.
  13. thanks brian.
  14.
  15. cheers,
  16. jkp
