Assignment details:



Find a local environmental issue, either from the oxford or Ohio area, or from the area you call home. Examples include construction projects in environmentally sensitive areas, mining or gas drilling, logging, or specific examples of industrial pollution.



The assignment will be 600 words (+ or – 50 words), not including title and bibliography.



This essay should include:

• An introduction paragraph with a brief summary of the issue, describing the environmental damage, and who is responsible

• Several paragraphs explaining the pros and a paragraph for the cons . Explain both sides of the issue. What are the environmental costs and consequences, and what are the economic benefits and reasons why this damage is being done?

• A closing paragraph with a critical analysis explaining your view.



Include citations and a bibliography with at least 4 sources. Cite all sources used in your paper, including websites, news articles, books, and other sources. For citations, use the (author, date) format. For the bibliography use APA bibliography format. You do not need to include a separate title page or abstract.



For example, if you cite a newspaper article in the essay you would include the last name of the main author, followed by the year, in parenthesis, like this: (Collins, 2011).
