In the beginning they hated each other because they both rivalled one another. So Lei invited her crush to go adventuring, they became friends and tried new things together from there. Lei got jealous one time where he was with another girl, she ran out crying into the rain and he ran after her. After a heated argument he confesses his liking. They share their first kiss. From then on he got really protective over her. He's only had eyes for her and only her no one else.
