The usergroup Neko has opened up a new recruitment thread after the leadership has changed within the group. Interestingly enough, [@46315] had been the leader of Neko for around a year after which [@96557] then became the new leader for the past half a year until the leadership was handed back to [@46315]. He is now working on doing changes to the group and its memberbase to improve the group quality and its activity. Neko was founded in July 2015 and has been owned by [@35757] ever since. The group is focused on the discussion of general lounging, anime, and cats. While the group does have a lot of anime fans, the group itself isn't an anime group. If you find the group interesting be sure to check the recruitment thread out and apply!

In this thread the community is discussing about the error message that pops up after you try to edit your older threads. While many of you have noticed this and know what's the idea behind this, there are many of those who aren't aware of it yet and find it confusing. The said update has been up for months and it basically prevents users to edit their old threads they haven't touched for longer period of time. Basically, after it's been over month and a half since the last time you edited your thread, you cannot edit it later on anymore either. So if you know you have a thread you might need to edit later on and you want to prevent it from getting locked from editing, you should keep the thread updated more often.

The picture was made to show appreciation to all the great things that he has done since he registered here on May 2012. He was first promoted to Support on September 2012, and that was over four and a half years ago! During his time here he has earned his way up to Semi-Administrator with nearly 53,000 handled reports and over 23,000 banned rule-breakers! Not only has he played a huge role in keeping the forum clean but he has also been the leader of Writers for three years, thanks to him the community has had weekly news for their enjoyment. Both sides of the US congress decided on repealing the affordable care act; Barack Obama's health care bill that was enacted on March 23, 2010. The purpose of the bill was to lower costs of medical practices and improve the accessibility of medication. It has not been determined if it will ever be replaced with another solution. Although, Americans from both republican and democratic parties have gathered in conferences and rallies to protest against the demise of the act. The repeal is estimated to leave nearly 20 million people uninsured. Many people have stated that they would not be alive right now if it weren't for obamacare helping them out.

A fatal prison riot in Brazil left 27 people dead this Saturday. It seems that there is a problem within the prisons due to gang violence. It was reported that 140 people have died since the year started from gang conflict over turf between Primeiro Comando da Capital,  and the Rio de Janeiro-based Comando Vermelho that has been rampant in the Sao Paulo prisons. Justice Minister Alexandre de Moraes promised to increase security support for Rio Grande do Norte state to prevent future prison riots.

For the first time since September, SpaceX has finally returned to space flight. On Saturday, a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 10 communications satellites took to the skies, bringing SpaceX back into the business of launching space satellites. However, financial details released this week has concealed the successful flight, which has raised concerns over the viability of long-term plans at SpaceX.

Back in September, SpaceX was met by failure as their original Falcon 9 caught fire and exploded at launch in Florida, which destroyed the rocket and an Israeli Satellite that Facebook leased to enlarge their global internet services. Until Satuday, SpaceX's rockets had been left grounded since September. After further investigation of the cause of the explosion, it was found that a helium vessel had overheated, leading the second stage liquid hydrogen tank to explode.

After four months, the Federal Aviation Administration, the regulator of commercial space launches, accepted SpaceX's investigation reports on the causes of the explosions. From acceptance, SpaceX was given a launch license, which paved the way for Saturday's successful launch. Also, SpaceX had altered their rocket fueling procedures to prevent the helium from overcooling, which was the cause of failure of the last rocket.

We are all glad to see SpaceX back in space and we wish them the best in years to come.

Despite the rest of the U.S. experiencing similar conditions, the Northeast has seen exceptional changes in its climate. Along with places such as the Midwest, New England is seeing its winters linger away as temperatures rise at unusual rates. However, that's only one part of the story as a new study published by the University of Massachusetts Amherst, says that the Northeastern part of the U.S. will experience warmer temperatures quicker than the rest of the world. Raymond Bradley, co-author of the study said, “I tell my students that they’re going to be able to tell their children, ‘I remember when it used to snow in Boston.”

The study was published on January 11th in PLOS ONE, an open-access online resource. Furthermore in the study, it states that the Northeast will achieve the Paris Agreement's global warming threshold 20 years before any other place in the world. The idea of the Paris Agreement was to limit the escalation in global temperatures to just two degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit). Since 1880, the average global temperature has risen just one degree, however about two-thirds of that has occurred since 1975. If that two-degree mark is met, then the world will face a point of no return from catastrophic effects of global warming.

Bradley along with co-author, Dr. Ambarish Karamalker, predict that the Northeast will warm three degrees Celsius when the rest of the world even approaches the two-degree mark. “The 2 C number is a global average, and many regions will warm more, and warm more rapidly, than the earth as a whole,” said Bradley. Following their report, worse case scenarios found that nearly thirty percent of Boston could be submerged in water by the end of the 21st century.

With global warming continuing to plague the world, we must find solutions and alternatives to preserve our world's environment to avoid a catastrophic future.

Sea of Thieves has been getting some moderate attention lately. Bit by bit, Rare has been teasing some features and mechanics of the ongoing development of the game over the past few months. In this week, we get a taste of the co-op aspect of Sea of Thieves. The lead designers Shelley and Andrew Preston discuss the roles that players will assume when navigating their ships through the open world of sea and land.

The video shows a feature where players are provided a map that pinpoints buried treasure on a specific island. You and your group of pirates will navigate your ship through the open sea. Once you arrive at the island, you'll anchor down and swim to the land. You and your team of pirates will coordinate together to locate where the treasure was buried. Once found, you collectively dig up the treasure. The more people contributing in digging, the faster the treasure will be dug out. One of your crew mates will then pick up the treasure and sail out to the nearest cove to trade it in for currency. Be careful, however, as other players can intercept your treasure and redeem it for themselves. This adds an interesting aspect of the multiplayer experience which shows the risks involved in earning big rewards. Kind of like looting weapons in the Dark Zone in the Divison.

The game is currently in early access only playable to those who are extremely fortunate enough to get a chance. But the idea of having roles when navigating on a ship with your crew, and the collaborative effort to succeed together really adds in to the cooperative nature of the game. It just encourages players to team up and take on this open world together rather than venturing out alone.

In CES 2017, Razer has shown off some great tech and prototype products that will be very likely to make future appearances. Products like the Project Arianna, which is a smart projector that provides a more immersive gaming experience. The primary steal of the show, the Project Valerie, is a sleek looking triple-screen laptop. Although this may just be a prototype, who knows. Products like this could either be a consumer hit, or could be scrapped and would never see the light of day. To some people, they didn't seem too keen on this idea and managed to steal two of these prototypes right from Razer's booth.

Razer has officially confirmed that a thief or thieves, did in fact steal two of these triple-monitor laptops and are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Razer's CEO Min-Liang Tan confirmed of the theft on Facbook in which he goes on with the statement: "We treat theft/larceny, and if relevant to this case, industrial espionage, very seriously – it is cheating, and cheating doesn’t sit well with us. Penalties for such crimes are grievous and anyone who would do this clearly isn’t very smart. If you were at the show and/or if you can provide us any information, please do reach out to us at legal@razerzone.com—all information provided will be kept in the strictest of confidence."

The prototype was taken from the Razer press room at approximately 4pm on Sunday January 8, 2017. As stated, a $25,000 reward is being offered leading to the information and arrest of a suspect, which on its own is a reward far greater to the value of the laptop itself. The motives of the thieves are unknown. To steal an unfinished product in a prototype state is pointless as it was intended for demonstration purposes. Wherever they are and whatever they're doing with this product, I hope the effort they went through was worth it.

Earlier this year we got a good look at the on ground gameplay mechanics of Mass Effect Andromeda. Bioware now brings us with a new trailer showcasing the Tempest, the central ship of the game just like the Normandy in the Mass Effect trilogy. The Tempest does provide a significant overhaul compared to the Normandy. With a much larger scale of things to do and rooms to visit. Now with a state-of-the-art crew quarters, research facilities, tech labs, bio labs, and the Pathfinder's cabin which looks a look cooler than what Commander Shephard had on the Normandy.

You can also go down into the cargo hold which houses the Nomad. A beefed out terrain explorer allowing players to touch down on a planet and cruise the land with interchangable four-wheel or six-wheel drive. It also features a rear-fuel boost system allowing for turbo boosts and vertical thrusters for making jumps. Paint jobs are also included allowing you to customize the look and feel of your Nomad, which shows how much attention is put into this particular gameplay feature. It just comes to show that the Nomad will most likely play a significant impact on the gameplay.

Mass Effect: Andromeda releases March 21 in North America, and March 23 in Europe.
