  1. 2019-03-14 Jewelry Store (heist)
  2. Sydney, Dragan, Hoxton, Wolf, Dallas
  3.
  4. [16:17:38] <Sydney> *After Dragan and Dallas return from the shooting range, Sydney pulls Dragan aside.* So now that you've got a weapon sorted, we gotta get your mask sorted out. *She beckons him to follow her to her workshop in the garage.*
  5. [16:19:00] <Sydney> *It's a disorganized mess, per usual, but on the table are a couple of smiling, clown-like masks. All of them are white and unpainted.*
  6. [16:21:39] <Sydney> I got a few premade ones I been working on, in case someone were to suddenly join, cough cough. *She doesn't actually cough, she says the word.* But what kinda mask you lookin for?
  7. [16:23:58] <Dragan> I'm not picky *He walks over to the masks to get a better look* Anything that gets the job done.
  8. [16:28:31] <Sydney> *Sydney pauses, momentarily unable to understand how someone would not care about their mask.* Er...gotcha. I'll use my best judgement then. *She deliberates for a few moments, eventually selecting a mask with furrowed, arched brows, a polygonal nose, and a thin smile that runs from ear to ear.* This one do?
  9. [16:34:12] <Dragan> *Dragan nods, he takes the mask for a moment to look at it, then hands it back to Sydney* Yeah, this one works.
  10. [16:34:39] <Sydney> Guessin' you don't care about the paint job either?
  11. [16:38:35] <Dragan> *Dragan pauses for a moment* Hm, how about uh... red and blue?
  12. [16:39:26] <Dragan> ((btw whenever dragan says "uh" its him pausing to translate not like a hesitant thing if that makes sense :/))
  13. [16:41:00] <Sydney> *Sydney smiles.* Like the Croatian flag, maybe? It'd match me and Dallas'. *She's done her research, anticipating making his mask.*
  14. [16:50:57] <Dragan> *Dragan likes the idea of people knowing where he's from, knowing that he's not just some American street thug. He smiles* Yeah.. I like that.
  15. [16:55:08] <Sydney> Alrighty! I'll get to work. *She smiles, adding,* Welcome to the crew, by the way. Lookin' forward to seeing ya in action.
  16.
  17. [18:01:16] <Sydney> ((let's get rambling :D))
  18. [18:01:39] <Dallas> ((Could someone summarize the plan? Everybody knows their role?))
  19. [18:03:23] <Sydney> ((Use an ECM, storm the shop and get everybody down. Sydney and Hoxton take the back, everyone else is on crowd control. We convince the manager to unlock the cases without setting off the alarm, and we grab what we can. Bain sets up a trafficky thing so that cop response will be impaired))
  20. [18:06:17] <Dallas> *Excellent plan! Anybody got anything they need to do before leaving? Else we're going straight to the jewelry store.*
  21. [18:08:11] <Hoxton> *Oh how does it look on the traffic jam thing? Bain greenlit it?*
  22. [18:11:56] <Dallas> *It's all been arranged. Timing's crucial, but once sprung, should cause a jam all the way down the street the store's on, preventing a frontal assault. Hopefully it'll delay the cops just long enough for them to make a clean getaway from the back.*
  23. [18:15:57] <Dallas> *Anything else?*
  24. [18:16:53] <Hoxton> *Other than that, Hox readies up with his usual gear. The two guns, the knife as well this time. He keeps the remi in the getaway van. SHouldnt be necessary in this tight shop. He's also donning his ballistic vest. Cant be too sure.*
  25. [18:18:32] <Sydney> *Sydney's wearing her ballistic vest as well, bringing her 5/7 AP and her Cobra submachine gun. Brenda's along for the ride, but she's staying in the car. As always, she's got her butterfly knife on her.*
  26. [18:19:19] <Wolf> *Wolf's got a ballistic vest, a taurus judge (silenced, just in case). Rather light.*
  27. [18:21:18] <Dallas> *Morning traffic's just starting to taper off when Twitch drives the gang down to Foggy Bottom. He first makes a cursory pass in front of the store, says there's a couple people in there. Where do they wanna be let off? Back alley? Down the street?*
  28. [18:21:39] <Dallas> *Maybe not just. MORNING TRAFFIC HAS TAPERED OFF--*
  29. [18:22:45] <Sydney> ((I vote back alley))
  30. [18:22:56] <Dragan> *Dragan's also got a ballistic vest on, other than that he just has the guns that Dallas gave him*
  31. [18:24:08] <Hoxton> The less wankas see us struttin down the street, the better. Why not get the getaway in place before we go in? Back alley sounds good.
  32. [18:24:19] <Sydney> *Sydney concurs.*
  33. [18:24:23] <Dallas> *I actually don't know what kind of shared guns the crew keep around, but it's probably taken from the extensive pool Chains left behind when he went off on vacation with his girlfriend in Honolulu. So a number of very large guns, along with some more reasonable sidearms.*
  34. [18:26:49] <Dallas> *Twitch swings the van around the block and squeezes into an alley, backpedaling in. There's a fence here--the one with the rusted metal gate, but pushed up to the fence is a dumpster. Could try and get the gate open, or hop the fence.*
  35. [18:27:44] <Wolf> *Wolf sizes it up, looking back at the others.* .. Anyone got a lockpick?
  36. [18:28:03] <Hoxton> Sure hope that guard twat's not gonna play a hero. Well, he's in for a fuckin surprise. *Hox looks outright eager to go. A proper job after the deal with the russians and Vlad's questionable nightclub escapade.*
  37. [18:28:09] <Dallas> *Hoxton, y'might remember this one. It's not locked, and you could jimmy it up from this side, but it's nasty.*
  38. [18:30:11] <Hoxton> Lemme have a look. *Hox gets off the van, looking around. If the coast is clear, he doesnt don his mask yet. Better field of vision that way. He approaches the gate.*
  39. [18:30:28] <Hoxton> *So the gate is unlocked but can only be reached from the other side?*
  40. [18:30:28] <Sydney> *Sydney's last out of the car, having made sure Brenda is in a good position where she can easily be grabbed if needed. She looks at the fence.* I can get over it, but it's gonna have to come down unless we feel like throwing all the bags over it.
  41. [18:31:03] <Dallas> *The gate has a rusted (and possibly noisy) latch that opens from the other side, but can be jimmied if you have the right tool for it. Which you probably do. The noise, however...*
  42. [18:33:03] <Hoxton> Nah, I got it. I can get it open but shite's gonna be noisy. And watch that back exit. Cam's up there. *He masks up, and goes to carefully jimmy (:D) up the gate.*
  43. [18:33:25] <Dallas> *RIGHT ON, MATE. Roll 1d6.*
  44. [18:33:52] <Dallas> *Are you guys all in thick vests?*
  45. [18:33:53] <Hoxton> !roll 1d6
  46. [18:33:53] <RNGesus> Hoxton rolls the 1d6 and gets: 1 [1]
  47. [18:33:57] <Hoxton> ((BI))
  48. [18:34:11] <Sydney> ((Sydney's in her light vest))
  49. [18:34:59] <Dallas> *The latch makes a loud, painful creaking sound, then slips out of the jim and clangs back down. The sound echoes.*
  50. [18:35:58] <Dallas> *It's a quiet neighborhood, but there's no way anybody's gonna come out at a noise like that, right?*
  51. [18:36:28] <Hoxton> *Hox curses as he fumbles the lock. Must have been way more rusted than he anticipated.* Fucking....sorry lads! *he cringes behind his mask.*
  52. [18:36:41] <Sydney> *Sydney bites back a snarky comment.*
  53. [18:36:50] <Dallas> *Try again? Probably dislodged some of that rust.*
  54. [18:37:28] <Wolf> *He's definitely not raised his gun and waiting for nearby movement.*
  55. [18:38:11] <Sydney> *Sydney rolls her eyes, tells Hox to stand aside, and kicks the gate with her heavy combat boots.*
  56. [18:41:00] <Dallas> *No need to roll--the gate cedes under the force of the kick and swings open with a massive rattle, bashing against the wall. They're through. From here, they can see the back windows looking into the manager's office, and then the back door opens and a uniformed GenSec guard looks out, hand on his sidearm.*
  57. [18:41:23] <Dallas> *There is a camera over his head, mounted up over the door.*
  58. [18:42:45] <Hoxton> *Hox curses at the massive rattle. He walks in, hand on his sidearms and then notices the guard stepping out. He frantically reaches for his ECM he brought and activates it.*
  59. [18:43:27] <Wolf> Shit-
  60. [18:43:47] <Sydney> *Sydney had taken a step back once she kicked the door open, and doesn't have her gun out.*
  61. [18:45:11] <Dallas> *The guard's holding the door open, not wanting it to swing shut on him so he'd have to circle around. He's not wearing a jacket. He looks around...*
  62. [18:45:12] <Dallas> !roll 1d6
  63. [18:45:13] <RNGesus> Dallas rolls the 1d6 and gets: 5 [5]
  64. [18:45:28] <Dallas> *--and goes still in surprise as he sees them.*
  65. [18:46:16] <Hoxton> *Hox slips the ECM into his jacket pocked and draws both his guns, aiming it at the man.* Better fucking stay down.
  66. [18:47:30] <Dallas> *NOPE. He's drawing his gun.*
  67. [18:48:39] <Wolf> *Wolf points his gun, but doesn't fire, doesn't speak.*
  68. [18:49:32] <Dragan> *Dragan draws his gun, and points it at the guard*
  69. [18:49:43] <Hoxton> Stay the fook down. You're outgunned, fella. Dont be an idiot.
  70. [18:50:17] <Sydney> *Sydney manages to get her silenced 5/7 unholstered, and aims it at the guard. If his gun swings up, she's firing.*
  71. [18:51:40] <Dallas> *The guard grabs for his radio.* I got a situation over here-- *No response, of course, and he hits the button repeatedly before he realizes the line's dead.* ... shit. *He slowly lets his gun slip back into the holster, holds his hands up.*
  72. [18:54:08] <Hoxton> *Hox briskly walks up to the guard. Voice hard and keeping a close eye on his hands.* Much better. Hands off that radio or there's gonna be lead. *is the door still open?* Dont move, ya twat. *he's ready to sprint forwards.*
  73. [18:54:55] <Sydney> *Sydney's also ready to sprint. She's slightly disappointed the guard wasn't a fuckwit, but only slightly.*
  74. [18:55:00] <Dallas> *The door's swinging shut. Make a grab for it! 1d6.*
  75. [18:55:04] <Dallas> *You can both roll.*
  76. [18:55:26] <Hoxton> !roll 1d6
  77. [18:55:26] <RNGesus> Hoxton rolls the 1d6 and gets: 6 [6]
  78. [18:56:30] <Sydney> !roll 1d6
  79. [18:56:30] <RNGesus> Sydney rolls the 1d6 and gets: 5 [5]
  80. [18:58:52] <Dallas> *Like motherfucking lightning, both heisters make it to the door in time to stop it swinging shut. The guard's backed up, away from them. Jammer's still going, so the camera's blind. Hallway here, with a narrow view into the front of the store, where about half a dozen people are milling around. The clerk's there, the one who showed Syd and Wolf those rose gold rings. Door to the manager's office is here, standing open.*
  81. [18:59:35] <Sydney> *Sydney hisses,* Someone needs to circle round the front, make sure no one gets out that way.
  82. [19:00:51] <Dallas> *Dallas nods over to Dragan and Wolf.*
  83. [19:02:32] <Hoxton> Dallas, Dragan and Wol. Ya two go round front? But firstly. *he goes to disarm the guard and take his radio.* In ya go. If ya scream, you'll get a new hole. *He eyes the cam.* Let's get the cams sorted before jammer's runnin out!
  84. [19:03:06] <Wolf> Gotcha.
  85. [19:03:20] <Hoxton> *He is pressing one of the guns onto the guards neck, ushering him forward. He wants to shove him somewhere out of sight and ziptie his hands.*
  86. [19:03:35] <Dragan> *Dragan nods to Dallas and Hoxton*
  87. [19:03:43] <Sydney> *Sydney waits for the others to get into position before moving herself.*
  88. [19:03:45] <Dallas> *There's a visible cable running out from the camera to the wall mount.*
  89. [19:05:44] <Hoxton> *Is it low enough to be cut?*
  90. [19:05:53] <Dallas> *YOU TALL ENOUGH, SHORTY?*
  91. [19:05:59] <Hoxton> ((>8C))
  92. [19:06:12] <Hoxton> *IS HOX HIGH ENOUGH TO CUT IT*
  93. [19:06:17] <Dallas> *But yes, it's mounted low enough to reach.*
  94. [19:06:20] <Hoxton> *TALL. OUPS.*
  95. [19:07:16] <Hoxton> Just in bloody case...*He pockets one gun and reaches for his curved knive, deftly slicing at the cable.*
  96. [19:07:32] <Dallas> *Dallas leads the way out of the alley to the front of the building. Peeps out, waits out a couple cars. Then nods to Dragan.* How about you take point? *Five people in there right now, clerk included.*
  97. [19:09:26] <Dallas> *The blade slices through the cable almost too easily, leaving the camera blind. Could stash the guard in the break room cubby, or maybe the unisex bathroom. Or the little conference room on the other side. Or you could charge straight into the manager's office.*
  98. [19:09:56] <Sydney> *Sydney's planning on charging to the manager's office as soon as everyone's in position.*
  99. [19:11:07] <Hoxton> *What is nearest from their entry point?* Lemme get that fella outta the way. Then we'll say hello the manager.
  100. [19:12:10] <Dallas> *Bathroom's closest. It's just a small closet of a thing. Clean, but otherwise nothing in there that could facilitate an escape.*
  101. [19:12:54] <Dragan> *Dragan looks at Dallas* Er, take point? *Dragan's still not that well-versed in english sayings yet*
  102. [19:13:40] <Dallas> *Dallas clarifies* I'll follow you. Go in there, and scare the crap outta 'em, huh?
  103. [19:13:42] <Hoxton> Break time. *He herds the guard in the bathroom, tying him up and making a makeshift gag if possible.*
  104. [19:14:55] <Dallas> *The guard stares at him, looking furious, but doesn't otherwise resist. Dallas radios in from the front of the store, says the three of them are in position and ready to move.*
  105. [19:15:08] <Dallas> *Oh wait. ECM.*
  106. [19:15:22] <Dallas> *If there's some way to bypass those frequencies, then Dallas tells them. Otherwise...*
  107. [19:15:31] <Sydney> ((just shout lol))
  108. [19:15:39] <Dallas> (("D8< AHHH, WE'RE READY!"))
  109. [19:16:48] <Hoxton> Good. *to Sydney.* Let's get the manager sorted, huh?
  110. [19:17:00] <Dragan> ((the metal detector will go off right? they should be able to hear it from the back right?))
  111. [19:17:07] <Sydney> ((GOOD POINT))
  112. [19:17:08] <Dallas> ((Ooh, good thinking!))
  113. [19:17:13] <Hoxton> ((Right!))
  114. [19:17:19] <Dallas> ((DRAGAN GETS A POINT FOR THAT. We don't do points, but he gets a point for that!))
  115. [19:17:28] <Dragan> ((:D))
  116. [19:18:21] <Dallas> ((Heyyyy, welcome back to Whose Line Is It Anyway, the show where everything's made up, and the points don't matter! That's right--the points are like counting rounds during Swan Song. Utterly pointless! BD))
  117. [19:18:30] <Sydney> ((:D))
  118. [19:18:46] <Sydney> ((or like grabbing loot during crime spree))
  119. [19:19:29] <Dallas> *Dallas frees his sidearm and adjusts his mask, ready to move on Dragan's signal.*
  120. [19:19:53] <Dragan> Ah, got it *He draws his gun and enters the store, setting off the metal detector.*
  121. [19:20:34] <Sydney> *Upon hearing the noise, Sydney darts inside. She's headed to the manager's office, opening the door with her gun at the ready.*
  122. [19:21:56] <Dallas> *Just like yesterday, heads go up at the noisy theft alarm, but it's followed by a startled lull when customers realize the men who just entered are armed. The clerk says* Oh my God! *They start backing away, still more confused than scared, and Dallas barks to the clerk* Shut that off!
  123. [19:22:49] <Dallas> *The manager's just gotten out of his chair. He sees Sydney at the door and sits back down at his desk, saying numbly* What do you want?
  124. [19:23:29] <Hoxton> *Anyone else in the back? Hox hangs back a little, checking the back area, guns drawn. He looks up when the detectors go off, then goes on when he hears Dallas shouting.*
  125. [19:23:39] <Sydney> You, on the ground, hands behind your back. Put your cell phone on the desk.
  126. [19:24:01] <Dallas> *Is Hox going room by room?*
  127. [19:24:08] <Dallas> *Looking through every door?*
  128. [19:24:50] <Sydney> *Sydney grins.* You know, I'll also take the key to unlock the display cases without setting off any alarms while I'm here.
  129. [19:25:18] <Hoxton> *There was another office, right? He is going to quickly peek in every room. Sydney should be able to deal with the cams and the manager. He just wants to make sure there are no nasty surprises waiting for them.*
  130. [19:26:22] <Dallas> *The manager slowly takes his phone out and puts it on the desk, then his keys, and then he gets down on the floor. He hasn't said which one it is, but it shouldn't be too tough to figure out.*
  131. [19:27:13] <Sydney> *Sydney zipties him securely, then takes a look around the room. Anything shiny and unsecured? Or any safes?*
  132. [19:27:29] <Sydney> *She also grabs the keys.*
  133. [19:28:01] <Wolf> *Wolf's gone in with dragon, gun up. Still not speaking.*
  134. [19:28:42] <Dallas> *Hoxton--the door here stands ajar. Pushed open, he gets a glimpse of the little conference room where Syd and Wolf got their private rose gold exhibition, so to speak. Roll 1d6.*
  135. [19:28:57] <Hoxton> !roll 1d6
  136. [19:28:57] <RNGesus> Hoxton rolls the 1d6 and gets: 3 [3]
  137. [19:30:27] <Wolf> *Oh, hey, just wondering- are the rings Sydney'd picked out on display anywhere?*
  138. [19:30:34] <Dallas> *Those two years behind bars weren't wasted time. Kept those animal instincts sharp. Just a glance, and he realizes there's someone in there, and the guy's got a gun trained on the door.*
  139. [19:31:18] <Dragan> *Dragan's walking around the front, keeping his gun pointed at the civilians and yelling at them to stay down*
  140. [19:33:20] <Hoxton> *If possible, Hox stops as he notices that. A moment of stunned surprise and he keeps behind the door. Any chance peeking to see who that is? Jesus...he almost walked in there. He gritts his teeth, the mask still grinning broadly.*
  141. [19:33:31] <Dallas> *Sydney--you're in luck. The manager's office has a display case along the wall. Stunning necklaces trapped behind glass.*
  142. [19:34:23] <Sydney> *Much like a magpie, Sydney is distracted by shinies. She tries the manager's keys on the case.*
  143. [19:34:37] <Dallas> *The civilians quickly move to comply, kissing the floor. With the theft alarm turned off, Dallas pushes the clerk to the others, making sure none of them are within direct line of sight of the windows.*
  144. [19:37:29] <Dallas> *Hox--looked like the guy was wearing a white shirt and a tie. Could be security, but it's difficult to say for certain. Might be a whale was looking at jewelry in here when they came crashing in. This is Virginia, after all. Concealed carry is a thing.*
  145. [19:39:58] <Dallas> *Syd--first key doesn't fit, but the second easily unlocks the display case. Just a matter of sliding the glass door back now and grabbing the loot. The necklaces are cool to the touch and just the right weight for silver and gold. It's the real deal.*
  146. [19:40:42] <Hoxton> ((Hox: :I *goes to lock the guy inside*))
  147. [19:40:50] <Dallas> ((HAHAHA, YOU CAN DO THAT.))
  148. [19:40:59] <Hoxton> ((NGL I AM TEMPTED.))
  149. [19:41:04] <Sydney> ((Sydney's got an AP pistol))
  150. [19:41:09] <Sydney> ((She can shoot him through the door))
  151. [19:41:15] <Sydney> ((>:D))
  152. [19:41:23] <Hoxton> ((What did we say about civilians? BI))
  153. [19:41:35] <Sydney> ((Has a gun THUS not a civilian))
  154. [19:43:21] <Wolf> *Wolf's looking at the jewelry. And pointing his gun at the scared civilians. But mostly looking at the jewelry.*
  155. [19:43:36] <Hoxton> *Hox groans. Fucking great. Another part time fucking cowboy. Welcome to bloody america. Hox moves quietly from the door, heads for the managers office, always keeping a look behind him.* Sydney. I need the other keys. *he looks around for the keys already.*
  156. [19:45:28] <Sydney> One sec! *Sydney bags the necklaces, then goes out into the hallway, offering the keys to Hoxton.*
  157. [19:46:44] <Dallas> *Hey, Wolf. C'mere, to the counter. Whole display of rings, and there's one of the rings he and Sydney picked out together yesterday afternoon. The rose gold band ringed with tiny diamonds. For sure, that's the one, can't mistake it. Further down is the platinum band with the big diamond trillion. But where is the third...?*
  158. [19:47:12] <Sydney> ((oh god if it's already on a customer's finger and wolf cuts it off))
  159. [19:47:22] <Dallas> ((NOW THAT'S ROMANCE.))
  160. [19:47:29] <Hoxton> Cheers. *He looks approvingly at the collected jewelery and grabs the keys, carefully heading back to the gunman's office. There, he'll position himself to the side. And deftly slam the door close and locking it, ready to jump even further to the side if the twat's firin*
  161. [19:48:11] <Sydney> *Sydney then heads to the back room, seeing if there's anything interesting in storage.*
  162. [19:48:13] <Dallas> *Silence. Then, footsteps and rattling as whoever's now trapped inside tries the door, then bashes on it.* Hey--HEY! You motherfucker, open this door! *BANG BANG BANG.*
  163. [19:48:23] <Dallas> ((Man, I wish we could do this in-game. BI))
  164. [19:48:39] <Sydney> ((the payday gang is known for their inability to close any doors))
  165. [19:48:47] <Sydney> ((unless it's an airlock))
  166. [19:49:05] <Dragan> ((an airlock with a vent anyone can climb into))
  167. [19:49:23] <Wolf> *He grabs a hammer from his bag- don't ask- and smashes the glasss concealing it, grabbing the two of them, looking around for the third.*
  168. [19:50:17] <Hoxton> *Hox cant help but laugh. What a bloody twat.* Enjoy ya fuckin stay. *he returns to the manager's office, going to turn off the camera feeds if they arent already.*
  169. [19:50:51] <Hoxton> *Well. This felt surprisingly satisfying. No need to get bruised from some part-time cowboy.*
  170. [19:54:54] <Dallas> *Sydney--the locked back room takes a keycard, but luckily the manager's an organized son of a gun and kept his card attached to his keys. Quick swipe, and the door opens for her. It's the motherlode. Boxes and shelves. Locked drawers, but the first opens to reveal a number of boxes. Nestled inside: bracelets.*
  171. [19:54:55] <Hoxton> *Though. If that guy is starting to ram the door or something, Hox will pause for a moment.*
  172. [19:54:57] <Dallas> *Hox--one cam's blind, but the other three show: Dragan, Wolf, and Dallas watching over the hostages out front, and Sydney entering the locked back room. Then he sees Wolf swing a hammer at the glass counter, and the counter shatters.*
  173. [19:55:00] <Dallas> *Wolf--good news first or bad news first?*
  174. [19:55:14] <Wolf> *..... Good?*
  175. [19:55:33] <Dallas> *The good news is he's spotted the last ring! It was hiding in the corner. The bad news is the alarm just went off.*
  176. [19:55:42] <Hoxton> ((WOLF.))
  177. [19:55:44] <Sydney> ((ooooops))
  178. [19:55:49] <Dragan> ((ruh roh))
  179. [19:56:32] <Wolf> *.. Whoops. He grabs it, immediately bagging everything else.*
  180. [19:57:19] <Hoxton> *Hox is just about to yell a string of profanities and then the alarm comes to life. He jumps up, and books it to the front. He turns the jammer off, then reaching for his phone to let Bain know now it's time for the jam, if not already happening. Then, he goes looking for the necklace.*
  181. [19:58:03] <Sydney> *Sydney's already in the process of bagging the stuff in the back room when she hears the alarm go off.* Aw, fuck! *She redoubles her efforts, knowing that the others will surely find the real necklace.*
  182. [19:58:06] <Dallas> *Dallas looks startled, but immediately starts smashing glass and grabbing loot. One eye on the emerald in the back. Gotta make sure someone gets it. Bain responds immediately, says he's triggered the diversion. To everyone, he says, let's hustle, people!*
  183. [19:58:42] <Dragan> *Dragan stops focusing on the civilians when he hears the alarm, and immediately starts bagging as much loot as he can*
  184. [20:01:49] <Hoxton> *He yells into the room* STAY DOWN, YA TWATS. *But his focus is on getting the wanted necklace bagged.*
  185. [20:02:03] <Dallas> *Sydney--each drawer has to be individually unlocked for sacking. It's frustrating, more so infurating now with the alarm blaring outside, but at least every single piece back here is the real McCoy.*
  186. [20:03:28] <Dallas> *The hostages don't move, though they let out startled yelps at the smashed glass. Sydney must've shared the emerald's position, right? It's back here in a display case, quietly glinting away next to two others.*
  187. [20:04:03] <Sydney> *Sydney's grumbling, but has the idea to unlock a decent chunk of the drawers one after the other, before taking the time to sack them.*
  188. [20:04:39] <Hoxton> *he's of course bagging loot as well.*
  189. [20:06:26] <Dallas> *Glance out the glass front of the store, and you'll see cars starting to back up down the street, courtesy of Bain's distraction. Sirens in the distance. Lightning fast police response in this neighborhood, but hopefully the jam's gonna frustrate the first responders and keep them from getting close.*
  190. [20:07:00] <Dallas> *Couple people walk past, looking in curiously before VERY QUICKLY moving on out of sight.*
  191. [20:07:17] <Dallas> *One of them backpedals and starts filming.*
  192. [20:07:49] <Sydney> *Hearing the sirens, Sydney starts cursing. She shoves what she can in her bag, then hightails it out back to the van, swapping the bag of jewelry for Brenda.*
  193. [20:07:59] <Hoxton> *Into the comms* Where is the bloody necklace? Anyone seen it?
  194. [20:09:32] <Dallas> *Twitch nervously says to Sydney* What's going on out there? You guys done soon? I'm ready to go!
  195. [20:10:54] <Sydney> Hold onto your pants, ya twit. We won't be long. *She heads back to the storeroom again, continuing her work with Brenda slung on her back.*
  196. [20:11:11] <Dallas> *Forgoing subtlety, Dallas points the display case out to Hoxton. That corner--that way.*
  197. [20:12:25] <Wolf> *Wolf's filled up one bag, booking it out to the van before running back in.*
  198. [20:12:31] <Hoxton> *Hox hurries over there, bashing in display cases with his guns.* C'mon, c'mon, c'mon! Where ya hidin, ya knob?
  199. [20:12:56] <Dallas> *It's that much harder to tell these little bastards apart when you're under stress and a time constraint. Roll 1d6.*
  200. [20:13:13] <Hoxton> !roll 1d6
  201. [20:13:13] <RNGesus> Hoxton rolls the 1d6 and gets: 2 [2]
  202. [20:13:20] <Dallas> *Where the hell is it?!*
  203. [20:13:49] <Dallas> *Sirens are getting closer. Curious onlookers have gathered on the pavement outside the store, rubbernecking, filming on their phones.*
  204. [20:14:07] <Hoxton> Fuckin hell! *He turn back to Dallas, waving over to catch his attention.* Where??
  205. [20:14:46] <Wolf> *Wolf's opened up another bag, just shoveling jewels into it. He's out of shits to give. Shiny stuff.*
  206. [20:15:34] <Dallas> *Dallas jogs over to him, reaching past him to shatter the glass with a sharp rap of his pistol.* There, grab all three.
  207. [20:16:04] <Dallas> *The sirens are close, but don't appear to be getting any closer. Sounds like they're stuck at a crawl.*
  208. [20:16:24] <Hoxton> Jesus! *He does so, trying not to cut himself on the sharp edges. He shovels em all in.* Thanks! Let's haul arses, the coppers are close!
  209. [20:16:40] <Sydney> *Any signs of any necklaces in the back room?*
  210. [20:16:43] <Dallas> *Dallas yells* All done here, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your cooperation!
  211. [20:16:58] <Hoxton> *With all three suspects in, he books it to the back.* Move, fellas!
  212. [20:17:06] <Dallas> *Sydney, gimme a roll. 1d6.*
  213. [20:17:10] <Dragan> *Dragan finishes stuffing the bag with loot, and runs to the van*
  214. [20:17:12] <Sydney> !roll 1d6
  215. [20:17:12] <RNGesus> Sydney rolls the 1d6 and gets: 3 [3]
  216. [20:17:30] <Sydney> ((bubba plz))
  217. [20:18:05] <Dallas> *Unfortunately, no necklaces. But the way she'd chosen to efficiently unlock multiple drawers in one go, she's got a fair bit of loot to the van already. It's a good haul, definitely worth coming in here.*
  218. [20:18:25] <Dallas> *Rings, bracelets, earrings, mostly.*
  219. [20:19:34] <Sydney> *Hearing the others' shouts, she shoves what's easily accessible into her fresh bag, then hightails it out of the room, headed to the van. A shame to leave the rest behind, though.*
  220. [20:20:33] <Dallas> *Dallas waits around to make sure everybody's safely out the back, then follows after them. The van's waiting right where they left it, idling. Twitch gets on the comms again, hurrying them along--* Cops are gonna be on top of us any second now! Hurry!
  221. [20:21:16] <Dallas> *Oh yeah, that real American hero in that locked room? Muffled thuds. He's been ramming the door with his shoulder.*
  222. [20:21:17] <Wolf> *Wolf's out right away, taking what he's got of that bag, sighing.*
  223. [20:21:27] <Sydney> *Sydney hops into the van, a little awkwardly because of Brenda.* I assume someone got the necklace?
  224. [20:22:17] <Hoxton> *Hox throws in his bag full of loot, jumping into the van.* I got em. I think! All of them! *he nervously glances into the direction of the sirens.* Bloody fuckin unbelievable! Look at those rubbernecks! They fuckin filmed us!
  225. [20:22:46] <Sydney> Shoulda fired some warning shots, that'd have gotten them to scatter.
  226. [20:22:49] <Hoxton> ((ADIOS, AMERICAN HERO. THE GANG SALUTES YOU.))
  227. [20:22:50] <Dallas> *Dallas gets in last, shutting the doors.* Hoxton's got it. Twitch, get us outta here! *Twitch doesn't need to be told twice. He nearly floors it, but carefully drives the van out of there. The sirens seem to pursue them, but they quickly recede into the distance.*
  228. [20:23:39] <Dallas> ((Plot twist: It was Winters on his one day off, looking for an anniversary present.))
  229. [20:23:49] <Hoxton> ((ALMOST --Oh my fucking god.))
  230. [20:24:05] <Sydney> ((OH MY GOD SERIOUSLY?!))
  231. [20:24:21] <Hoxton> ((HAWR. Can you feel the intense hate for the clowns rising?))
  232. [20:26:08] <Dallas> *When it's clear they're not being pursued, Dallas pulls his mask off, catching his breath. The bag under his feet's not nearly as heavy as he'd like it to be, but he turns to the others and says* Well done, team. That was quick and clean. Great job.
  233. [20:26:14] <Hoxton> *After a few tense minutes, Hox takes his mask off, wiping his forehead. Shite....phew. For what it's worth, this went down relatively clean. A few big breaths.* Wolf! That glass was armed! *A huff and he shakes his head. But then grins and starts chuckling.* Jesus christ fellas...
  234. [20:27:22] <Hoxton> *He starts laughing in earnest* Ya wont believe what fuckin happened just now. There was this other office right? Almost ran in on some knob playin hero with a gun.
  235. [20:28:02] <Sydney> *Sydney cackles.* What, really?!
  236. [20:28:20] <Wolf> *Wolf takes his mask off, breathing heavily.* .. Eh. We were almost done anyways.
  237. [20:29:11] <Sydney> *Sydney's keeping hers on for now.*
  238. [20:29:21] <Hoxton> *Hox grins as widely as his mask, holding it lazily, his hair all wild.* Yeah. Well, I dealt with him. Guess how.
  239. [20:29:28] <Wolf> Killed him?
  240. [20:29:35] <Sydney> Nah, didn't hear a shot.
  241. [20:29:34] <Dallas> Talked him down?
  242. [20:29:49] <Dallas> Charmed him with your British good looks?
  243. [20:30:08] <Hoxton> *He shakes his head, leaning back smug as fucking can be.* Locked the wanka in. He was yellin bloody murder.
  244. [20:30:45] <Dallas> *Dallas stares, and then he laughs.* Good thinking. Jesus, defeated by a fucking door. Now that's something else. Would love to see that guy tell his story on the news tonight.
  245. [20:30:45] <Sydney> *Sydney almost doubles over, she's laughing so hard.* No fucking way. NO WAY.
  246. [20:32:34] <Hoxton> *Hox laughs as well, loud and boisterous, mimicking the guy's voice* "HEY MOTHERFUCKER. LET ME OUT." Well. TUrned out, I didnt! At least the twat has a story to tell now! *He grins, and nods.* That would be bleedin amazing. Sure as fook didnt turn out as he thought!
  247. [20:32:52] <Wolf> .. oh my GOD.
  248. [20:33:50] <Sydney> *Sydney can't stop laughing. She almost does at one point, but then she looks at Hoxton again, and starts laughing again.*
  249. [20:34:15] <Dallas> *Dallas cracks a grin.* That'll teach him to play the big damn hero.
  250. [20:35:42] <Hoxton> *Hox pats his chest, then spreads his arms. Cocky gesture. He's enjoying that moment.* Britain's not bloody impressed by captain america there!
  251. [20:35:47] <Sydney> ((Achievement get: Let's Do Th...))
  252. [20:35:51] <Dragan> *Dragan takes off his mask, laughing at Hoxton's story*
  253. [20:41:28] <Dallas> *Twitch safely ferries them all back to the safehouse, making a stop to grab lunch on the way back. Most of the jewelry grabbed from the showroom and manager's office are a jumbled mess, so they'll need to be sorted out before they're sent to Bain for fencing. Now... where the hell is that emerald necklace? It's somewhere in that tangle.*
  254. [20:42:30] <Dallas> *Somebody tell me what they're having for lunch.*
  255. [20:42:56] <Wolf> *I'm part of the 1-meal-a-day gang. No lunch.*
  256. [20:43:13] <Dallas> *UNACCEPTABLE. DALLAS WILL INSIST WOLF PARTAKE.*
  257. [20:43:19] <Sydney> *Sydney's always up for burgers.*
  258. [20:43:54] <Dallas> *Burgers it is! With large fries for sharing.*
  259. [20:44:04] <Wolf> *BORGER.*
  260. [20:44:08] <Hoxton> *Hox tries to remember which bag he's tossed in. He is busily rooting through the jewelery. He keeps appreciatiating especially shiny bits, but keeps looking for the necklace first. It's gotta be somewhere there!*
  261. [20:44:22] <Hoxton> *And a milkshake. Those are really good in the states!*
  262. [20:46:57] <Dallas> *They are! While they untangle the take, Dallas goes through some quiet feedback for the team. Overall, really smooth moves. Very efficient. He thanks them for their restraint dealing with the hostages.*
  263. [20:47:36] <Dallas> *And there's the necklace, tangled up with the other two. Clear green solitary, just as the client wanted.*
  264. [20:48:44] <Dallas> *How's everyone doing? Feeling okay?*
  265. [20:50:44] <Sydney> *Sydney's a little disappointed, but she doesn't show it. Sure, they had a clean getaway, but they left a lot behind.*
  266. [20:52:03] <Hoxton> Looka that! *He holds up the tangled bunch of necklaces, grinning.* Phew. One of em was it, right? *he lays them down, goes to untangle them with surprising delicate movements. He looks up at Dallas' feedback, grinning. He's feeling great. They got what they needed and even though the alarm went off, they got away without any hassle with the civvies either. And not getting shot by some part-time cowboy. It's nice. At some point, he turns to Dallas, wearing a big necklace and holding up the fitting earrings by his ears. Aint I pretty? He puts them away again, helping to sort the loot.*
  267. [20:55:12] <Dallas> *Dallas cracks a grin, says* You're a real stunner, kid. *Bain calls in to check in on the team and offer his congratulations. He says the client will be very impressed with how quickly and cleanly they did the job. The jam did its job--the cops never got within a block of the store until they were already in the getaway van.*
  268. [20:57:59] <Hoxton> Smooth as a baby's arse. This was fun, fellas. Anything about that on the news yet? *he looks pleased as can be, already planning to celebrate this successful heist somehow. Maybe booze. Lots of booze.*
  269. [21:01:14] <Dallas> *See for yourself, Bain says. Sure enough, when Dallas switches the TV on, there's a bird's eye view from a news chopper, and the street below is jammed like nobody's business. Cops on the scene, however, helping dazed hostages out of the store. Then there's a little shakycam footage from someone's phone--the heisters putting the store to the sack, smashing display cases.*
  270. [21:02:37] <Wolf> Fuck yeah.
  271. [21:03:23] <Sydney> *Sydney's a little miffed that there isn't video of her.*
  272. [21:04:17] <Hoxton> *Hox' grin widens as far as his mask's. He leans forward, then starts chuckling as the jam comes into view.* Hah! Looka that! *he looks pretty satisfied, leaning back and rubbing his neck from his hunched position.* Dunno about ya, but that looks fuckin textbook.
  273. [21:05:55] <Sydney> Yeah, I guess that's one way of doing things.
  274. [21:06:31] <Dallas> Bain: *potato quality* You should be proud. You did good work out there, all of you. When you're ready, drop the loot off for me, and I'll take care of the rest.
  275. [21:07:22] <Hoxton> What's with the face, little miss sunshine?
  276. [21:07:25] <Dallas> Bain: I've got more jobs lined up for you. In the meantime, enjoy the well-earned victory.
  277. [21:08:07] <Sydney> Kinda wish we'd stayed and cleaned the whole place out. But eh. *She shrugs.*
  278. [21:08:27] <Hoxton> Gotcha, mate! *he lazily salutes to no one in particular....well to Bain wherever he is listening in.*
  279. [21:09:05] <Hoxton> *Hox glances at Wolf.* Well....if....anyway. We took as much as possible. And didnt get shot at. I count that as a bloody victory.
  280. [21:10:00] <Wolf> *He nods, flashing a faint smile.* .. Right.
  281. [21:10:02] <Dallas> *Dallas offers* We leave 'em some, that just means more for us to steal in the future. We're like wolves, right? Culling the weak or whatever.
  282. [21:10:34] <Dallas> *He doesn't know what he's talking about.*
  283. [21:10:49] <Sydney> I dunno, I just like a bit of a challenge.
  284. [21:11:24] <Hoxton> *Hox laughs.* So the nice and strong jewelery gets even more nice and strong babies?
  285. [21:11:32] <Dallas> And you'll get one, I guarantee it. It's been a real strong start to the new year. I'm sure the big ambitious contracts will come rolling in soon enough.
  286. [21:11:40] <Wolf> Exactly.
  287. [21:12:40] <Hoxton> *He mimes two rings awkwardly humping each other.* Some day, fellas. The fucking crown jewels.
  288. [21:12:59] <Dallas> *Dallas nearly starts laughing, just shakes his head and looks away.*
  289. [21:13:11] <Sydney> *Sydney cracks up at that, but it's not as enthusiastic as usual.*
  290. [21:15:16] <Hoxton> I like that theory. *he chuckles.* Fuckin hell, I bet so. This was a nice and clean heist and Bain's happy. There's contractor bount to get some interest into our merry circus.
