Shadow and Might

Season 2, Shadow and Might, begins May 16th after a 3 week offseason. It adds two new characters, two new maps, a new rarity level for gear, and new cosmetics. It will also release alongside a substantial patch offering bug fixes and balance changes.

Most everything in this pastebin was shown during the May 4th Warriors Den Livestream. There is more in the stream than I am going to be adding to this writeup, namely stat changes for gear rebalancing, pre-release concepts of characters and maps, and a few confirmed bug fixes coming down the pipeline. I recommend you slog through it as best you can.

NEW HEROES
	The new heroes are free to season pass holders, but otherwise must be purchased for 15K steel each. Without purchasing them, you will be unable to select them in online or v AI matches.

The Centurion is a new Knight hero releasing on May 16th for season pass holders, and one week later for the general population. He is being described as a hybrid between a Vanguard and an Assassin. At the time this is being written, we have no confirmation on his moveset or his feats, though a previous moveset leak is seeming more and more likely.

The Shinobi is a new Samurai hero releasing on May 16th for season pass holders, and one week later for the general population. She is an assassin, with a versatile mix of long range and close range attacks. They designed this character with the intent of making a high skill-cap kit, so expect some real bullshit. Unfortunately, there has been no moveset leak for the Shinobi. Everything we know has either been told to us, or is conjecture based on released materials.

NEW MAPS

THE FORGE

The Forge is a new knight themed map, playable in all gamemodes. Very few industries remain in Ashfeld, but the nonstop war machine has a constant need for steel. Weapons, armor, and even the currency all require steel. Forges dot the landscape, and they need to work all day to meet the unending demand. Control the Forge and you will control the tide of war. But be careful, the Forge can be a very dangerous place.

The Forge appears to do away with excess ledges in favor of more interesting environmental hazards, including pools of molten metal and automated smithing hammers. I’m sure there will still be some hard kills in the map, but I imagine they will be fewer and further between.

Temple Garden is a new samurai themed map, playable in all gamemodes. Were it not a battleground, the Temple Garden would be one of the most beautiful and serene spaces. It is open and has an incredible view of the valley below. It's a shame that the view is what made this place so strategically important.

Temple Garden looks ready to reintroduce the question of “Why the fuck do I die when I get pushed into a fucking fountain.” The environmental hazards on this one seem to be cliffs and ponds. There are also a wide variety of indoor locations and areas that appear safe from ledges, but we’ll see how many bullshit throws Warlord can land anyway. I’m betting a lot.

They jokingly said that they designed the map as a wedding locale. Only a jest, but prep your Nobushis for the 16th just in case.
